White Cottage: Luxe Beach Cottage w/Private Pool, Backyard Beach and Dock

Beautiful home and well stocked. The manager Shamar was so helpful!

We had a wonderful day at White cottage. Everything worked out beautifully. The layout of the house was perfect for our group of six adults.(2 couples, 2 singles). The inside and outside of the house blend together to afford many useful outdoor spaces. In particular, we loved the large screened in back of the house in the evening, as there were some bugs, and the gazebo at the end of the dock with its hammocks during the day, which always had a beautiful breeze, we snorkeled out to the break several times, saw beautiful fish, sting rays, and several octopuses but honestly spent most of the days using the pool. We are all swimmers and really appreciated having a dedicated lap pool to get our exercise, all it was a great week. The pool is wonderful. Also the management staff was very helpful.

We enjoyed our stay at White Cottage. All of us agreed the house was an amazing, peaceful retreat in paradise. The view from the private beach and dock is simply beautiful. The house had plenty of space for our family of 11 both inside and out. There are lots of opportunities for activities on and near the property for all ages. Our young adult children loved the ocean access, corn hole, kayaks, paddle board and pool. Older adults loved the well stocked kitchen (as we cooked many meals) and ample towels in the bathrooms. Any questions or small issues were promptly taken care of by Shamar and Louise of Silver Thatch/Grand Cayman Villas. They provided 5 star service! Only suggestion is to ask what is provided for you as property had many grocery items/cleaning supplies that we didn't need to purchase. Hope to be back some day!

Overall this place was really great. The high point is the backyard. I saw in some reviews people complaining about the beach or ocean but it was great. I was surprised by how nice the beach is. Now sure the ocean had seaweed, but the beach was clean and deep, and there is a lovely dock. The pool area with palm trees looking out at the ocean, two different outdoor dining areas, all really great. The first floor layout and design was really nice and attractive. I do want to mention a couple things. Most of the doors in the house are sliding non-locking barn door style doors, including into bathrooms, and they don't fit super tight, so as you walk by you can catch a glimpse. I do not know why they chose this door system but I am not a fan. The master bedroom has a normal locking door but I think that is the only one. In the master bath there is an open shower without a full enclosure, and an open toilet without any enclosure, there is also not any sort of door between the bedroom and the bathroom, just a hallway with a closet. I know some couples are cool with using the toilet out in the open, but not everyone is, so that is sort of inconvenient. The master shower was the main problem on our trip. They talk up in the listing how its this spa thing etc etc but there is no water pressure to it. The main shower head produces a trickle and the body jets and wand, when turned on, produce a dribble. The shower was barely functional for cleaning for someone with short hair, for someone with long hair forget about it. It isn't a problem with the property, the other bathroom on the first floor has amazing water pressure. The spa system in the master has an nonworking LCD screen on it, so I suppose maybe there may be electronic control on one of the valves that isn't working because there is no power, or there is a busted valve, or some sort of installer error. They knew about it prior to our arrival and we mentioned it a couple times to staff while we were there. I really hope they get it fixed -- the property is truly lovely, but not having a good master shower really takes it down. The only other thing I would say is that the 2nd floor bedrooms are sort of meh, they have windows facing the sides not the ocean. Putting in windows facing the ocean would have been some serious work, it'd require dormers because of the roof line. Overall I still gave it four stars, it is a really nice convenient location in the middle of the island.

The property was amazing inside and out. The pool and beach areas were wonderful. The inside of the house was also great, very well stocked. Couldn’t have asked for a better property. Louise was a gem to work with, everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Best equipped rental I have ever stayed in.

We had issues finding a home with a nice beach in Grand Cayman, but this one was perfect. The dock was amazing! We did have some issues with the gate, screen door, and pool lights, and the team did their best to resolve. But, the home accommodated our group of 9 people well, and was truly beautiful.

The beach in this picture is yard space and when you go down to the beach, there is 100 feet of sea weed(not your fault) but it was unusable and very potent-sulfuric smell. It made being outside unpleasant most of the time. Most of the east end of the island is covered in seaweed. This should have been revealed. We would not have chosen this home had we known. The house is great and I am sorry for this for you as I know it is a nature phenomenon. Otherwise our trip was fantastic....just had to leave to get away from the smell.

It is only 30 mins from the Seven Mile beach and we rented a car and went everywhere we wanted on the island!
