The house is very charming and truly instagrammable, with a large, spectacular garden with lots of open spaces for a large group to roam about and kids to play. It's well equipped and everything was working perfectly, we had a great time barbecuing sardines and seafood bought from the excellent local produce. No need for a/c in the summer as the house is fresh even at peak heat hours. The parking is next to the kitchen, so it's very convenient to load/unload bags and shopping from/to the cars. The location is strategic, as there are plenty of supermarkets close by and Sesimbra and the Arrabida park is only a short drive away. The only point to be considered is that there's constant traffic from the road next to the house, which means there's a road hum, mostly audible on the outside as the inside is well-insulated. Also, the landlord lives in another house within the property which is very convenient for any requests or issues that can arise but can be a put-off if complete privacy is desired. Some of the mattresses were older, with springs, and can be hard on your back if you need softer ones, but some beds had newer modern mattresses that were quite nice. Overall we had a great experience as a group of 4 couples, a kid and a dog and would repeat without doubt!

We stayed with a party of 10 in the house, and is was convenient for all. It has a beautiful swimming pool and spacious private garden area. Easy access to Sesimbra, and beautiful local beaches. The host Isabel was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

The house itself is charming enough. Well equiped and well cleaned - a nice property. However I would advise you to check the sorrounding on google before you rent it. It is located right next to a roundabout and a highly trafficated road. This means that you will have constant noise from the traffic during your whole holiday. Further the location next to the road makes access in and out very difficult with your car. There is nothing worth seeing or doing in Santana, you have to go to Sesimbra. Since you cannot reach Sesimbra by foot or bycycle due to the heavy traffic, and taxis are very diffucult to get, you are dependent on your car.

When searching for a suitable property not too distant from Lisbon airport (under one hour) we found this delightful old house on the outskirts of the little village of Santana, and just a 10 minute drive to the busy little seaside town of Sesimbra. An old house, full of character, with a well maintained garden, an excellent pool with adjoining shower and toilet facilities, plenty of sunbeds - what more could you ask for? Our hostess, Isabel, was extremely helpful and wasted no time in dealing with one or two little problems which arose. Our extended family, some of whom joined us from the U.S., enjoyed the spacious rooms, and though there was no A/C it proved unnecessary, as this house was built to cope with high temperatures! All in all a most successful holiday . Pat Cooke

The villa is very charming, so the pictures don't lie. A very nice living room, perfect for having a late driknk, chatting or playing some trivial pursuit with the family/friends. The garden and grill place also offered fine places for enjoying the moment. The pool was bigger than expected and was really appreciated by the kids. We also found the kitchen good equipped

I write this review from all people who stayed with me in this wonderful place in July. I just want to say thank you for staying there. We are glad for choosing this property. It is useful place for people who want to relax in a swimming pool, eat a barbecue, which you can make on the territory of this villa. If you go there with your family it would be the best holiday you have ever had. There is a supermarket just 5 minutes walking from this villa and there is a delicious restaurant cross the road. We all liked staying there and we enjoyed it because we have chosen THIS house! And especially Esabel, who is an owner of this house is very very friendly and nice! Thanks for everything!

Great house, big fireplace (we were there in November). The original antique furniture is a nice special feature. Clean and comfortable. Really liked it. Rooms are spacious. Location is good. 35 minutes to Lisbon. 5 minutes from the sea and mountains. Great!

Our group of 5, including our two grown up sons and our daughter-in- law had a magnificent time. The large villa which is beautiful, contains many exquisite features, is well provided, and sits in a large garden with attractive pool. The location is perfect with shops nearby and there is even a very good restaurant just opposite. The quaint fishing village of Sesimbra is a 10 minute drive away, where a number of good restaurants are to be found. Along the coast to the North and East are beautiful quiet beaches approached through winding roads with compelling views of the coastline. The historic City of Lisbon, which has to be visited, is only an hour away. Although the villa does sit on a bit of a busy road, we were unaffected by it. The owner Isabel occupies the house alongside and is both charming and very helpful and speaks English fluently. The house would be great at any time of year. I could imagine enjoying the warmth from a roaring log fire in that magnificent and imposing fireplace. When we come back to the area, we will be sure to stay again.

We had a lovely time in this spacious clean and very well appointed property with a good swimming pool and much better than usual facilities. There are interesting places to visit locally though we would not especially recommend Sesimbra which is very busy. There are other local beaches which are easily accessible with a car and not busy. There are good local shops and restaurants. The only down side was the close proximity to the main road which is busy most of the day and night, but we had no problems driving locally. The owner is easily available and speaks excellent English and is very helpful.
