Welcome to The Nautilus – Manhattan Beachfront Retreat, a north-facing oceanfront duplex located directly on Manhattan Beach’s iconic Strand. This two-story luxury retreat offers panoramic coastal views, contemporary beachside interiors, and a peaceful yet connected location just steps from the sand. Designed for couples, families, or professionals, this home delivers the best of Southern California living—relaxation, beauty, and walkable access to shops, dining, and oceanfront adventure.

THE SPACE:

Experience the ultimate coastal getaway in this thoughtfully designed oceanfront duplex, where elevated comfort meets breathtaking Pacific views.

On the top floor, the primary bedroom opens to a private balcony overlooking the water, creating a tranquil space to wake up to the ocean breeze or unwind with sunset skies. A second bedroom on this level also features a king bed, 10 ft ceilings, and blackout curtains, providing a restful, quiet escape with seamless access to the main living areas. Downstairs, a single sleeper chair near the entrance accommodates an additional guest if needed. Please note that this is not a traditional pull-out bed.

This home also features a memory foam cot, similar to those found in hotels, for added flexibility. The cot can be set up in the convertible bedroom space on the first floor, next to the pull-out sleeper sofas, providing an extra comfortable sleeping option for an additional guest.

The kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances, including a Viking oven range,a Miele convection oven, a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, a two-drawer dishwasher, microwave, French press, pour-over coffee station, wine fridge, toaster, blender, and electric kettle. Whether you`re cooking in or bringing food home, this space was designed for functionality and flow.

The living and dining areas are open and sunlit, framed by west-facing windows that bring the ocean into every moment of your stay. Two private balconies invite you to soak in panoramic views from Palos Verdes to Malibu, offering front-row seats to dolphins, surfers, and some of Southern California’s most beautiful sunsets.

Enjoy cooking at the rotisserie BBQ while taking in uninterrupted views of the beach and ocean. Multiple seating areas on the balconies, patio, and sunroom offer perfect spots to relax and admire the beautiful beach scenery throughout the day. A direct beach view, along with a public sand court located directly out front and easily accessible, further enhances the outdoor experience. Mounts for shore fishing are also available.

The home includes air conditioning via mini-split systems, central heating, a washer and dryer, smart TVs in both bedrooms and the kitchen, and a private one-car garage. Guests will also find premium beach gear, a handheld steamer, and everything needed for a comfortable extended stay.

Outside, you’ll have access to shared outdoor amenities with the adjacent unit, including a furnished patio, a shaded cabana, lawn chairs, grill, and a cozy firepit area. These shared spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we’re happy to coordinate time slots upon request.

Guests will appreciate the convenience of a small grocery store, coffee shop, and several restaurants located within two blocks of the property. For those looking to explore, it is a scenic walk along the Strand sidewalk to downtown and the iconic pier, offering beautiful ocean views along the way.

PLEASE NOTE: The property immediately to the north is undergoing a full home rebuild. While the schedule fluctuates, you will experience construction activity, trucks and noise during permitted hours. The City of Manhattan Beach enforces strict regulations to minimize disturbances, allowing work only Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and strictly prohibiting construction on Sundays and City-observed holidays.

Quiet hours are strictly observed from 10 PM to 8 AM to ensure a peaceful experience for everyone.

The Nautilus is a private residence with its own separate entry and interior living space. Some outdoor features—including the firepit, Adirondack chairs, grill, cabana, and beachfront patio—are shared with the adjacent unit, The Triton. If one group is using the cabana, the other is welcome to use the alternate seating area or firepit. For specific timing, reach out and we’ll be glad to help coordinate.

This home includes a private garage with one available parking space and one tandem spot directly in front. Street parking is limited in Manhattan Beach, so we recommend limiting your group to two vehicles and being mindful of local parking signs to avoid citations.

NEIGHBORHOOD INFO: This home is located directly on The Strand, one of the most scenic and sought-after beachfront paths in California. Just steps from your door, you’ll find volleyball courts, sandy stretches for sunbathing or paddleboarding, and endless opportunities to walk, bike, or jog along the coast.

A short two-block walk uphill leads to Highland Avenue, home to local coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. A little further is the Manhattan Beach Village, where you’ll find upscale dining, wellness studios, and the beloved Manhattan Beach Pier. The nearby Roundhouse Aquarium, scenic trails in Palos Verdes, and the beach towns of Venice, Santa Monica, and Malibu are all easy day trips.

This property is located approximately 6 miles miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and 9.5 miles miles from SoFi Stadium.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: This is not a party home. While both The Nautilus and The Triton are available to rent together for larger groups, guests must respect the quiet, residential nature of this community. Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 10 PM to 8 AM. We welcome families and friend groups but ask that all gatherings remain considerate to neighbors.

All guests are required to sign a Rental Agreement before check-in. A 14% transient occupancy tax will be applied to all stays under 30 days, in accordance with Manhattan Beach regulations.

Smoking or vaping is prohibited on the property and along The Strand. A minimum $250 fine will apply for any violations.

Pets must be approved in writing prior to arrival. Only small dogs are permitted with approval. Large dogs and cats are not permitted. Unauthorized animals or non-compliance may result in a charge of up to $1,000 and/or eviction, in addition to any other legal remedies available to the Owner and/or Company. Any damages or additional cleaning required due to the presence of a pet will be billed after check-out.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended, as refunds are not issued outside of our stated cancellation policy.

Utility Usage: Utilities are included up to the property’s recent average usage. Any excessive use above that amount may result in additional charges. If applicable, payment for utility overages is due within 14 days of check-out.

- By booking with us, you agree to sign our Rental Agreement. Your check-in instructions will be provided after successfully signing the Rental Agreement.

- In California, guests staying over 30 nights are required to sign a legal CAR form with the DRE. Our Broker of Record will send you this form for signature once payment is made. Your reservation will be considered complete once the form is signed.

- Pets must be approved in writing prior to arrival. Only small dogs are permitted with approval. Large dogs and cats are not permitted. Unauthorized animals or non-compliance may result in a charge of up to $1,000 and/or eviction, in addition to any other legal remedies available to the Owner and/or Company. Any damages or additional cleaning required due to the presence of a pet will be billed after check-out.

- Any items left behind after check-out will incur a shipping fee, along with an additional service fee of $25.

- A minimum charge of $25 will apply for lost or unreturned keys, fobs, or access cards. Please ensure all items are returned before check-out.

    Location is great! About a mile or 20 minute walk to Manhattan Pier. House sits right on The Strand. Kitchen is well stocked lots of plates; knives wine glasses pots and pans and a full spice rack. Beds were comfortable; the splits in the living room and two main bedrooms were great at night. Communication was AWESOME! Often within moments I had answers, they even allowed us to check in early when I asked if we could drop our bags off until check in. My only disappointment with the house was usability of the outdoor space- which was the reason we rented it- the “grass” area right above the beach was not private at all. You share the common space with the renters in the Triton which wasn’t the challenge- everyone walking passed brought their dogs up into that area and one day some random guy just took a seat and hung out. When I came out to sit in the area he asked if he could stay?? The area behind the “cabana” doesn’t have a view and the “cabana” really doesn’t either as the windows are kinda high.

    This place was great. Right on the beach. Clean and great communication from the owners. Would 100% stay here again.
