When I look out from the large window, like an eagle from its nest, high above the sea, alone, I feel a great sense of freedom. I experience how sheltered I am spending a week in this house, breathing Asturias, enjoying the full range of weather, and finding in Julio's hospitality a great enrichment, in a 200-year old house whose history I would love to hear a little about, what it could tell me, but there isn't enough time, and I would have to come back. Perhaps in winter because that's whenit's more beautiful, Julio says. Thank you very much. Günter N., May 2025.

Please ask for a SPECIAL OFFER for a long stay between Jan. 08 and Mar. 26, 2027, even for those 72 days.

Stand-alone stone house in a 2,000 sq.m. fully enclosed property situated in a quiet and nature-sorrounded 3-property cul-de-sac 25 meters above Arnao beach (Castrillón municipality) and very close to Salinas beach. The city of Avilés is 7 kms away and it takes half an hour to get either to Oviedo or to Gijón. There are big supermarkets and grocery shops1 mile from the house and being Asturias a culinary powerhouse, it's not surprise that in Salinas, also 1 mile from the house, there are 3 Michellin-star restaurants.

The property was originally built in the mid nineteenth century but has been recently fully restored and it is 80 meters from the beach. The property has 30 windows and 5 picture windows and no windowless rooms. It can confortabily accommodate 8 adults and a baby in a cot. Weekly housekeeping included. Beach towels always provided. Not recommended for lower-limb disable persons. Beach towels included. Free unlimited wifi and a 43 Smart TV in the loft upstairs.

This property is on a spectacular seacliff with 4 terraces facing the sea. The first terrace has direct access to the street, a nice garden, the main house, an additional lodge, and two places particularly panoramic: a viewpoint facing east and another one facing north which has a large table, ideal for outdoor meals. The second terrace has another garden and the sauna house. The third one is the largest garden in the property with 4 sunbeds and a corner bench for 6 persons facing north and with great views. Finally, the forth terrace is a bit wilder and has two comfortable deck chairs. Probably this is the most special place in the whole property. Right above there is a gate to access the highest part of the Northern Trail, a lane with breathtaking views.

Garden only wooden furniture: 4 sunbeds, 1 large table, 4 low tables, 3 benches, 3 armchairs and 10 folding chairs. There is an outdoor shower, 10 outdoor lamps and a BBQ. Coal and firing tablets provided.

Children. When necessary we place a safety gate on top of the stairs and we block 4 lower windows upstairs -there are still 7 windows left. We offer special mattresses' covers for small children, a well-equipped cot and a high chair free of charge.

Colder weather and stronger winds in winter are not a problem as the house is perfectly isolated and desired temperature can be set in each room.

Languages. The house manager speaks Spanish, English, German and French.

Library: 200+ books in Spanish, English, German, French and Italian.

Arnao beach -downstairs from the house- is very popular among surfers and more so Salinas beach only 2 kms away. We would highlight the nearby Arnao beach to Bayas beach sea trail as being one the most beautiful in Asturias, and the Arnao beach coral fossil reef as one of the best areas in the world to enjoy sea wildlife from the Devonian period (420-360 million years ago).

16 beaches in Asturias have been awarded a Blue Flag by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and Arnao beach is one of them. The Blue Flag eco-label is a certification that a beach meets its 29 stringent standards. These include standards for quality, safety, environmental education and information, the provision of services and general environmental management criteria.

Asturias airport is 10 minutes away. Nevertheless, planes are not heard nor seen from the house.

We stayed in this home for three weeks in June/July 2025 with three generations (ages 8 to mid-60s) and loved it. The house was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for a long stay, with weekly housekeeping. The area is hilly, and there are stairs in the house, so some mobility is needed. Asturias is stunning—lush green hills, cliffs, and cooler weather (with some rain). We spent many days at Arnao beach (5-min walk, with a café/bar) and Salinas (20-min walk or quick drive, with restaurants and shops). The water is cold, but our kids didn’t mind! We took day trips to Gijón, Oviedo, Avilés, Luarca, and Cudillero—driving to most, but also using the train from Piedras Blancas to Gijón, which was easy and on time.We often cooked in the small but well-stocked kitchen and used the charcoal grill. One of our favorite meals out was at Gloria – Esther y Nacho Manzano in Gijón. Also loved El Pez burro in Salinas Beach. Some restaurants required reservations for our larger group. The antique-style furniture at the home was comfortable, and the temperpedic-style mattresses was firm but comfortable. I worked from the house and the Wi-Fi was strong enough for video calls. The views were amazing, and the sound of waves at night was magical. The Senda Norte trail outside the house is hilly but beautiful, with cows, sheep, and horses along the way. We don’t speak much Spanish, but locals were mostly kind and patient. Overall, a wonderful base for exploring Asturias—highly recommended!

Julio’s home is perfect! The location is private, and the views are stunning! The beach is steps away, and the home backs to the costera norte! The home itself is lovely. Immaculate and tastefully decorated. The home is fully equipped with WiFi, and a smart TV( although why watch TV when you can watch the waves?) The kitchen is well equipped, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Julio and his house manager, Carmen are wonderful hosts; attentive, and kind, always ready to answer a question or give a recommendation for a great restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this lovely vacation home!

This home delivers everything that is promised on line and more. Julio was a wonderful host who communicated directly and offered so many options for things to do in the area. The vistas from the home are magical, especially when viewing a thunderstorm through the picture window in the living room. The caretaker, Carmen, met us to show us everything and helped me out when I left a bracelet in the home after locking the home. She is extremely kind. I would love to return sometime to beautiful Arnao Playa!

A very comfortable and we'll equipped house with à large garden on different levels in an amazing position on top of the cliffs. Julio provided us with lots of information about the area before we arrived and Carmen was there to welcome us and show us around when we arrived. It's a great house for a holiday by the coast and also close enough to the beautiful mountains inland. Wonderful!

We loved this beautifully renovated cottage on the top of the cliffs. So central for day trips to see all of Asturias but at the same time your private haven on the absolute seafront. My favourite thing was being able to sit in the huge picture window and read a book while watching the ocean and sky change through the day. (But watching the sunrise and sunsets from the house or the coastal path just behind it was also pretty wonderful). Julio is a very accommodating host ensuring you have any information or suggestions you need to make the most of your stay in this special part of Spain.

We stayed here for a week at the start of our tour of Northern Spain. A really nice house sat overlooking the sea with a 5 minute walk down to the beach. We made ourselves right at home here and spent many hours sitting admiring the fantastic views. The house is very conformtable and is well equipped and we would have no hesition in recommending to others,
