Stayed Jul 5, 2025Great property in a small village with a few local tavernas, shops, and a great bakery. The house is split over three floors and has two 'sides' severed by seperate staircases - the stairs from the open plan living room/diner/kitchen leads up to three beds on the first floor (two doubles and a twin) with a family bathroom with hidden washing machine, and then the playroom/bedroom on the top floor with a pool table, table football and a couple of futons. A separate living room with a TV and diner has stairs that lead to two further doubles each with en-suites. The top floor rooms on each side are open plan from the stairs so don't have doors. Given we were there as two families with 5 older kids (14-20), this split worked well - with the adults having the en-suite rooms and the kids sharing the other side of the house.Facilities in the house were fantastic - the kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. One of the great touches was the owner leaving all of there sundries that you need but never seems to be left - so loads of dishwasher tablets, soap, shampoo, toilet rolls, plasters etc.; a really simple thing that takes loads of stress away. The outside was fantastic with a great pool, small play area for little kids, outdoor dining table, fridge, BBQ & pizza oven and the most contested spot - the shady hammock. If your considering booking, just do it - you won't regret it.

Stayed Jul 27, 2024We had a wonderful week in this property. The pictures don't do it justice and it is very well appointed and comfortable. Our host Eirini and her husband were very welcoming and friendly and communication throughout was excellent. The location was perfect for us with tavernas and a mini market just a few minutes walk away and a short drive into the city and local attractions and the views from the villa were spectacular and the pool and games room kept the kids happy & occupied all week. We would highly recommend this property.

Stayed Jun 21, 2024Everything about this place was perfect. It was conveniently located within walking distance of several tavernas, a bakery and coffee shop, and a mini market. It was a beautiful and spacious place and our host was so nice and very helpful. I highly recommend this villa and would stay there again if ever in Crete again.

Stayed May 20, 2024We stayed for a week in this property which is beautifully furnished and kept up. It is better in person than the pictures and the host is lovely and responsive. Was always peaceful and quiet - birds singing in the morning and crickets cricketing inbthe night and a great view over the hills at any time. About 20 mins or so from town so its a beautiful place to relax and get away from the city. Super!

Stayed Sep 4, 2023The villa is very beautiful and tastefully decorated. The equipment leaves nothing to be desired: towels, bed linen, shampoo, kitchen utensils including spices/tea/coffee, etc. were more than sufficient. Drinks, raki and cake were provided as a welcome. The entire property is very well maintained. The view over the valley is beautiful. The location is very quiet. In the small village you can find everything: supermarket, bakery, restaurants, butcher, pharmacy. The hosts, Eirini and her husband, are very friendly and helpful. They made our stay special. Many thanks for that! We will be happy to come back. Ingeborg and Richard

Stayed Aug 19, 2023Having booked 5 villas through Vrbo in the last 10 years, this is the best! It was perfect. So well equipped, lovingly decorated, clean throughout, peaceful with a great sized pool and beautoful views. Eirinni was the perfect host, so kind and friendly. She was there to greet us, surprised us with a welcome cake that she had baked, some local snacks and raki. She checked in several times during our stay and had local advice if we needed it. The villa was so clean, the air con worked perfectly but the thing that surprised me was how thoughtfully Eirinni and her husband has equpped it. From the kitchen through to the lovely dining area, every kind of glassware, crockery and cooking equipment was on hand. By the washing machine was all of the laudry soaps etc, which isnt always the case. The bathrooms were great and again, had toiletries in case one had forgotten anything. The village was very nice, with two grocery stores, a butchers (closed for summer break on our visit), a pharmacy and two tavernas (again, one closed on our break). The bakery / cafe was the families favourite - great bread, pasteries and savories, coffee and ice cream. We found the villa location worked really well, not too far to get to Heraklion, the coast, and other sites, plus several large villages with plenty of restaurants within 15 mins drive. Thank you Eirinni for such a lovely stay, the villa was beautiful and you were the perfect host.

Stayed Aug 2, 2022Had an amazing holiday with my friends (group of 14 people) in this house. The owner was very sweet and caring. When we arrived in the middle of the night she was waiting for us and even made us a cake and small pastries. The owner also speaks very good English which adds to the convenience. The house was very clean and fully furnished. Beds were very nice and the air conditioning worked well. Incredibly beautiful view and a very nice pool were present. The owner is always there for you and even helps book taxis if the drivers don't speak English very well. We were very sorry to have to leave, because if we could we would have stayed all summer!

Stayed Jun 25, 2022If I could give this house and its incredibly welcoming hosts 10 stars, I would. The house is absolutely beautiful, incredibly well equipped with kitchen appliances and supplies and wonderful communal space as well as private areas and an awesome pool and a lovely terrace overlooking the Cretan hills. Myrtia Is a lovely town with tavernas and bakeries and butchers as well as the Kazantzakis museum. Compared to the hustle and bustle and relative impersonality of Heracleion, escaping to Myrtia felt like coming home. The owners were incredibly welcoming, responding to all questions promptly and leaving us a home baked cake along with plentiful wine. Realizing that we had traveled far from the United States, she even made us dinner the first night with a huge pot of a classic Greek dish of stuffed peppers. This was the first few days of a three week trip throughout Greece, and my 11-year-old was heartbroken to learn that we actually had to leave this beautiful home and would not be spending the entire three weeks there.
