Villa Aurelia, Plesio, Italy

Great place, very nice and comfortable. Only reason it doesnt get the top marks in all categories was that a few pieces of cutlery was dirty, but it wasnt a problem as the facilities allowed for easy handling.I would have loved some AC as it got very warm in the nights, but otherwise a fantastic house with stunning views.We had misinterpreted the add and thought it was a private pool, however it was right out the door and up a flight of stairs so it was easy access and only a few houses had access to it so we had it for ourselves almost all the time.

Lovely accommodation designed for comfort. Fabulous views, nice privacy, plenty of room, and very comfortable. Only issue was locating the property, be sure to follow the photo directions closely and be prepared to look back over your shoulder to see the last couple of landmarks. Make sure to note that you must have a car to get to this property, it is quite a ways up the hill from the water in a car is essential to get to and from town.

While the property was well equipped with cutlery, crockery, glasses and linen, it lacked basic cooking items such as salt & pepper, flour, sugar as well as dishwasher tablets, salt and rinse aid. This entailed a rapid visit to the supermarket but there were no instructions as to the nearest location. The freezer and barbecue were found to be dirty. The bathrooms were good and there was plenty of hot water. As it was very hot during our visit the lack of air conditioning became very apparent and the multiple fans did not provide much relief. The swimming pool was well maintained but lacked adequate shade and loungers. It should also be noted that it is shared with at least three other properties and could therefore become crowded if all were occupied. The garages could not be locked when accommodating a normal sized vehicle.

The shared pool was lovely to dip in early mornings and evening, never being overly crowded. It was a short drive to Menaggio, which was a bustling little town, great access to ferries etc to visit other towns. Only comment would be the narrow and steep approach and access to the underground parking. Fine in a small car, however tricky in a VW Transporter and any large estate car, I expect.

Magnificent views over lake como from lounge and double bed rooms. Need a car to get to and from the apartment and Menaggio. 2nd bathroom down 2 flights of stairs. Wonderful holiday apartment comfortable.

This property is immaculately clean and pristine. It's a wonderful quiet neighborhood overlooking the lake. We really loved this place. I would have issued 5 stars IF the cleaning procedures weren't onerous. Stripping all the beds, taking the trash to the curb, piling up towels, no dishwasher soap, etc.. you get my drift -- and there is a 220 Euro Cleaning fee -- that is the only part that bugged me. Overall we would stay here again -- just bring more supplies.

June 2017 Villa Aurelia is a wonderful place to stay during your visit to Lake Como. We have a young family and the villa was perfect - the little garden area at the front was wonderful for our two to run around when we were home! The villa itself was spotless and we loved the amenities it had, even including plastic cups and plates for the children. Our son loved the pool and went in it every day. The views were spectacular and the villa itself is in a great location. It's only a 5min drive down to Menaggio (in our opinion the most family friendly town in Como) but also with great access to the ferry for day trips to Varenna and Bellagio. And finally the host was great - fantastic communication and they even provided a travel cot on request. We would definitely recommend this villa for couples/families. Thanks so much! Lauren, UK
