Stayed Jul 15, 2025We had a wonderful. peaceful 6 days in this villa and could have stayed here for our whole holiday. The house itself was beautifully presented with so much attention to detail. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we could need. The pool area is amazing with fantastic views over the sea to the islands. My teenage sons enjoyed the small gym area although the wonderful weather meant we didn't need to use the sauna. The fantastic BBQ area and outside kitchen meant we ate in most evenings, after which we could enjoy family games of pool in the games room. Magda and Alen were great hosts, very responsive and helpful. There was bread, fruit and meats waiting for us on our arrival and a waters edge table and complementary desserts when we ate at their restaurant which is well worth a visit. The villa is in a great location to visit Split, Dubrovnik and take boat trips the islands. We also did white water rafting during our stay and visited some secluded quiet beaches. All in all the villa exceeded our expectations and was even better than the photos portray. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Stayed Apr 4, 2024Absolutely brilliant! The house is beautiful and so welcoming. Magda has decorated every corner with care. Lots of quirky features. Great terraced garden and wonderful views. Great location although you do need a car unless you are a hiker. Central for Dubrovnik and Split as day trips with lots of Riveira resorts nearby. We had a great stay and we wanted for nothing. Thank you Magda for your hospitality. Xxx

Stayed Jun 20, 2023No surprises…this villa is exactly as it is portrayed, even better. Beautiful, quaint village on a hill overlooking Podgora, with every attention to detail in comfort and design. Their restaurant also idyllic - by the water in Podgora. Central - so Split and Dubrovnik easy to get to. If you get a chance to stay here, you’re very fortunate. As we were.

Stayed Apr 19, 2022My kids (9 and 11), parents (75 years old) and I spent 2 wonderful nights at this stunning home, but could have easily spent our entire Croatia visit here, using it as a base to explore areas to the north and south of Podgora/Makarska. Magda is an absolutely perfect host, going above and beyond all expectations! The house is an experience all to itself - renovated with love and attention to detail. A perfect stay!

Stayed Jul 30, 2019This villa is amazing! We stayed for a week in peak season with our two teenage daughters aged 14 and 17. This is probably the best villa we have ever stayed in. A converted old stone house with original features and modern additions. We loved it. It was exceptionally clean and well presented with great attention to detail and welcoming groceries and fruit. There were lots of clean towels, loo rolls, cleaning products and the little things you tend to forget were all catered for. The pool area was exceptional; raised above the level of the villa so that you can see the sea and islands to the front and have the majestic mountains as a backdrop. It was even more magical than the pictures suggested! We could easily spend the entire day just chilling out by the pool and observing the views and wildlife. The pool table in the loft room made for some competitive games of pool of an evening and was great entertainment for the teenagers! Magda and her family were excellent hosts and easily accessible via text. They run a restaurant on the sea front in Podgora where we ate one evening. We had a table reserved for us just a few feet from the water’s edge and we ate their delicious food, drank complimentary cocktails and watched an amazing sunset. I am a coeliac and was pleased to see there were lots of dishes that I could chose from. It was possible to walk from the villa down a winding track to the beach at Caklje. It took about 20 minutes. The walk back up was hard work so best avoided at very hot times of day! The surrounding village to the villa with its large church and some derelict houses was interesting to explore and photograph. We had a fantastic week here. Top tip 1: If like us you do not like crowded beaches and are prepared to walk a little way to find a more secluded, picturesque beach then check out Garma beach. You can park down the road in an olive grove and walk to it along small paths. Remember your wet shoes as all beaches are rocky. Top tip 2: mosquito repellent!

Stayed May 16, 2019Having never used home away (or similar) before this was an entirely new experience. New process and a brand new country we had never visited before! Magda and Alan looked after our every concern and exceeded all our expectations. The villa was beautiful- so very well thought out both inside and outside. There was everything there you could ever possibly need. Podgora was also extremely pleasant and our wonderful host’s restaurant is an absolute must- divine food. The Dalmatian coast, the villa and our hosts were perfect. We can’t wait to return to explore more.
