VILLA 6/8 PEOPLE ON THE 2nd LINE OF THE SEA WITH PRIVATE POOL

We had a large group of people (our adult children with their spousees, friends). It was easy to arrenge barbecues to large group, cause there is a large roof terrace. If you are looking for parties and luxury, this is not for you. If you are looking for home with all necessarities, peaceful area and great views, this house is a home for you!

The villa is wonderful, the pool was lovely and the location was idyllic for a relaxing holiday. The villa would be perfect with a bit of investment to 'spruce it up a bit' but, apart from that, it is still a fantastic base for a holiday. Parent, the owner, and Catherine, the local representative, were perfect hosts and very accommodating when I requested a slight change in dates due to the availability of flights. Highly recommended.

We have stayed in the villa for 12 days in August. Helene and Franc (if I picked the name correctly) have been quite pleasant and responsive to our calls and requests. Overall, we are satisfied by our stay, but a couple of points could have been significantly improved. The advertisement of the villa has not mentioned several important problems: the villa is around 300-400m away from the nearest access by car and, thus, all heavy goods from shopping have to be carried by hands. The resort is densely packed with villas and there is no much privacy. The neighbor at the right-hand side looking from the entrance has been rude the very first night threatening us by the police even though we have not made any noise after 10pm, as the law clearly bans in the island. While Helene and Franc are certainly not responsible for these weaknesses, the advertisement omits these points and it is in some way misleading. The capacity of the villa is 8 persons, as stated. While this is technically correct having 8 bed spaces installed, the upper room contains quite a rudimentary room with a double bed placed in a small kitchen. Since this room is exposed to sunshine all day and without air-conditioning, it is commonly hot in there all night and it is not a pleasure for those who takes that bed. Get ready for huge cockroaches with the first sunset! The owners have not mentioned a word on this. We had to buy an insecticide spray as a matter of urgency the very first morning. Cleanness of the villa has not been up to the highest standards. The swimming pool was cleaned only around noon the next day upon our arrival, whereas the upper balcony and the barbecue have not been cleaned at all. Mould has been found under the microwave in the kitchen. We have been charged for cleaning at the beginning, but we have not clearly seen how this money contributed to cleanness, since we left the villa in a better state than we found it. WiFi connection has been weak all the time during our stay and it was even completely lost for 2 days. We understand this is a common problem in the island, but we do not quite understand why we were then charged a separate fee for this. The villa would benefit from additional investment. Air-conditioning is missing and the furniture seems poorly maintained. While we have a satisfying stay at the end of the day, we feel that it was not worth the money we paid.

If you stay at Helene and George PARENT, make sure you clean your place to laboratory standards otherwise you will loose money from deposit. Algis
