Sleeps ten - A wonderful 4 storey historic townhouse in the heart of St Andrews which has been tastefully renovated and refurbished over recent months. The end result is a fabulous property full of original features and traditional details but fully equipped for modern living.brbrThe house lies towards the eastern end of South Street close to the historic cathedral and surrounded by many properties still occupied by the University. At this point South Street is a wide tree-lined boulevard with generous pavements and an almost continental feel. All that the town centre has to offer by way of shops, bars and restaurants is only a few steps away but despite that the house is located in a more tranquil part of the town centre.brbrThere is a generous living room and separate dining room on the first floor with both rooms overlooking South Street and also on this floor is the beautifully refitted kitchen. The rooms on the first floor make wonderful use of the original exposed stone walls.brbrOn the second and third floors the sleeping accommodation is extremely flexible with 4 double bedrooms that can either be super king size or twin bedded and two further single bedrooms, one bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there are two further shower rooms.brbrOn the ground floor there is a generous entrance hall with a golf club storage area and through the utility area there is access to an outside courtyard area with seating.brbrThis is a very special house for your special trip to St Andrews.brbrEPC Rating - DbrbrSTL Licence No - FI 01656brbrPlease be aware that the annual Lammas Street Market will be in operation in St Andrews from August 7th to August 11th 2026. Sleeps 10 - Swilken House sits in an enviable location just outside St Andrews, very much in the country but only 5 minutes drive from the town. The house benefits from plenty of car parking to the front on a paved driveway, and there are generous garden grounds with outdoor dining areas. The south facing aspect of the house means that it will benefit from the sun for most of the day.brbrEntering through the front door brings you into a generous porch area where you can discard the sandy items on returning from a day at the beach or get out of wet jackets and boots (should it rain). Alternatively entering through the back door brings you into a utility room complete with washing machine and tumble dryer.brbrOnce through the porch you are in the large L-shaped living room complete with wood burning stove and Smart TV. This is a generous space where adults and children can spread out to relax. There is a corridor off the living room leading to the large open plan kitchen diner. it is equipped with all the appliances you would expect and there is a dining table to comfortably accommodate a full house. Patio doors at the end of the dining area lead to a paved area with out door seating and onwards to the garden which has another outdoor seating area.brbrThere are two bedrooms off the ground floor corridor, one double bedroom and one bunk room with bunk single beds. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.brbrStairs lead from the living room area to the first floor where you will find three further bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. There is a twin bedded room which sits opposite the second family bathroom which has a hand held shower on the bath.
