Villa Ai Galli is a refined house to rent in Terracina, between Rome and Naples. The property is located in a typical mediterranean green area on the top of a hill with a breathtaking view, surrounded by a park of olive trees, almonds and prickly pears. Set in a peaceful area , the villa is only 15 minutes away from the center of Terracina (and the beach) and at a walkable distance from the Temple of Jupiter Anxur.
The large garden is completely enclosed and looks onto the Circeo Gulf. Itincludes a swimming-pool area with a large sunbathing panoramic terrace with an outdoor shower, loungers and umbrellas. A heart shaped terrace for al fresco dining in the evening, is located close to the main entrance of the house, equipped with garden furniture.
The accommodation has 3 double bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and two with a shower. The large living room includes a dining area for up to 8 guests, with access to a fully equipped kitchen. Decorated with hand made ceramics from Vietri, the kitchen has several facilities including dishwasher, washing machine, a six-place gas cooker and a very large oven. A big fridge and an adequate freezer are also provided. All the rooms have large windows offering a beautiful view of the Mediterranean sea. In the clear days the Islands of Ponza, Palmarola, Ventotene, Ischia and even Capri are often visible in the landscape through the windows. A free of charge private parking is provided. A bottle of Olive oil from the property is also provided free of charge
Terracina is a pleasant seaside resort in the south of the Lazio region, between Rome and Naples. It was an important port on the Roman Appian Way, and the site of a major temple to Jupiter. Nowadays the modern town spreads out on the plain below the hills, along a wide sandy beach which attracts many summer visitors.
The modern part of Terracina is pleasant, with wide tree-lined boulevards leading to the beach west of the port. The sea and the sand are the town's main attraction for many of its Italian summer visitors. Ferries depart from the port for the Pontine Islands. A boat-lined canal leads to the harbour from the old bus station area, passing the fish-hall where crates are loaded with fresh fish, and wizened old salts sit and chat on a terrace.
For more charm and historical interest, however, head for the Centro Storico, the old part of town. The heart of historical Terracina is Piazza del Municipio, a pretty piazza containing paving stones from the Roman Forum, a crumbling archway, the town cathedral, the headquarters of the town council and the archaeological museum. Close by you can also see an ancient paved stretch of the Appian Way.
Terracina's most unusual and striking site is the Temple of Jupiter Anxur. Anxur was the ancient Volscian name for the town; Jupiter has generally been assumed to be the deity to whom the sanctuary was dedicated. The main part of the temple is gone, but the impressive vaulted base can be seen for miles, and no visitor to Terracina should miss a trip to the fascinating hilltop site with its superb views.
Terracina is reachable from Rome or from Naples and can be managed as a day trip from either city. The town does have its own railway station on a branch line, but it's only served by a couple of train services every day. If you are relying on public transport, you will find the frequent Cotral bus services more useful. For a speedier and more comfortable journey, however, the best method is to combine rail and bus travel. First you should take a train to Monte S. Biagio/Terracina Mare station on the Rome - Naples railway line. Only the slower train services - approximately hourly - stop at the station. Cotral buses to Terracina stop outside Monte S. Biagio/Terracina Mare station (generally on the far side of the road). Bus tickets cost €1,30 and can be bought at the bar inside the station (as can rail tickets). Cotri Buses are often available at €1,00 only and they sell tickets on board. The bus journey takes fifteen minutes - look out of the window to see interesting ruins dotted along this section of the Appian Way.

We loved this property! The owner, Andrea, could not have been more accommodating. The view was spectacular! The Villa spacious, but cozy. The grounds wandered with stone pathways lined by beautiful vegetation. The pool was perched on the hillside and meticulously maintained. We stayed for a month, with various family members coming and going. It slept 8 comfortably. It was a 1/2 hour walk to town and the beach. Car is helpful, however there is a bus stop near by. The exercise equipment and game room provided a lot of entertainment for the kids. Our best family vacation ever!

The villa is situated high above Terracina with amazing views of the bays. The property and pool were fantastic and met all our expectations - clean, well serviced with everything needed for a short stay. Table football and table tennis made great evening entertainment following a bbq. The host (Andrea) was very helpful with the booking and during the stay 5*. Only thing you need to have is a car, as the beach, shops and old town Terracina are just too far to walk to in mid summer.

We had a lovely time at Andrea’s villa. The villa is spotlessly clean and the views are wonderful. A car is essential to get into Terracina. Andrea gave us a lovely bottle of his homemade Olive oil which is delicious. I would definately recommend the villa for a wonderful peaceful holiday enjoying the views.

Our family of 4 stayed for 3 nights. The site is magnificent, high up on a hillside with wonderful views. The garden and terraces are planted with many different plants and trees, making for interesting exploring. There is a pool and shaded activities area also, so something for everyone’s interest. The house is well appointed with a lovely shaded patio on which to sit and enjoy the views. Beds were comfortable and the house has everything you need. Terracina has a lovely beach and good restaurants. Andrea was so pleasant to deal with and helpful and responsive any time we contacted him. We would highly recommend Andrea’s property!

My husband and I and our grown children came to Terracina for our grand daughters baptism. We are not beach fans but we loved the pool. Our host was so pleasant and welcoming. I have mobility issue so the many steps were a challenge but the view from the top was well worth it! We cooked in the well equipped kitchen and ate on the terrace overlooking the water and the city. The beds were comfortable and the house was so clean. Our host Andrea Gallo was a joy. He brought us a video of the making of the olive oil on the property and a sample bottle! I can’t say enough about this lovely home.

Good booking and communication with Andrea. Location was a little further out of the town than we expected, but the beautiful views and sunsets over the sea more than made up for it. The property had a lovely authentic charm, was clean and had good facilities including wifi and a large smart tv (a few more serving bowls would have been helpful). Maria and Andrea were very welcoming and hospitable. We would recommend this villa for those who are seeking to relax, wind down and get away from it all. We had a very special relaxing holiday with many lovely memories being made. Thank you both.

This property was absolutely incredible! Hidden amongst the hills, overlooking the sea, and with complete privacy, we could not have asked for more. The pool was wonderful - and our 5 year old preferred that to the beach! Location was also really great. Super close to the old historic city with so much to see and do. We will definitely be back as this was such a relaxing place to unwind! Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

A very nice property in a very nice location overlooking the sea and Terracina. The property was very clean and met all our expectations, so it was a peaceful and relaxing holiday enjoyed by all the family. Andrea and his family (the owners) of the property are very special people who were there to meet us, providing all the necessary information about the property and the surrounding area. The views from the property are incredible and would definitely recommend this property to others. Hopefully we will return ourselves sometime in the near future.

The photos on the website really don't do this modern, well designed, spotlessly clean, light and airy villa any justice - and you really have to see the views first hand to believe them. Andrea and his daughter Margherita welcomed us so warmly at the start of our stay, and were always available if we needed anything. Terracing is a great town/resort with a lovely old town, harbour and great beaches - but it is very hard to tear yourself away from the terraces, the games/gym area and the fantastic pool terrace! Our family had a really special week here, it's perfect.

Most of the time, pictures that you can see on websites are wonderful and when you visit the place, you are a little bit desappointed. For Andrea's house, it is the opposite, the view is really breathtaking and all the great comments I have read about Andrea's familly and their kindness are true. So do not hesitate to spend a few days at their home...
