Private luxury villa with private pool in the nature of the Dordogne in Ladouze

We had a fantastic stay. The house was perfect for us - 3 generations of our family. Laura, our host, was wonderful. The pool and outside area was peefect. We enjoyed trips to local towns and markets and swimming in the river at Limeuil.

Property was everything we asked for and more. Plenty of space and things to do for the whole family, host was amazing and very helpfulGreat location with shops and restaurants near by. Will definitely be booking this property again next year. Laura thank you so much we all had a great time.

Great place with everything you could wish from a holiday. The pool was an added bonus for adults and children. I would definitely recommend.

Villa Douze is perfect, from the minute we got there to the minute we left for home we found everything brilliant. The villa has an enchanting character that adds to the holiday, wonderfully laid out with everything you need to get away from it all. The silence when sitting out on the patio is deafening, only the sound of owls hooting to break the silence. The pool is clean with good access, and plenty deep enough! The garden is wonderful, so much room, the forest is huge and defiantly worth exploring. Would we return? 100% yes, we’re already planning when to visit for next year, I really can’t recommend Villa Doize enough, an awesome property in an awesome area with an awesome host! We had an amazing Holiday at Villa Douze. As a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 children) there was so much room. The layout of the property works really well with the more social area's in the centre of the house making it easy to keep an eye on the kids whilst in the house. This really felt like a home from home. Very clean with a modern kitchen which was left stocked with some store cupboard essentials which always helps when travelling. The pool was fantastic, a big hit with the kids and adults alike (we had 37 degree temperatures on our visit). The location is great. Very quiet/peacefull. La Douze is very small but it has a Boulangery and a great butchers as well as a couple of bars. It's a great base to explore out around the region. Your nearest supermarket is 20 minutes away however pretty much everything is 20 minutes away in rural France. Check out the sky at night! Stunning star gazing in this rural location. Laura the host was fantastic. Very easy to communicate with and as she lives up the road also, she was on hand if needed for anything. I actually had a flat car tyre on my visit which was a real pain in the rural location. Laura was great. She actually picked the tyre up in her car and took it to a local garage who repaired the puncture, then returned at the end of the day. Amazing. As a group we do this trip every year and this was by far the best place we have stayed. Thanks Laura.

Laura's vilLa Douze was fantastic. Just what we wanted for peace,quiet and solitude...Great location for exploring the whole area.

We really enjoyed our stay this summer. Laura the owner was really helpful and on hand if needed. The house was great and just what we needed as a family. Plenty of space and a lovely setting. The outdoor space and pool were a real asset and being able to eat outdoors and under shelter next to the wood fired BBQ was a joy. Parts of the house were slightly in need of some tiding up - weeds in the patio etc but all very minor and understandable after 18 months of COVID restrictions. We would highly recommend this property and the area of the Dordogne - we enjoyed caves, Kayaking, crazy golf, a water park and theme park, night markets and day markets, great local restaurants and the proximity to local amenities. The location has all these benefits while also being out in the countryside, away from neighbours, in it's own little piece of tranquillity (when then kids (big and small!) weren't leaping noisily into the pool!). We will definitely visit again.

3 generations of our family came to celebrate the oldest members 70th birthday. Our family ranges from 70yrs - 4yrs, this Gitte is perfect for us all. The location is rural and peaceful with beautiful French villages close by. The hosts are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The Gitte is large enough to accommodate ALL our needs, kitchen is well equipped (an additional oven tray is the ONLY improvement I can suggest). There are ample games provided for both outside and in, lots of outdoor space to play and relax. My concerns over the temperature of unheated pool proved to be unnecessary as it was inviting and very well utilised during our stay in May. The undercover outdoor seating is great for bbq evening gatherings. Our hosts also arranged, at our request, a local chef to come in 1 night to cook for us, which was a highlight, local menu cooked by local chef - delicious. The Gitte is homely and comfortable and we would all happily return. Our only sadness is that we have to leave. This is 1 of those places you want to keep a secret.

We had a wonderful week at the villa - it is the best equipped rental place we've ever been. It was extremely clean, the hosts are lovely people, the pool is fantastic and the space inside and out is perfect for a big group, we loved it. The area is stunning, we can't recommend it highly enough and will certainly be going back!
