Villa Marietta - Idyllic Country Villa With Large Private Pool

Property very clean had everything you nned was there communication to owner exerlent. Pool great all of family loved it.Only 5 minute drive to town.Would definitely stay again.Very homely

I must admit I was a little apprehensive booking our stay as we have always had short city breaks in Italy and this was the first time we decided to book a villa for two weeks. My fears were completely unfounded as we had a fantastic time, the outside space is exactly what we wanted and more. With a dining area, poolside kitchen and barbeque the owners have obviously given a lot of thought to this area and no expense has been spared. This takes nothing away from the Villa, we found it extremely comfortable. With three double bedrooms, all of them spacious (you can get three singles in one of them) this was perfect for our family holiday. If you wanted to have some respite from the hot weather, with three settees in the kitchen/lounge area there is enough room to accommodate everyone. Even with all this, the room felt extremely airy and cool. The villa is ideally situated with easy access to the main town of Cisternino, and with beaches at Torre Canne a short drive away and the delightful towns of Ostuni and Locototundo nearby they are a must to visit. My personal favourite was a little restaurant in Locototundo which had at least ten yearly Michelin recommendation stickers on the door. You might have to wait a little time for the fresh pasta to be made but it is worth the wait. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name (the red wine was good too)!! but it is in the pedestrian part of the town, so just look for the stickers! There are some decent restaurants in Cisternino too, look out for the ones where you can choose your meat and they cook it for you. You buy the meat by the kilo and is extremely good value for money. Communication with the owner was extremely good before and during our stay and nothing was too much trouble. We were fortunate the owners relative lives close by and he made sure everything was at it should be and offered advice on local restaurants and places to visit. Ask him about the local wine too! I cannot recommend this Villa highly enough and my only regret is the bar has been set so high anywhere else will disappoint.

Villa Marietta is very well positioned to explore the central area of Puglia with its beatiful hill top towns and easily accessible beaches. The pool area was a real bonus for our children and the roofed dining space privided welcome shade on hotter days.The villa was very well equipped with both indoor and poolside cooking facilities. All of the rooms were very spacious, comfortable and well appointed.The propery offers much more space than we expected and during summer months really does ensure you make the most of the opportunities to eat outdoors and enjoy the views of Cisternino and the surrounding olive groves. The owners, Sante and Dawn provided useful information regarding the area and were easy to communicate with regarding booking and payments. We booked Villa Marietta for a special holiday to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint!

Villa Marietta was just perfect for our family holiday this year. We have stayed in many villas across Europe over the years and I think this one topped them - it was so well equipped, excellent supply of linen and towels, super comfortable beds and Santa and Vito were so quick to respond if we had any questions and were really helpful - thank you so much. We had such a great holiday, Italy is a beautiful country and we are seriously considering moving there in the future - I can certainly see me and my family there. It is such a lovely area as well, and we managed to visit lots of stunning places. We do intend on coming back to Cisternino again and that area as there was so much we didn't see and do. The weather was surprisingly good for October - I had prepared for it not being too hot in the day so was pleasantly surprised when we had lots of lovely sunny days - the kids were in the pool everyday, which was crazy cause the water was cold due to the time of year - I did manage a few dips myself so it wasn't that bad! It did get a little chilly in the evenings which I hadn't prepped for, so wish I had taken a few more jumpers but all was good when in the Villa, as the heaters provided gave out a sufficient supply of heat. Thanks for letting us rent your beautiful villa, I would certainly recommend it.

Really nice holiday retreat. Lovely views over the town in the distance. Pool area superb.
