Overall, the stay was good. There were sugar ants in the master bathroom and incorrect wifi password provided on check-in instructions, but property contact responded quickly. A/C struggled during day, but this is due to excessive 95+ deg temperatures during our stay. Plenty of room and nice pool / grill.
I have never written a negative review b4, but this is by far the worst experience my family and I have ever had renting. First day, kayaks are not there and pool cues are broken. These things were taken care of after I reached out. Later that night we started to notice the ants! At first they had just gotten into stuff on the kitchen counters. And not just food. I sent a picture of the ants to the property manager. Two days later she brought over ant bait traps to sit out. By now, ants are in everything. They are in our luggage, the showers the counters, the dressers, even the couch. I took a shower, dried off and had ants crawling up my arms. We had to rewash all of our luggage and place everything up in closets. On day 5 the ants were in my hanging luggage. I immediately told the property manager that this house needed an exterminator and the owners need to pay for us to stay somewhere else. Only then on day 5 of our 7 day stay were we moved to an empty house that evening. This ant problem was not bc of open food nor is it caused by rain. Looking back at reviews this is an ongoing issue that has never been taken care of. I have reached out to the owners & property manager asking for compensation. I was told that bc I was moved and they have to pay a cleaning fee that I should be satisfied. I’m not satisfied I’m am furious! We had to eat out every meal, continuously wash everything and really couldn’t be in the house. I have photos and videos if the owner try’s 2 deny.
The house and pool were great and the housekeeping team left it clean but there were several areas that smelled musty like the entire upstairs, under the kitchen sink and the washing machine. It wasn't terrible but may not be great for someone with allergies. There were also only small, old towels to use. The main issue was the hot tub. The temp was not controllable from the house and too cold. It was one of the main reasons we picked this house so it was disappointing. We called, as instructed, to the property manager to let them know we were there and both numbers in the check in instructions and welcome book are wrong. We finally got the right number but they never called back or turned up the hot tub temp so we had zero contact with anyone our whole stay. Overall good for the price but room for improvement.
House is nice. It has been cleaned up nicely after hurricane. We would book it again if it were available.
Beautiful 3 suites with comfortable king beds, large kitchen, heated pool and hottub. Loved the canal which we kayaked with bottlenose dolphins on!!! 3 bicycles in garage were fun to see the neighborhood and cute burrowing owls everywhere. Highly recommend!!!
This house was not available when we landed in Ft. Meyer on our check in day. Imagine my surprise when I read the note from Sylvie! We waited about an hour and she offered a 3 bedroom, 3 bath and of course I accepted it so me and my family had a house to go to. It was a downgrade from the 4 bedroom house I booked and paid for. No refund received.
Overall house accommodated my family well. Location was convenient and quiet neighborhood. However if I book a place for 1 week I expect there to be enough toilet paper, garbage bags and dishwashing pods for 9 people for the week instead of the 2 garbage bags and 2 dishwashing pods and one roll of tp per bathroom that was supplied! I do not think for the amount of money I spent to book this home that I should have to go out and buy these things! Also, if I am required to wash towels and linens the detergent should also be supplied.
Overall for the cost of this property I would not stay at it again. We were allowed to check in early, but when we got there we found energy drinks laying around, spray bottle of vinegar by a fan, and ant spray laying around. The ants were nonstop in the place. You could not keep anything on any counter for more than an hour without them coming up. The pool/spa did not work correctly until the pool came by on Wednesday (we checked in on a Saturday). He went out of his way to tell us he had no affiliation with the rental which I thought was odd. The screen area had a door that went to the dock, but the bottom portion is taped on, and there is no lock for the door as well. The garage door is broke as well, open a closet door for it to fall off as well. The upstairs bedroom smells of water. You can tell there is a problem because of the water stains on the ceiling below. Overall the house needs fixing. For this price I would recommend staying somewhere else.
There was so many ants all over my clothes and they bite I left with so many bite marks on my body , the jacuzzi doesn’t work. It was a nice stay but hard to get in contact with owner.
We went the week of July 4th and were so excited to have a week to relax before going back to work. We checked in with the number provided for the property manager which was a cell phone and never got an answer back. The house was not cleaned and we kept on finding obscene decorations from what I assume was a Bachelorette party that my daughter kept bringing to me and asking about. These decorations were of the male anatomy of a man.The pool table was broken so my husband and brother in law did not play any pool. Lights were not working in the laundry room and two burners did not work on the stove. The screen on the lanai was broken so mosquitoes came in to the pool area. Loose tiles on the lanai that were dangerous. We still had a great time in Cape Coral but that was not because of this house. It was extremely disappointing and I will continue renting with swflrentals.com in the future because at least they are truthful about their houses and the state they are in and have been for the past 6 years We have been going there.
The furnishings were worn and dated but the place was very clean. The pool and canal view were spectacular! The house had easy access to a main street and equal distance from Sanibel and Ft Myers beaches. The management team was very responsive and helpful. I accidentally left my wedding ring, which they found and are mailing to me!
The upstairs smelled of mold, you could see where water had been leaking from upstairs on the main floor. The pool didn’t filter properly so there were a lot of bugs in it. The screen on the ceiling of the patio was hanging down and bugs were getting in constantly. The bikes were not functional. The TVs in two of the rooms didn’t work properly, one was so fuzzy you couldnt see the picture and the other would not change channels. On a positive note, the environment was peaceful and serene. The pool table, though needing redone, was a good additive. The checkin was easy especially after a flight. The location was convenient with stores close. The drive to the beach was short and easy. The beds were overall comfortable though the upstairs squeaked if you turned. My favorite part of the house was the dock on the canal. Beautiful as the sun rises and extremely peaceful at night! I loved the lights on the table and just the overall feel! Overall good place to stay. With the amount of money spent I expected a bit better. However time with family was great!
The property was perfect for our size family (4 old and 4 young adults). Any questions we had were quickly answered. The neighbors are very nice. My only hesitation on staying here again is the distance it takes to open waters by rental boat - of course, you are not renting a boat, this place would be just perfect!
The property is located on a quiet street/area. The house was equipped with all the extras that made our stay enjoyable (kayaks, beach equipment, pool toys). Some things in the house need some minor repairs but nothing major that would ruin your stay. I would highly recommend this property when staying in Cape Coral since it is centrally located near everything that you would need.
Loved the outdoor space for our families. Inside was a great layout and with a little bit of maintenance this property would be a 5+ rating.
