Just a few minutes from the historic center of Siena, yet immersed in a protected natural reserve, Podere Il Boschetto enjoys a setting of rare tranquility, surrounded by rolling hills, olive groves, and woodlands that change color with the seasons. Here, nature is an integral part of the experience: deer, porcupines, wild boar, and pheasants roam freely across the estate, in an area where hunting is prohibited and silence remains undisturbed.

It is a place that surprises with its perfect balance: the feeling of being far away from everything, with the city just beyond the hill.

Podere Il Boschetto is entirely reserved for guests and enclosed within a private estate that ensures complete privacy.

The villa is arranged over two floors, offering approximately 300 square meters of living space.

On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room and a dining room, both featuring fireplaces. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, designed for everyday use and suitable even for the most demanding cooks. A study provides a quiet, private space for reading or working. The interiors are furnished with a refined mix of antique pieces, wooden furnishings, rugs, and decorative objects. Large windows open onto the garden and olive groves, maintaining a constant connection with the surrounding landscape.

Upstairs, there are five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Surrounding the villa, the garden opens onto a private estate of approximately ten hectares, including olive groves and woodland, ensuring both privacy and seclusion. The swimming pool is set in a panoramic position within the garden, offering wide views over the hills and surrounding olive trees. During the summer months, it becomes the natural focal point of the day, providing a peaceful space for swimming and relaxation. Sun loungers and umbrellas are arranged around the pool, allowing guests to enjoy both sun and shade throughout the day. In the late afternoon and early evening, when temperatures become milder, the light across the landscape creates a particularly calm and welcoming atmosphere.

Several outdoor living areas are also available, including gazebos furnished with comfortable seating—ideal for reading, conversation, or enjoying an aperitivo in the evening. Outdoor dining areas are located close to the house, making it possible to dine al fresco from spring through early autumn, while the barbecue area offers a simple and convivial setting for informal lunches and dinners.

The villa is equipped with carefully selected comforts to ensure an independent and relaxing stay, while preserving the authentic character of a private Tuscan home immersed in its natural surroundings.

We had an amazing stay! This place exceeded our expectations! We had everything we needed and the host is very good at communicating. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

If I could give this property 100 stars, I would! We had such a fabulous time on this trip. The house is so picturesque and feels like stepping into a dream. The grounds are meticulously maintained, the home was tidy and we were greeted by the kindest man upon arrival. Our kids spent their time wandering through the olive trees, playing endless ping pong tournaments and braving the colder weather and jumping in the pool. My husband and I enjoyed drinking espresso by the fireplace, watching the sunset over the Tuscan valley every night and wine tasting in the gardens. If we could live in this house, we would! We cannot wait to come back and, hopefully, spend an entire summer. Hosts: Incredibly responsive and helpful. They even contacted the bus station and local police on our behalf when our son's backpack was left on the bus. Transportation: As a family of six, the only change I would have made was to rent a car. The bus was very close and convenient, but with only speaking a little Italian and trying to navigate the bus schedule and apps, we spent many frustrating moments stuck without transportation. If you are traveling with older children or solo, the bus system is amazing, but takes patience to learn and understand. Our children are ages 4-10, so a car rental would have been a bit more convenient. Location: Siena is amazing and we felt very safe. The house is about a 10 minute bus ride from town. You can find a grocery store at the main city stop.

We stayed for the month of September and feel it was just what we expected from the reviews and price. Everything was a bit tired and needed some maintenance, but there is lots of room and we enjoyed the authenticity of the experience. The pool was great and we enjoyed the outdoor space. We had hoped to rent bikes and/or walk into town, but the roads around the villa are much too narrow. The bus is easy and the stop is just across the road, but the last bus from town is around 8:30 so not workable for dinner. You will need a rental car and the drive to closest Siena parking was only 8 minutes.

My family of 7 had a lovely stay at il Boschetto. The house is as described with well- loved and charming older furniture. We didn't care. We had plenty of room to spread out.The view from the upstairs windows is beautiful. We knew the pool would not be open yet, but still spent time with cocktails out in the yard and enjoyed walking the property (saw wild boar, quail, owls!). My son cooked dinner on the outdoor brick grill. We had some chilly weather and made a fire in the living room. Michael (caretaker) was amazing and came quickly when we had an issue. The location is close to everything, but the road is not for walking as cars are driving fast and limited visibility.

Our group of 5 spent a lovely week at the Il Boschetto in early May 2025 as our homebase for exploring the Hill towns of Tuscany by rental car. As mentioned in all reviews the Villa was spacious, nicely decorated with well worn antiques, with a well equipped kitchen. We had a great time and would recommend the property to others. However, here are a couple updates that would have helped us set our expectations for 2025 since most of the reviews I went by are 7 yrs old....We were disappointed to find that the infinity pool that is featured so highly in the property description was covered by an ugly black rubber tarp that had several inches of muddy water in it, spoiling the backyard views and attracting bugs. The host explained that the pool is actually open only between June and September. We had absolutely lovely warm late spring Tuscan weather during our week and would have enjoyed using the backyard more if the pool was not such an eye sore. The property is overgrown to the point where most views of the stunning countryside from the house windows are blocked by tree limbs. We found walking on the extremely narrow and winding roads of Siena far too dangerous to risk. We ended up driving and parking in town. Obtaining a bus ticket required walking into the tobacco store since tickets were not available to purchase on the bus or online.

It was really the perfect place for us: 11 people and very different expectations but everyone found what he liked …. You have a great pool, which we used every day, especially the kids. You are close to the city of Siena with all the culture but still don’t feel it, when you are in the house. It feels like living in the countryside . Barbara, the owner, and Michele who supports are very responsive and helpful. All in all it was the perfect holiday !

The location was excellent, 30 minute walk (2.1 km) to the main gate of Siena or 15 minute bus ride (bus stop 25 meters from the house). The home is beautiful, lots of amenities, it was very rustic. The pool area could use a good trimming, the online photos showed the property better than it actually was but not too far off.

The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the house can easily accommodate 10 people. The property is located in a wealthy enclave of Siena minutes from town yet it is completely private. The views are breathtaking and the property is gorgeous.

We were 5 adults 60+ in age. The ease of catching a bus or walking into town is fabulous. The Pizzaria that is just down the road a short ways is a great place to have morning coffee and pastries or buy groceries and prepared food. We enjoyed every day !
