Stayed Mar 25, 2026Since there aren’t many reviews for this location. I will provide a somewhat detailed one. The House:It is a stunning home in a picturesque rural setting. It has all the modern conveniences including a state of the art kitchen and ensuite bathrooms with shower in each of the bedrooms. It is , however situated in a rural community about an hour’s drive from the airport. We rented a mid-size car which was a tight squeeze getting up the driveway. The location is near a hiking hub with nice flat levadas only several blocks away. There is also a general store and bar within a short walk with most essentials. The Property Management Team:The Homie Group was always responsive to any questions. The place was neat and tidy on arrival. Their rep met us on arrival to show us the place and presented us with a nice gift of port, water and a banana. Driving;If you rent a car in Madeira be prepared for many, many tunnels and steep mountain curves and hills. You are in a volcano. Things to Do:Besides hiking we went into Funchal and did both a Tuk Tuk ride and a 2 km trip down the mountain in a toboggan. This is such a fun experience and should not be missed. We dined at Mak Tub pub and Joe’s bar. Both were good. Our preference was the outdoor patio and food at Joe’s. You will also get to pet a few pet cats at Joe’sAll-in-all a nice pleasant week at a lovely home. ;
