A lovely tropical paradise! This property is breathtakingly gorgeous and very well-maintained. Our group of 6 adults had a very enjoyable time here. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are quite comfortable. The kitchen is adequate (note: no microwave) and the gas stove worked well for us. We also used the outdoor cooking station (charcoal grill and sink) on several evenings. The pool is small but beautiful - we used it every day. The views are unbeatable and we saw a lot of local wildlife (monkeys, coati, iguanas, so many colorful birds!). We also enjoyed the butterfly garden that is just a short walk down the hill from this property. Rumi was a wonderful host. Despite being in a time zone several hours off from us, she was quickly responsive to all of our questions. We had a minor issue with the pool one day and she arranged to have someone out to fix it within hours - on a Sunday! Mario, the usual caretaker, was away the week we were there but his wife, Adelis, was very sweet and helpful. Note: this property is high up on a fairly steep mountain. Though only a mile or so from town (Montezuma), it took us about 25 minutes to walk down to the main road. We did not try to walk the whole way back up (we had a vehicle) but I would imagine it would take most people the better part of an hour to make the trek up the hill.

This was the worst VRBO experience that we have had since we started using this site over 15 years ago. I booked this property in December. This trip was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were celebrating my son's graduation from highschool and my other son's graduation from college. A month before we left, I began messasging the property owner through the VRBO website, letting him know how excited we were to come and wondering if there were better instructions to get to the property. I messaged several times and I never received a reply and began to get worried. When we got to Costa Rica, we began the long drive to the area. I attempted to call and no one answered. Once we got to the location, we began driving around narrow dirt roads looking for the property. After over an hour of hunting, we stopped at a small Sushi resturant in the area and asked for directions. The manager knew english and helped us..even getting in the car with my husband and driving around. Eventually they found the property but it was clearly not ready for guests. The person working on the property barely knew English so it was good that the restaurant manager was there to interpret. The worker gave us the number to the property manager. She told us that she did not have renters for the next 3 months as they were renovating the property. And told us we never paid. We texted her proof of payment. She apologized and said a lot of things happened to the owner throughout the year and they canceled all of the reservations for the year...except ours! So now we are stuck in a foreign country, no place to stay for 3 days, and it was getting dark! My husband was able to go on Google Maps and call around and found someone else that we could stay with for a few days. Thank goodness! We were all so disappointed we couldn't stay here. If we had known the property was unavailable in advance, we could have changed our vacation before we arrived. It really put a huge kink in our overall plans.

This is a well built property high on a hill up a dirt road outside of Montezuma. It really is not reasonably walkable into town as the road is very steep, dusty with significant traffic. The house is beautiful with wood and stucco architecture with a great open feel. It is a lovely place to relax with the pool, view, monkeys, fabulous plants, butterflies and birds. The on-site caretaker is wonderful. The place is in need of a little TLC with some evidence of dry rot, aging cushions and towels, ants infesting the dining room table and kitchen supplies that suggest the owner does not live there or doesn’t cook. A word of warning… many nights in February the howler monkeys are very loud starting about 5 am. Overall we had a great stay.

If your looking to be with one in nature then this property is for you. The property is serene and inviting. The outside of this house is the best part. Your own tropical oasis. However it does lack kitchen necessitiies. Either eat out or buy all your necessities after you arrive. It didn't bother us but i know there are people who would rather be catered to then this is not the property for you. There is a caretaker that lives on the property Mario. He is very welcoming and is here for anything you might want within reason. We were so excited to see the monkeys come right outside in back. The pool and the flora are wonderful. Wonderful house with a fabulous view in a setting of fruit trees filled with howler monkeys. We thoroughly enjoyed the groundskeeper who has transformed to property into something magical. The road to the house is steep but we managed it without difficulty. We were within walking distance to the falls which was an added bonus. The only negative was that we had to leave.

We enjoyed the walk to town every morning and the view was amazing. Even the monkeys howling was a wonderful treat to the trip. The house was super clean .

Beautiful property with nice view. It was quiet and private so good for relaxing. The house is bare bones, bring everything you need to get by. Only 2 pool chairs, so thankful our party of 4 turned out to be just the 2 of us. Mislead with description of property, but noticed its been recently changed.

The best decision I have ever made. The house the is simply perfect. The 360 views are breathtaking. We spent a week relaxing , shopping in Montezuma , and connecting with nature. The birds and wildlife in the yard changed my kids life! There is pretty good WiFi but we went screen free and reconnected with ourselves and nature. This house is the most amazingly open and beautiful location we have ever stayed. Thanks so much for sharing your villa!

Great stay, house and grounds were great. One problem- the kitchen faucet leaked and the pipe which drains the sink was backed up causing the sink to fill up. I finally got a plunger and was able to get the line to drain enough so that I could wash dishes. The house could use some maintenance issues.
