Nerano, Campania
Nestled on the amalfi coast in the beautiful scenery of Marina del Cantone is Villa Flory. It is perched above the azure sea but protected from the wind by the mountains, the villa offer stunning sea view with its own path down to the sea The villa itself is arranged over two floors. On the lower floor you will find a spacious living room with a simple, stylish decor. There are several comfortable leather sofas and large flat screen television. Large wooden framed double doors, waiting to be opened on warm days to let the sea breezes enter. There is a dining table to seat six. There is also an internet Wifi connection and air conditioning throughout the apartment.
Surrounding the lower level are several beautiful terraces, each with a different perspective on the spectacular seascape. The sea varies in shade from dawn to dusk; from the palest grey, to the brightest turquoise, before turning to dark blue. You will be spoiled for choice when deciding where to relax, with a choice of tables and chairs and even a hammock, whether in sunshine, or in shade.
Between the lower and upper floors is a stunning open staircase, taking you to the four double bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has wonderful sea views, with two having a small terrace with table and chairs accessed through double doors. The decor is modern with clean lines, with comfortable beds and the benefit of a flat screen satellite television and air conditioning in every room
Wonderful time at the Villa. House was as listed. Very clean. Access down to sea by steps. Great communication. Host and staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They arranged an absolutely delicious multi-course meal at the Villa our first night and helped us get transport for a day trip to Sorrento for our group. Great proximity to Marina del Cantone with excellent restaurants as well as nearby hikes - just be mindful the walks to and from are on narrow hilly roads. We also rented a day boat ride as well as a kayak right in the Marina, as well as shopped for essentials at mini market located there. We were busy the whole stay so didn’t get to use the indoor hot tub or ping pong table but members of our group did use the exercise equipment. We definitely would rent again if back in area.
The house itself was clean with an excellent view, but the stairway to the beach on one side is filled with trees and you can’t walk through that side easily. Landscaping overall can be improved. Also, the wifi connection could be improved on the top floor of the house. Besides that, the other areas of the house were clean and satisfactory. Overall, though, it was a good time and experience.
Amazing views and good facilities whcih suited our needs for the perfect weekend away for a birthday celebration. Local bars and restaurants just a short walk away.
There are not enough words to describe the absolutely perfect stay we had at Villa Flory. We waited over two years to finally get to the house as a result of Covid. It was worth every second. The location in the town of Nerano between Sorrento and Positano was ideal. We were a group of ten and the house was incredibly spacious. Floriana and Eleonora could not have been better hosts. They answered every question and helped us with everything from a private chef to a yacht rental. The house was impeccably clean when we arrived and the host was always available for anything we needed. This house should be booked year round.
There are not enough words to express how amazing this villa is! We had such an incredible time at this beautiful place. The lift/elevator is wonderful to have. There was plenty of space for all of us in our group and having 3 bathrooms was great! The view is phenomenal and we loved all of the outdoor space and all of the various seating areas. The hot tub was so great to have and the view from it was amazing. My only advice would be to make sure it is hot when the guests show up as it wasn't working and we had to wait until the next day to use it. We walked into town every day and loved the restaurants nearby. Floriana and Eleonara were wonderful and so responsive. WE definitely plan on staying here again in the future!
This property was over the top AWESOME!! Eleonara and her mom Floriana met us outside the property greeting us with lemon chello and warm smiles. The best part of the home was the out door views of the coast line. Large sitting areas from balconies off two bedrooms and the living room below. This is a great home for a large party's. We had 8 people staying very comfortably. Dropping down the outdoor stairs to the water another sitting area with hot tub, ending up at the waters edge where you can go for a swim and use the snorkel equipment conveniently stored in a room at the bottom. Kitchen was well equipped with everything needed. The small town was a short walk away with restaurants and boat rental. Speaking of boat rental... we rented a private boat and toured around Capri !!! A must do. I cant say enough about this home it was truly the best rental home I have ever booked. You wont be disappointed.
Check in was super fast and easy. All beds are queens (not American Kings) but comfortable just the same. Showers are equipped with 6 jets but we were unable to enjoy all but one, given it’s very small size. Tends to flood as well (hence the 4 stars) plenty of towels which was a huge plus. Spectacular views with comfortable outdoor seating. Great AC too. We rented a car and the driving is everything you’ve read about so I recommend a small car as you’ll be sharing the road with very large tour buses and motorcycles/scooters that weave between traffic like Andretti on steroids. Nearby restaurants were very good if you don’t want to risk your life on the roads to drive outside the area especially at night. Supermarket was 25 minutes away so stock up before your arrival. There’s a pizzeria/convenience store 2 minutes out but a bit pricier if you don’t mind the convenience. Owner Eleanora was amazing. Answered all of our questions via text in less than 10 minutes and was helpful with recommendations for food, excursions etc. she bends over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this property and would love to return one day.
We had a glorious week at Villa Flory in September 2019. The villa is as beautiful and comfortable as the photos show. There is a wonderful emphasis on outdoor comfort with amazing views of the sea, several terraces and seating options, including a hammock with new netting. The different terrace levels (some covered) offer privacy when you want to have quiet time. Communication with the owners was outstanding. It’s obvious they take great care of and pride in the villa. Thank you! On the top/street level, there are 4 comfortable bedrooms, each with individual air conditioners and lots of closet space, and 2 full baths. Two rooms face the sea and share a terrace. Downstairs is a large living/dining room facing the sea, the kitchen, a smaller bedroom with little closet space, and one full bath. This bedroom does not have air conditioning. There are a lot of doors and windows that provide good cross-breezes. The villa provides a lot of cooking pots/pans, plates, utensils, wine glasses, small beverage glasses, coffee cups, Bialetti stovetop coffee maker, dishwasher and detergent, dish soap, clothes washer and detergent (no clothes dryer), gas grill, beach towels, bath towels, hand soap, an iron, and three hair dryers. No shampoo or bath soap. There are 140 steps down to the sea. There is no beach, but a stone landing from which to enter the crystal clear sea amid the characteristic rocks. The large swimming area is roped off to protect from the boat lane. Villa has sea equipment: shoes and noodles! The hot tub was clean and warm. Nerano is a small fishing village, with several good restaurants. We particularly liked Maria Grazia. We hired a private boat and captain for a day’s excursion with Cooperativa S. Antonio driving around Capri, stopping for lunch, and going to less-touristy spots to jump out and swim. Driving to Nerano is an adventure, with hair-pin curves and narrow roads, which is typical of the area. If you rent a car, rent small! There is a grocery store – Conad – about 15 minutes from the Villa via the curviest part of the drive. GPS worked well. We took day trips to Pompeii and Positano. Positano was disappointing – it’s one big tourist mall.We had a great lunch at Wine-dark House.
Nerano/Marina Cantone - Villa Flori: Stayed with our 3 adult children and their spouses/significant others end of May & first few days of June. This 4 bedroom+ seaside villa is awesome. Immaculately clean (obvious great pride of ownership), spectacular on and over-the-water views, direct and private access to the water, lots of decks both in the sun and shaded, a new, 7 person (we put all 8 in) hot tub overlooking the coast, ping pong table on one of the covered decks, great beds and comfortable bedding, great showers indoor and out, independent heating and cooling HVAC for each room. Very spacious, even for 4 adult couples. The owners welcomed us with prosecco and lemoncello and were extremely helpful with recommendations for just about everything (even the local market delivery service). We visited Positano and Amalfi, kayaked and even did both an all day boat charter and an all day zodiac boat rental from the local Marina (5 minute walk). For us, staying in this charming, small and uncrowded seaside village was hands down better than 24-7 battling the crowds of the “name” coastal towns, which were close enough by boat or taxi. Lots of stairs, which we liked but can be an issue for some. An unqualified recommendation from us!
