Malaga, Andalucia
The villa is situated on the edge of the quaint village of Archez and is accessed via a concrete driveway through its own private gated entrance. The property has stunning views of Mount Maroma and the National Park, which is less than 10 minuets drive, and across the villages of Archez and Canillas de Albaida, both of which are less than five minutes walk away and have small supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, a good selection of traditional bars and restaurants as well as some wonderful Spanish history and charm such as the 13th century bell tower in Archez. The entrance to the villa leads from the fully glazed terrace with table and chairs to enjoy dining in all seasons into the spacious air conditioned open plan lounge which has a light and airy traditional Spanish feel with a contemporary flat screen television and log burner for cosy winter evenings. This leads to the fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher, gas job and electric cooker and has French doors to the terrace and pool with further areas for outdoor dining and enjoying the sun and views over the mountains. Off the lounge is the first double bedroom with kingsize bed. Also off the lounge is the second bedroom with twin beds. The bathroom comprising of bath with shower over, wash basin, bidet and w.c. is also on the ground floor. Steps from the lounge lead up through a door to the mezzanine master double bedroom which has a dressing area and en-suite wet room. This bedroom also benefits from its own access through French doors to a secluded sun terrace with table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee and evening nightcap overlooking the pool and gardens with far reaching views across Maroma, Archez and Canillas de Albaida. Malaga airport is approximately 1 hours drive, Granada 1.5 hours and Seville, 2.5 hours. The beautiful beaches are approximately 20 minutes away and two 18 hole golf courses are within easy drive.
All good with villa but, local/mountain roads quite a challenge for us though.
What a stunning property! The views, the pool, the villa itself were all just stunning and we settled in right away. The pictures don’t do it justice and it’s bigger than the description makes out! The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms all a decent size .with much needed air conditioning (it hit 37c when we were there!) The little town of Árchez is so pretty and a short walk from the villa and we ate in two of the restaurants there and both were fabulous. (The vegan one was our fave ...surprising as we are all carnivores but the food was so tasty) My 9 and 7 year old loved the pool and the WiFi was strong (important for kids nowadays!!) and a short drive to Algarrobo meant we had a great beach and good supermarkets to hand. The market at Algarrobo (Saturday 9-1pm towards the Aldi) was lovely and we cane away with lots of spices and Spanish pottery! Within a short drive from the villa there is torre del mar which we absolutely loved! Sandy beaches and lovely restaurants galore. Nerja is also easily accessible but we were less keen as it was very busy. The shopping centre is brilliant (el ingenio) and nearby and also perfect for a day escaping the sun and hidin gin the air con! The owners were so helpful as was Tony who answered our questions and made check in so easy. Competa is a cute village a few mins drive from the villa and also offered some fab food and little shops. They had a fair there when we were there so it had a lovely atmosphere. The mountain roads are pretty scary driving initially (wrong side of the car and wrong side of the road for us ) and I recommend car sickness medicine for the kids as we had to pull over a couple of times as the roads are so windy but it worth it for the vista the villa offers and the utter tranquility! We would defo come back to stay as it was a very relaxing beak for us all ! Thank you for having us x
This villa is amazing, would recommend it to anyone, everything you could possibly want or need. The photos don't do it justice and the views are stunning. You need a car if you want to travel away from the villa but the setting is perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway with lovely local restaurants. Would definitely return.
A lovely house, very airy and spacious. Pool was gorgeous with stunning views from the pool area. A lovely breeze kept temperatures comfortable. Visited Competa most days for grocery shopping, coffee and a wander round. Highly recommended.
Had a very peaceful break in this lovely home. Archez is small and hilly, but had everything we needed. I would say you really need a car to enjoy this area fully.
My husband and I have just returned from 11 incredibly relaxing nights at Casa Buena Vista. Situated in the mountains, the views from this villa are spectacular from the pool, terrace & upstairs bedroom & terrace. A very peaceful area so I recommend a car as it's hilly of course! The supermarkets in both Archez & Canailla de Abedas are ample - the latter selling lovely bread & pastries. Bigger supermarkets available in Competa which is only a 10 minute drive away & very worthwhile visiting - go to the plaza & people watch having a meal or drink! The property is very well kept & had everything we needed. The pool is just fabulous for hot days - and it was very hot during our visit. You won't be disappointed by this place - I'm missing the views so much & we only got back yesterday. The owners are very helpful indeed.
Wow! Buena vista lives up to its name with amazing views accross the mountains. Such a peaceful location yet within easy walking distance of the lovely village of Archez, where you can buy fresh bread and groceries 7 days a week, as well as wondering around the pretty Spanish streets. The villa has the best of both worlds; a relaxed day by the Pool overlooking such a gorgeous landscape feels remote and peaceful, but when the kids got bored there was always an open air market, bazaar, or gelataria nearby to occupy them for an hour. Canillas and competa are less than 5 mins drive away and offer some great friendly restaurants and cafes and atmospheric tavernas. The villa had everything we needed (and we needed a lot being 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 tots) and the owners were really accommodating with any requirements and questions we had. The kitchen was modern and light with doors to the outdoor area for al fresco dining with ease and the sun room was a godsend on hotter days when the children needed a bit of shade while they ate. The shutters and air con made for cool nights and easy sleep and the overall feel of Buena vista was well thought out, very comfortable and above all, incredibly relaxing. A wonderful holiday - we will be sure to return!
