The beach Villa was nice. Unfortunately 6 out of 7 days were gale force winds. Their was only 2 afternoons I could sit outside to enjoy a glass of wine and swim in the pool. Improvements definately need to be looked at. For executive villa I would have expected a nice bath tub to relax, a small area of fencing for dog so they don't run down to the beach and get eaten by Croc. The hallway light didn't work from the downstairs,Microwave door didn't close(had to slam it shut).Upstairs bathroom tiles need replacing and louvered screen looks like it has never been cleaned.Oven door still hasn't been sealed as per other previous review, but was still a nice place.

My granddaughter and myself stayed at this very special home. Beachfront Bliss is a very apt description. We had a very private relaxing holiday with the house providing everything we needed. We both loved the pool with total privacy.

We enjoyed the location and outside of this villa very much. The ocean view from the pool side was spectacular. It is not our 1st stay at Newell Beach. As far as the inside of this Villa is concerned it needs maintenance badly. The description of this place is not accurate and not worth $500+ per night. There is nothing “state of the art” or “gourmet”about the kitchen, except that it has stainless steel bench-tops. We chose this Villa because my husband is an ex-chef and his hobby on holidays is to cook. The oven thermostat is gone. The seals on the oven do not exist (melted away). The door on the griller/warmer does not close. Cooking pots were missing lids; not one complete set of pots, they were rusty and dirty. I had to use gumption on the inside of the pots to clean them before using them. The Dinner plates looked like something you would buy at a garage sale; not one complete set. Cutlery was made up of so many different sets eg. 4 Tablespoons for 12 or more forks and knives. Wendy did send lids for the pots the next day and when I explained the unacceptable state of the Villa; with Covid and everything, she organised to have the Villa cleaned again. It was filthy. I wish I could have uploaded the photos to back my comments. I do not like to write negative reports, but this needed to be posted so that others are prepared for their stay. Oh and be prepared for the Thatching roof in the bedroom downstairs, not lined with plaster but with cobwebs. We had four cockroaches and two spiders holiday with us in our room one night, so we took it upon ourselves to fumigate the room with surface spray to avoid any more joining us. I’m so glad this was not my Honey Moon!

Don't like choosing whether to stay in the pool or go to the beach? This is the property for you! Chill in the pool while gazing out at the ocean. Take 10 steps from the pool and walk along kilometres of unspoiled beach. Completely unplug in this quiet community in a beautiful part of the region. Hosts are friendly and responsive. Already planning a return visit!

We decided to treat ourselves and stayed here for our honeymoon, normally a place like this would be out of our budget for such a long stay but we are so glad we were able to stay somewhere like this for our honeymoon. The property was in the perfect location, it was worth staying for the location alone. Just far enough away from the big tourist destinations to feel secluded but close enough that it was convenient to go into town whenever we wanted. The takeaway shop just down the road had the best fish and chips, definitely recommend getting a meal from there. We loved watching the waves from the back deck and walks on the beach every day. The house was beautiful, plenty of space and would be great for a family or group to stay as well. We did have some troubles with a couple of things. The air con in the bedroom was not working properly for our whole stay, there were several lights not working including the pool light. We stayed from the Wednesday to the following Wednesday, by the time we realised the issues it was late Thursday night so we waited and tried calling the property manager first thing Friday morning, we tried calling a few times and left messages and eventually I emailed on the Saturday when our messages weren’t returned. We were told it had been very busy and they didn’t have time to get to all messages, it was a long weekend through the middle of our stay but we felt these were things that should be checked are working prior to guests staying. We also weren’t greeted on arrival and had called to let them know when we were arriving but got very minimal information about the property and where to find keys, we thought we would have someone to check us in and give us keys but arrived to an unlocked house and had to find all information from the guest information book. Overall it was an amazing place to stay, we understand that busy periods make it hard to fix issues quickly but it was disappointing that they were not resolved until the day before we left. Despite these small issues we would definitely recommend staying at this property we enjoyed our time here and were sad to leave.

The house was really well located in terms of being right on the beach and also close to the Mossman shops. Wendy responded to any questions very fast.

This property is great for families. The property was spacious enough for a family of 5. Very clean and tidy. It was that close to the beach I could monitor the kids playing on the beach from the kitchen. There is lots of room for the kids to play on the grass and beach. Stunning views across the bay to Port Douglas. This is your classic beach side holiday destination. Wonderful area to go fishing off the beach with your children.

Fantastic location right on the beach The property is aligned to look at Port Douglas across the bay but there are no picture windows looking out over the coral sea. Small areas of improvement could be a professional paint job. It is a well worn property maintained by a home handyman. A minor cost would be to replace the outdoor day sunbeds. They were broken and the cushions had had their day
