COMMUNITY: DeBordieu Colony is a very private oceanfront gated community located near Pawleys Island South Carolina on the coast between Charleston and Myrtle Beach. For a fee, most homes and villas offer onsite private DeBordieu Club amenities such as golf tennis and multiple dining options to DeBordieu Rentals guests. Our natural amenities include miles of beach and tidal creeks an on-site nature preserve with walking trails and bike paths and a delightful year round climate. DeBordieu is more than a vacation destination it is also home to a small number of fortunate folks that enjoy the finest Low Country Lifestyle as either permanent residents or second home owners. MAXIMUM CARS: The maximum number of cars allowed for this property is 2. The DeBordieu Colony Community Association charges each vehicle a $20 fee to enter the community, up to a maximum matching the number of bedrooms in the rental property.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP: This home has a Social Membership which gives you access to the 2 community pools at the Beach Club and dining. A temporary club membership can be arranged for $200 a day. The gate did not have us in the computer and we had to back to the rental office. Also had the wrong arrival date. We like the location and size but the interiors need refreshing .the drapes are terrible. Overall the space needs a thorough cleaning .the usual , owner doesn't want to spend money and wants more rent. At some point people stop renting. Perfect location. Probably needs a Keurig. The floor in the master bath needs deep cleaning.they need to replace the sliding glass door. Can't see the ocean
Good experience, same as last year. One thing that needs to be addressed is that the sliding glass door going to the beach could not be locked. looked to me like the striker plate is rusted away.
We have been staying in this villa since 2015 and it is Sadly in need of repair. We are thinking of finding another one for our next trip.
Many thanks to the Rental staff for obtaining a functioning TV and repairing the king bed in the Master Bedroom. The unit should have a Keurig coffee maker these days. The location is perfect...a beautiful view of the beach and crashing waves. The front porch is delightful in the afternoon shade. The Pioneer Pool was perfect for our grandchildren. Finally, the proximity to the Blue Heron Grill was great for quick meals of snacks.
This was a nice condo with functional amenities. The unit was conveniently located ocean front, near community pool and Beach Club - but was still Hirt and private. Most furniture pieces were comfortable but all furnishings and kitchen could use an update.
View and access to the beach is great.
We love this unit and have stayed there for several years now. Our only complaint is the master bed. It is very squeaky and the mattress is hard. But other wise we've always enjoyed our stay. Also, for the linen service: is there is any way to get sheets that aren't so scratchy? They are crunchy and make a lot of noise. Thanks!
Since selling our DeBordieu beach house, we have stayed at Villa D'Amore multiple times and will rent it in the future. It is a quiet break for the two of us from when we rent for all 17 of us the Kitchens' Creek House in July every year. Steam cleaning or otherwise cleaning the living room furniture fabric since our last stay there was an improvement, as I was allergic to its previous strong mildew odor... especially the sofa. The baths are very nice and the kitchen is fine... in a few years new appliances may be a good idea. Its location is superb.
We had problems with the TV in master bedroom for the first 4 days...could not tune it in. Finally called management about it, they sent someone out, did not work, so cable company had to come out and change the box and all clickers. There was not a toaster oven or toaster and we brought bagels for breakfast, so that was a challenge. We did not starve. I guess the style of this condo is shabby chic and by day 3 the shabby part in the living room was real noticeable. Needs an update. Otherwise good visit.
