Unique Countryside Villa From The 17th Century, Close To Stockholm

Our time on Lovo (Drottningholm) was magical. The island is a national park, and we loved walking out our door and onto the island's many trails. And yet, we could also easily drive to sites around Stockholm and Lake Malaren. The house is so lovely. Everything is comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is very well-equipped--we made all of our meals there. There are flowers everywhere--inside and out. And it was SO quiet! The only sounds we heard were birds chirping and the clip-clop of the occasional horse being ridden down the lane. Lastly, the hosts were so lovely and hospitable. We will always remember our time here with fondness and wistfulness.

Everything that has been written about this property sounds like a fairy tale ... well ... it´s all absolutely true! The location is simply perfect if you wish to enjoy relaxing nature and have the beautiful city of Stockholm nearby. We came by car and obviously it´s handy to have a car for shopping for groceries but it´s not strictly necessary for visiting Stockholm. You can either go by bus to Brommaplan and then continue by underground to Stockholm city (40 minutes or go to Ekero and go by pendelbät-ferry (55 minutes) The villa is absolutely gorgeous and has been renovated by Britt and Mats to a perfect and comfortable modern standard while at the same time keeping the 17th century atmosphere intact, thus creating a very homely feeling. The large and bright kitchen contains everything you might need when cooking own meals on holiday. There is also a utility room with a washing machine, a dryer, an ironing board, ... everything you might wish for has been provided. Very relaxed check in and check out: on our first day we were heartily welcomed by Britt and Mats and on our last day they came to see us off and to wave goodbye. The house has plenty of spaces where you can sit together or alone, both inside (there´s a wonderful balcony!) and outside. Speaking of outside: Lovö has a large deer population. When cycling around you will often encounter deer. One day I went out to hang up some kitchen towels outside, there even was a deer in the garden! 300% recommendation!

We had a great time in Drottningholm; the property is great, especially the large garden and the family-friendly style. Communication as well as check-in and check-out was fast and perfect. We would love to come back on our next trip to Sweden. Thanks a lot for the hospitality!

One of the best rentals we ever had - the house lies between a forest and a horse farm. Really quiet and the setting is beautiful. Everything you possibly need for a nice holiday is available in the house. We liked the many candles and lights and the little winter garden. The heated floor was great for the winter rental - thanks for the sweets and the bowl of fruits - thanks for the christmas card. Close to the shops and close to Stockholm and only a 45 minute drive to Arlanda Airport. Our son used the small Guesthouse in the garden. Wifi worked great. We have just rented this beautiful property for a week and wish we could have stayed much longer. The property is spacious and light, and has been lovingly restored and decorated by its owners to a very high standard. It is very well equipped, very comfortable, and set in a lovely, secluded part of the countryside where the only noise is the sound of the birds and the rustle of the wind in the trees. If you want peace and quiet this is perfect, yet still only a 25 minute drive to the centre of Stockholm. The owners, Britt and Mats, are friendly, welcoming and very helpful, even leaving a charged travel card for the local transport network. The property has magnificent views, with a wonderful balcony and summer room to have breakfast in the morning sun and a separate summer house with deck for lunch. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back tomorrow. Be careful when following a satnav to get here however as it seems to want to take you down a very small, dirt track. Try to program in the address of the stables next door, then turn left!

We would highly recommend this villa to everybody! The villa is really beautiful and decorated with warm taste. The area is also very beautiful and quiet. The owners, Britt and Mats, are very hospitable and very kind. They really helped us out whilst having a problem with renting a car, due to missing creditcard. We had a fantastic stay in Britt and Mats's lovely house. Everything was just great. The house is perfectly equipped and very tastefully decorated. Everything was very clean and neat. We also enjoyed the wonderful garden and its patios. The house is situated betweeen forest, pastures, a golf course and lake Mälaren, so that you have the feeling of being far away from everything; however, it only takes a 50 minute ride by bike to get to the centre of Stockholm! By bus and underground, you can get there in 45 minutes, so that you do not need a car at all. There are various supermarkets where you can get everything (at Brommaplan, where you change from the underground to catch the 323 bus to get back to the house). Britt and Mats are very friendly and helpful, too, so that we can absolutely recommend this location. We would love to stay there again!

We spent a wonderful week in this fantastic house. The owners were very welcoming and were always happy to answer any questions we had. The house is beautiful inside and contains everything you could possibly need. It is only a 20 minute walk to the edge of the lake where you can swim and just a short drive into Stockholm and the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this property.

Imagine waking up to a deer outside your window, then walking to a lake for a private swim, then a thirty-minute,easy bike ride past Drottningholm Castle to a metro station where in 15 minutes you will be in the heart of Stockholm. If you don’t have a Swedish cousin that can loan you a bike for a week, you can rent one, or you can walk to a bus stop that can take you where you need to go. At Drottningholm you can even take a ferry to Stockholm. If you like golf or just like having a pear cider while you watch golfers, there is a beautiful golf course close by. The house is tucked away at the edge of the woods, behind a riding stable, so you really feel like you are in the country yet you are very close to a world class city. I had a Fourth of July Dinner Party for 8, and the well-organized kitchen had everything I needed. I was traveling without a car so the day I arrived, Britt met me at the Metro and drove me to the house after waiting for me to do a little shopping. I highly recommended this house to woman traveling alone, a family with children who would love the little red playhouse in the yard, or a couple who wants a romantic adventure. Be sure to take the wooden bike tour and the kayak tour of Stockholm.
