Stayed Jan 22, 2026I had the pleasure of staying once again at this dreamlike property during a work trip. Having enjoyed my first stay nearly two years ago, I returned for another visit and once again found it exceptional. The home provided the perfect setting for both relaxation and productivity. The stunning views and serene atmosphere made my stay truly special. I’m grateful for the warm hospitality and a wonderfully relaxing weekend.

Stayed Jun 30, 2025We spent two absolutely lovely weeks at Lauren and Roberto’s villa and felt at home right away. The house is beautiful, with stunning views, a great pool, and perfect outdoor spaces for relaxing or dining al fresco. Montecatini Alto is just a few minutes away—great for a bite, gelato, or appettivo—and we enjoyed day trips to Lucca, the coast, Florence (with great parking tips from our host Simone), Pistoia, and even a bit further to Siena. The home was super comfortable: cozy beds, blackout shutters (great for jet lag), AC and fans throughout, washer/dryer, and a well-stocked kitchen. Traveling with a 3-year-old was easy—Simone, our local host. had a pack and play ready for us, and popped by the shops for us to get supplies as we were arriving so late at night. Our favorite nearby meal was at Nonna Idelpha’s—just a few minutes away and absolutely worth making a reservation. But honestly, the best part of the stay was the warmth and care you could feel throughout the home. Simone was an incredible host—so helpful and responsive, with great recommendations. We’d return in a heartbeat. This place gave our family such special memories and truly felt like a home away from home.

Stayed May 1, 2025Our stay at Villa Poggio Scalette was nothing short of magical, and a huge part of that is thanks to our incredible host, Simone. From greeting us at the airport, to arranging dinner reservations that first evening, to prompt responses to all our text queries, he made us feel welcomed and at ease. The villa itself was a blend of authentic Tuscan charm and modern amenities. And the view!! We awoke each morning to a stunning vista of Montecatini Alto and Terme. The rolling hills and vineyards are truly unforgettable. The location allowed us to easily drive our rental car to Alto, Terme, Lucca, Florence and Volterre. Dining al fresco on the terrace, with an amazing 5 course meal provided by a superb chef (again a recommendation of Simone) was a highlight the entire family will forever cherish. We wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anyone seeking a comfortable and authentic Tuscan experience.

Stayed Apr 14, 2025Our group (3 adults, 2 kids ages 8 and 4) spent 3 nights at Villa Poggio Scalette. First of all, the property itself is so peaceful, private, and full of natural beauty. The location is an ideal 'home base' for exploring Tuscany- an easy 30-minute drive to Lucca, and 1 hour to Florence. Plus, you are 10 minutes away from all the conveniences of Montecatini Terme, and 5 minutes away from charming Montecatini Alto. Secondly, the house is spacious, clean, comfortable, and full of modern conveniences (temperature control in each room, washer AND dryer, modern kitchen) that make life so much easier, especially with kids. Lastly, both the owners (Roberto and Lauren) and the local host (Simone) were constantly in touch and responsive throughout our entire stay. They shared helpful restaurant recommendations, helped us order take-out from a local restaurant one night, and even assisted when we needed to order a piece of medical equipment through Amazon! On our last day, Simone gave the kids a gelato-making demonstration at his family's gelateria, and then he and his brother prepared a private, delicious 5-course dinner for us at the house. It was a great way to end our stay, and a perfect example of the hospitality you can expect when staying here. We hope to plan future stays with family and friends!

Stayed Oct 10, 2024We want to share our incredible experience at Villa Poggio Scalette, nestled a few kilometers from Montecatini. We rented a car in Florence and took a scenic one-hour drive to the villa. Upon arrival, Simone, the property manager, greeted us warmly at the gate and gave us a thorough tour, making us feel instantly at home. The villa is stunning—tastefully decorated with rooms that overlook olive trees and the charming town of Montecatini. We felt secure thanks to the gated parking. On our first morning, we indulged in a delightful continental breakfast for just 10 euros. The local pastries, croissants, and espresso were the perfect start to our day, and the service was impeccable. As avid walkers, we explored Montecatini’s old town, just a 10-minute walk from the villa. The town boasts amazing views, quaint cafes, and fantastic restaurants around the square. We also rode the funicular down to the main city—an absolute must. Montecatini is famous for its thermal baths, and we couldn’t resist visiting Stabilimento Termale Tamerici for a relaxing day. Simone, who also owns the best gelateria in town, recommended excellent dining spots. Pizzeria Il Gallo was a standout for its incredible food at great prices. For steak lovers, Simone reserved us a table at La Baita, where we enjoyed an unforgettable evening with special treatment. Villa Poggio Scalette is conveniently close to Florence, Lucca, and Forte dei Marmi. We highly recommend this magical villa and can't wait to return!

Stayed Jun 28, 2024This property was exactly as advertised - An updated Tuscan villa high up on the hills in the olive groves. The views were amazing and the amenities were great. We loved having coffee from the upstairs balcony and eating outside on the terrace. Wifi signal was very strong if you have to work. The girls loved the 3rd floor nook and having lots of space. Both Lauren and Simone were great to work with and Simone gave us lots of real time recommendations and helped us make dinner reservations. We were able to use the pool club next door which was a huge perk. Location was great near Montecatini Alto and close to lots of great cities, but really felt like you were living in Tuscany.

Stayed May 23, 2024Villa Poggio Scalette was truly a dream place to stay on our vacation. The pictures cannot do this beautiful home justice - you have to see it for yourself!! The view, the amazing property, the Tuscan touches in the decorating with all the modern amenities - we already cannot wait to go back!!! We slept so comfortably and had everything we needed at the house for some relaxing afternoons and evenings enjoying wine, good food, and the view :) Our host Simone was very communicative and so helpful with tips of local places to visit and to eat. The location was perfect for day trips to Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, etc. and the town of Montecatini Therme has plenty to do as well. We have traveled a fair amount and this is by far our favorite place we’ve ever stayed.
