This newly renovated villa comprises 4 large bedrooms (one with ensuite), and a large family sized bathroom. It has a traditional hallway and small balcony offering spectacular views across the mountains and valley. Downstairs consists of a large lounge with woodburning stove (for the colder winter months), a dining room that seats 8, a newly fitted kitchen as well as a small shower and toilet, easily accessed from the pool.

With a private swimming pool; large terrace and well maintained garden it is the perfect place to enjoy the Tuscan sunshine and al fresco dining. The villa is surrounded by beautiful woodland with a number of picturesque nature walks featuring panoramic views over unspoilt countryside. If you are lucky you may spot eagles, wild boar or see the hundreds of fireflies that light up the garden in early summer.

It is just a 5 minute walk to the local bakery, selling fresh artisan bread. 10 minutes drive to the nearest town. 50 minutes from the coast (Lerichi, gateway to the spectacular world heritage site of Cinque Terre). It is an excellent base for which to plan excursions to Lucca, Florence and Pisa. There is ample parking, fantastic traditional local food available in restaurants just a short drive away. The Villa is tastefully furnished throughout and comfortably sleeps 9. It is also just 30 minutes from the local ski resort of Cerreto Laghi, great for skiing in the winter and walking in the summer.

This summer we had a truly wonderful stay in Philip and Anne’s beautiful old house. The house is located in a very quiet little village in the mountains of Tuscany, just a 10-minute drive from Fivizzano. The old bakery (a short walk to the next village) is an amazing experience, with delicious bread baked in a wood-fired oven. In the mornings you can enjoy a peaceful breakfast in the shade at the back of the house, while in the evenings the front is beautiful with the setting sun. Our children loved the swimming pool and it was hard to get them to leave for an activity (there’s plenty to do in the area). Do bring earplugs though, as the old church tower is nearby and rings throughout the night! We had a fantastic time and would love to come back again.

We cannot say enough great things about this villa in the mountains. If you need complete rest and adventure mixed into one then you must stay here. The facilities are excellent, you could cook up a 10 course banquet in the kitchen. The BBQ was also an amazing addition. Communication with the hosts was great and felt that we had everything we needed. The stunning swimming pool was such a great perk for us as a family. Equally the wild boar neighbour was an exciting addition. Do not be alarmed as he (or she) keeps herself distant. You must visit the local ski resort for mountain trails or just to explore the ski lift and get to the (near) top for the views. We were a family of five with our lovely sister in tow. We did trips to Lucca , La Spezia , a local vineyard and also many nearby mountain villages. We were going to do Pisa but decided we would stay and chill at the villa instead. It was that peaceful.
