Villa Vista is an enchanting home away from home. One of the most remarkable things about the villa is its location on the cliff above the bay. This Mediterranean style villa overlooks the gorgeous Hodges Bay and is nestled amid the windswept fauna of Point Dubique on the east coast of Dominica. As its name suggests, it is a house of panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean, Hodges Bay and the majestic mountain peaks of Morne Trois Piton and Morn Diablotin. Atlantic breezes refresh and inspire, making this villa ideal for relaxation. In addition to the captivating views, you will delight in the pleasant sounds of the sea surf, seagulls, and pelicans as well as the soothing melodies of the revitalizing winds that bless the villa. There is a private driveway with off-street parking right at the villa's front door. It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants and shops. It is only 20 minutes from Melville Hall airport to the south. Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed at several nearby locations.
This picturesque Villa Vista is comprised of two floors, the top floor housing the master bedroom and spa facilities. The upstairs master bedroom suite houses a king-sized bamboo bed, a couch and reading area, as well as a master bath with bidet. There is a separate room with the hot tub (which also has a terrific view). Finally, there is a large private balcony with a wonderful view of the sea and the mountains. The ground floor has one and a half bathrooms and two bedrooms: a Queen-sized bed in one and two twin beds in the other. The bedroom with the queen bed has direct access to the terrace. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and mosquito nets, if desired.
The kitchen is on the ground floor and is fully equipped and outfitted to continue that home away from home experience. It comes complete with refrigerator, microwave, stove with oven, coffeemaker, and toaster. The living room is cozy with its flat screen television to keep you entertained. You can view a selection of local or foreign channels or just gaze at the beautiful scenery from this comfort zone. From the living room you look out directly on the terrace and swimming pool. You may wish to recline on one of the lounge chairs on the open terrace overlooking the water or swim in the revitalizing infinity pool while enjoying a good rum punch. There is a wifi internet system throughout.
If you like keeping fit, there is an invigorating walk down about 300 meters to the beach where you can swim, snorkel, fish or just sit quietly watching the river meet the waves rolling in.
If you visit during the full moon, you will be treated to the amazing sight of the moon rising above the bay.
Villa Vista is private enough for you to forget the world outside if you want, as it seems to have a magical effect on all who enter. But from here, it is easy access to Calibishie, where you can find quaint houses, small grocery stores and shops (including a mini wine shop), and several wonderful restaurants. Calibishie is a quiet fishing village with warm, friendly people only too happy to help you experience your home away from home. It is also the home of Red Rocks, a popular visit along the coast by Calibishie. This location is also ideally situated to explore all that the north of Dominica has to offer, including such things around Portsmouth as Indian River and Cabrits National Park.
At Villa Vista we also offer premier guest support services. Our local property manager can attend to any needs you may have, and can arrange for such things as maid services, chef services, prepared meal deliveries, or help in arranging tours or transportation. We can also provide for pick-up at the airport and transportation to the villa.

The access roads to Calibishe are dangerous (narrow and winding) and therefore it is not easy to circulate. But the place is beautifull and people are very nice.

This house was a little slice of heaven in an unspoiled country with the friendliest people you will ever meet. The house owner and host were both available, attentive, and helpful as our family of five enjoyed the village of Callibishie and the island of Dominica. The house is clean and laid out well, with amazing views, an outdoor pool, and an indoor hot tub. Chris connected us with a local who provided us with meals many days, stocked our pantry before we arrived, and gave us helpful hints for our trip. We connected with Wendy from Untouchable Tours. Keep in mind, Calibishie is in the north, near the airport, but 1.5 hours from Roseau, the capital.

The views were amazing and the breeze made it just fine without air conditioning. The villa was quiet and perfect and no one wanted to go home. Dominica is beautiful and the people are really kind and friendly. Next time we’ll hire a local driver because the roads are not for tourists.

A great house overlooking a beautiful bay in a very quiet area. There is a patio with views to the ocean, a surprisingly cold plunge pool, and everything you need. Tons of space too, for our family of four. No AC, but you don't need it! Constant ocean breezes kept the place cool and bugs away. You can go to the bay below, but the ocean is not very swimmable there. No worries though there are several drivable beaches nearby, including the amazing Batibou beach. We would go out for the day and enjoy the wonders of this amazing country. It was nice to know that upon returning, there would be this great pool, views, and breezes. Very relaxing! There is a small grocery store within walking distance. It had everything we needed, your results might vary, but if you are open-minded, you might be shocked by how awesome Dominica is! There is also a great restaurant you can walk to, Poz, and Calabishie with more restaurants is a short drive away. I probably wouldn't recommend trying to drive from here to attractions in the southern part of the island, but there is enough to do up north to warrant 4-5 days. If that is your choice, then this is a great house!

We enjoyed a week at Villa Vista. The house is situated just above the coast with a beautiful view over the ocean and surrounded by tropical vegetation. You can walk down to a lovely little beach where a beautiful river flows into the sea where you can swim in crystal clear water.Although it was a very windy week we were able to spend most of our time on the terrace. Calibishie is a lovely village with friendly people and some good restaurants, although shopping facilities are limited. There is a market on Saturdays in Portsmouth, half an hour's drive away.If you are looking for nature and tranquillity .... is the place to be.

Property was great and exceeded our expectations. Communication was great. The view is absolutely spectacular. The property is clean and pictures are close to accurate with some minor changes to the furniture and bug netting in the bedrooms. There is a small store within walking distance. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again should we return to Dominica.

We arrived on the 4:30 p.m. flight into Dominica out of Miami. Once we went through customs and the rental car process it was getting dark. Just a heads up, when it gets dark it goes to lights out quickly. Chris, the owner, had sent me an email with information, I realized to late that I had forgot to click the link with the complete driving directions.Sorry Gweneth, the manager, for many calls when we kept driving by the Villa. After a long day of travel, we arrived and had no provisions for dinner. I had reviewed restaurants ahead and knew POZ was nearby. When I called he was gracious to cook us a meal yet that evening. We also recommend driving a few minutes down the road to the village of Calibishie which is easy to navigate, here there are several dining options, if you should find yourself in the same situation as we did.O & A market is right at the corner of the Villa Street which had plenty of provisions, very clean, neat & organized store. The Villa's open air with inside louvers is on a very private setting. We enjoyed many adventures around the island but saved a few days to relax and enjoy the amenities of the Villa. One evening we hired a chef to come cook a 5-course meal. The Villa setting worked perfect. We choose to sit on the stools positioned by the open-air kitchen setting which allowed us to chat with the chef while she prepared our delicious farm to table meal.If we should return to the island someday Villa Vista will be our top choice!

Such a great property. Definitely one of the nicest on the island. A great place to come back to after our daily adventures. The ability to open up all the windows and let the breeze in made up for the lack of air conditioning which is normal here. The space was great and the ability to walk down to the beach. The path is steep but only a short walk. The only thing I would say the house needs some improvement is to update some of the kitchen supplies, sharper knives and just some things missing, etc. As a family of five with kids we ended up eating in a lot of nights and cooking so we gave the kitchen utensils a work out Definitely check out the O and A mini mart at the end of the road at the house, they have most of your basic supplies to make a meal. Overall our stay was amazing and nothing short of an adventure!

Our stay at the villa was absolutely wonderful. Chris went above and beyond, proving to be the best host we've ever had. He made check-in and check-out effortless, allowing us to fully enjoy our vacation without any interruptions. The villa offers breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and even a small black sand beach accessible via a trail right from the property. A small convenience store is just a 7-minute walk away, and the local town, only a 5-minute drive, with plenty of small ocean-view restaurants and bars. The property manager was also fantastic—very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this villa and would definitely return in the future!

After extensive research of accommodations on Dominica, Villa Vista was the only choice for me. This decision was based on the view, the size of the house, and the private pool. Lots of space to be together or alone. Very comfortable. Also, a significant number of positive reviews are always a plus. There are multiple choices of restaurants and small stores nearby to get adequate supplies of what we needed. Blackbeards Goat Farm was a surprising highlight and The Chocolate Factory are both minutes away.Chris, the owner, and Gweneth the manager, were always accessible and friendly to answer any questions. If I’m back in Dominica, Villa Vista will be my choice. January temperatures were pleasant with no significant bug activity. Pleasant breezes.During our seven night stay we drove ourselves around most of the island twice and down to Scott’s Head. Red Rocks near the house was also a highlight. There’s so much to see and you can’t see it all. So we made sure to reserve two days just to relax at the house and enjoy the view, and the people of Calibishie.Thank you to Chris and Gweneth for insuring our stay was comfortable and welcoming.
