Stayed Sep 5, 2023We weren’t told how bad the road to enter was. Dirt, broken cobblestones, large mud puddles and deep ruts. Most places room for only one car. Took 20 minutes to go 2 miles. Wi-Fi is always going out so if someone wants to work, good luck. We were told someone would meet us at the gate. When we finally got to the gate it was deserted. Could not get a call to go through. Finally a car approached and led us to the resort which was a ways down. We, of course, had no idea it was there. Very poor welcome. The biggest saving was Pedro, their person in charge of all necessary problems. He responded right away and made the rest of our stay very pleasant.

Stayed Dec 23, 2021We got to work out all the bugs with the wonderful staff after Covid halted travelling, and we would definitely go back. The calmness, seclusion and views were exactly what we were looking for.

Stayed Jan 5, 2019Bob and I had a lovley time in Chacala. The unit that we rented was quite and comfortable. The area is very peaceful with great opportunities to see many different birds, lots of hiking, visiting with fellow visitors where the apartements are. We enjoyed going to cave beach. Often we were the only ones there. We would pack a picnic basket and Pedro would drive us to the beach in the Polaris. A adventure in itself! Pedro (Sandra and Carlos' sight manager) was very accomodating. He was so kind! We even went to a baptism party for his son and a birthday party for his mom. What a special experience! Sandra and Carlos were also very accomodating! Also checking to see if all was well. We enjoyed going to the nearby petroglyphs, and also the hot springs in Las VAras. Overall, a nice experience once we became accustomed to the isolation. Thank you Carlos, SAndra, and especially Pedro for a lovley stay at a beautiful resort! Bob and Brenda Kelowna BC

Stayed Feb 1, 2018We had a very enjoyable month stay at Vista Encantada. Our villa was beautifully furnished with leather couches, TV, very comfortable king size beds, modern appliances in the kitchen. But most importantly it was very quiet. You could see the ocean from the patio and watch wonderful sunsets. We can't say enough good things about the owners Carlos and Sandra and their staff, Pedro, Elva, Erica and Teemo. They all played a part in making our vacation memorable. A special thank you to Pedro who was our driver, our Spanish translator, our tour guide and a good friend. We would highly recommend this vacation property. Wayne & Sandy

Stayed Dec 29, 2017My sister and I stayed for one week over New Years. The unit itself is beautiful, surrounded by lush vegetation and with great views of the ocean. Both of the beds were super comfortable. The AC units worked great when needed. The property is in a gated community at the end of a 15-minute drive down a very poorly maintained dirt & cobble stone road (our rental car made it just fine). A 30 minute walk past that takes you to Playa Cuevas which is an amazing isolated beach - so cool! The place is not well stocked, so future travelers - make sure to pack dish soap, sponge, bleach and paper towels. We also brought a line to tie up so we could dry clothes. They do provide towels and linens and a very basic array of pots and pans. There was [1] bowl in the house. No broom. No extra trash bags. No lighter to turn the gas oven on. There is also NOT a lock box in the house for important items (passport/money etc.). Unfortunately, a very loud family was renting the other side of the duplex (5 adults + 2 children). They loved their loud music, the kids were constantly shouting, and they had a 4-wheeler that often had a hard time starting. Their pool turned a disgusting bright green. We had three days without them there and it was absolutely wonderful. Very peaceful. Pedro & David (caretakers of unit) were very kind. They brought us ice the first night and resupplied our water. However, when we communicated with them that the front door was no longer locking, their response was no problem, it'll be fine unlocked. Having had items stolen from other vacation rentals, we were very much not pleased with this answer. Items that need to be repaired: The front door lock as noted above. The downstairs window didn't lock until we switched out the lock with the upstairs one. The fan lights in the living room are not getting enough electricity and flicker badly (we took them out). One of the kitchen lights didn't work (bulbs from fan didn't work either). All in all, it was pleasant to be here once the neighbors left. This place would be an ideal writers retreat (once you've confirmed that the family wouldn't be next door). The unit was very comfortable with wonderful views of both the sunrise and sunset. The nature of this place is that it is a duplex. We highly recommend asking Sandra (owner) if the unit next door will be booked during your stay. If it's not rented, then get ready for a fabulous vacation.

Stayed Dec 23, 2017Stunning views and excellent staff. Fabulous Breakfast..... just overall perfection! We didn’t end up staying in this Villa, but they moved us to a condo, and it was great!! The semi-private beach was so breath taking, and for 50 pesos a person, they would take you there in the gator, (a small rental car won’t make it). We loved everything about it.... only thing we would suggest is maybe having an ice maker available. Too far to just drive to town for ice, but cold drinks are necessary! Lol.
