We had a wonderful stay here during a Finnish heatwave. It's a beautiful residence which was the home of a famous Finnish author, and is quite charming in its authenticity and spacious nature. It's also perfectly positioned next to Lake Saimaa with a small beach area and a larger dock that can be used for fishing or deeper swimming. The sauna is fantastic - well worth a go, particularly as you can jump straight into the lake after. Also worth praising the host Eeva - she lives on site and will talk you through anything you might need to know and is always on hand to help out or show you walking trails or the best places to pick berries. Thank you Eeva for an excellent stay and for an idyllic few days!

It's a wonderful location to spend time indoor and outdoor with a bigger group. We were 9 adults and 8 kids and enjoyed the peaceful area, the sauna house just next to the lake, roar boats, amazing nature with fire places and enough space to sit also insight during a rainy day. Thanks a lot to Eeva for hosting us in a very caring way. We totally recommend Villa Kurenniemi
