Llandovery is situated 3 miles away on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, whilst 6 miles away is Myddfai, famous for its physicians. The area is full of beautiful walks and bridleways, with an RSPB nature reserve near Llyn Brianne Reservoir. The beautiful forests of Cwm Rhaeadr and Crychan are a short distance away. Guests can bring their own horse (book separately) and enjoy riding in this stunning scenery. Approx 11 miles away is the market town of Llandeilo. The Methodist Chapel, built in 1740, was one of the first Methodist Chapels in Wales.brbrThe whole area, in the lower foothills of the Cambrian Mountains and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, is outstanding for walkers, birdwatchers, photographers, artist and all country lovers. There are gentle strolls or more strenuous hikes from the cottage door including one to a magnificent waterfall. Beiliglas Barn is a refurbished two bedroom converted barn in the western part of the Beacons National Park. Sleeps four (plus cot) It is comfortable and light, with many character features including flag floors, white stone walls, oak beams and vaulted ceiling. Underfloor heating and wood burning stove ensure it is cosy in winter. brbrThe barn is in a rural setting 100m from a minor road. It is across the yard from the owner's house, but is quite separate and very private. There is a secluded garden in the rear. A public access path from the door leads across farmland directly to Myddfai Mountain and the ranges of the Brecon Beacons beyond. The historic village of Myddfai is a 15 minute walk on quiet roads or across fields (or 3 minute drive). The nearby town of Llandovery is 3 miles away with a supermarket (open till late every day except Sunday) and a few specialty shops and services. Ideal for couples, and families wanting to mix a lovely rural location with visits to local attractions. The cottage has been graded 4 stars by 'Visit Wales'. See note on dogs below. Cottage is no-smoking. There is a key box - so guests free to arrive as suits. brbrGuests have said that they appreciate flexibility with booking.
