Spice of Life is a beautiful, family-sized villa located in the south of the stunning island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean, overlooking the Atlantic coast. Set on a tropical hillside, the villa benefits from the sea breeze all year round. It is situated at the less-developed end of the island in a small, private development comprising just 10 luxury villas, and offers well-equipped, spacious accommodation and a private pool. You can enjoy the villa purely as a luxurious, peaceful retreat from the daily grind, or as a base from which to explore the rest of this amazing island. Spice of Life is only 10 minutes from the second largest town, although once you've begun to unwind by the pool, you may not want to go anywhere else.
Other information: The kitchen is very well equipped with crockery for 12, glass selection, cutlery and wide variety of cooking equipment. Equipment includes: coffee machine; coffee grinder; ice bucket; bread maker; microwave; toaster; blender; and usual pots and pans.
We can arrange for hire car to be at airport, kitchen to be stocked, etc (to be paid on arrival).
At extra cost we can arrange a cook.
One of the maids will do babysitting (arrange locally).
There is a security guard 6pm-6am, gardeners and a pool maintenance man. The office is staffed during office hours and will be happy to help organise anything you may need.
As its St Lucia, they drive on the British side of the road and use UK style plugs.
St Lucia: St Lucia is, without doubt, the jewel of the Caribbean - a lush, tropical gem sitting between the calm Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. It offers an array of beautiful habitats, from steep coastlines and glorious beaches, to mountainous rainforest and stunning reefs. There's plenty to explore, whether you are in the mood for shopping in the bustling capital, Castries, trekking through the rainforest to take in the breathtaking spires of Les Pitons, or losing yourself in the history and culture of the island, such as the 18th century British fort or the annual jazz festival. On our website, you'll find some more detailed information about the island, as well as some useful links.
Not only is the host wonderful, the staff was lo great! Responses were timely and they were very helpful. The house is well stocked with essential that made our stay easy. Can’t wait to come back!
Wow. Where do i start. Place was perfect. More space than we needed given it was just us three. Felt like home. Super close to the airport which was convenient. Lovely restaurant Faye nearby. Bedrooms were great. Air conditioning / ceiling fans / and easy open windows with mesh for all your climate control needs. Not a bug to be seen indoors. I always need a steam iron and board. We do loads of laundry and everything was available. We did cook breakfast every day and it felt like home. Massy’s supermmarket was nearby as well. Our liaison Myrna was amazing in setting up airport pickup, our rental car, home chef for a nice St Lucian dinner with Mahi Mahi, our beach day meal reservations and anything we needed. She too felt like family. The pool was great. We used it the one day on day 5 when we were all so tired from all our prior daily expeditions. I wish we could have used more. Kyran thank you so much for accommodating us!! Best Syed
This villa is exactly as advertised. The pool is among the best we've had while staying in a private home through VRBO in the Caribbean. It is a short drive from the main airport and has pretty views of the water. The manager is extremely responsive and the staff are great. We are planning to stay here again in the future.
The property is lovely and catered perfectly for a family or 2 . We had all we needed and more . The personnel was friendly and helpful at reception. You feel very safe and in a secure environment . The children loved it I recommend it.
Great property. So much space and air. Split level for maximising the lovely Atlantic views and giving mixed groups some private space. No reason to leave the villa lovely big pool ( and a second estate pool nearby) and a massive garden to sit in and even have a picnic! The rooms are all bright and well ventilated. The Castles estate is very private and secluded and the on site team very helpful. We had 2 hire cars and travelled to the favourie spots. This often entailed an hour journey to the north of the island but perfectly manageable and useful stop offs to buy roadside. We dined out locally and especially enjoyed Tone's Back Yard. Antonio cooks a massive supper for a small number of guests at home and serves it in her own back yard. Great way to experience true local food. But we also enjoyed a great meal on the wonderful terrace at the Villa cooked by a chef who shopped at the local fish market and cooked in our kitchen. Memorable! The property was well equipped, spotlessly clean and a joy to live in - we can't wait to go back.
This a great villa - extremely well equipped with enough to keep all ages occupied (and teenagers away from screens). Loved the table tennis and relaxing space downstairs for when the pool wasn't in use. Views are superb - in fact our son was keen enough to be up to see the sunrise. You are spoilt for choice over what to do on the island. We particularly enjoyed the tour and zip lining at Morne Coubaril Estate near Soufriere and scuba diving at Sugar Reef. Another highlight was having local food cooked for us in the villa - organised by the ever helpful Bonnie. This a great place to relax and use as a base to explore. Sadly we were only there for a week - not nearly long enough.....
Have to agree with all previous reviewers, this property has to be seen to be believed. This villa has everything and I mean everything!!!! Spacious accomodation, large lounge area, large dining area, well equiped kitchen (it was like home from home),all 4 bedrooms are very large, two with ensuites. There is a fabulously large terrace which runs the full length of the property where you can enjoy coffee whilst planning your day, unless you decide to chill at the pool. There is also another full sized dining table on the terrace. The pool is also the full length of the property, with sunbathing all the way around it, and believe it or not, another full sized dining table. Very handy pool room with cupboards and poolside fridge for refreshments, saving a trip to the kitchen. The villa has been well maintained and is very well looked after, with meticulous attention from Bonnie and Sophie (management company); nothing we asked for was too much trouble. The gardens which surround the villa are mature and afford maximum privacy and you could be forgiven for missing the quiet pagoda at the front of the property, where you can sit and relax, enjoying a 'sundowner', or if you prefer enjoy it on the roof where the views are marvellous whether North, South, East or West. Can't finish my review without mentioning Hendrick's Bar at the bottom of the hill; we called there most days and couldn't have been treated better if we were royalty. All in all, the best way to enjoy a 1st Class stay on St. Lucia!! Oops, nearly forgot Ben's Jeeps; couldn't have gone to some of the more remote parts of the Island if we hadn't had the Jeep. Needless to say we have already booked our return trip for next year ....... can't wait!!!! Many thanks to the owners, Kyran & Lisa. Kindest regards, Judith & Vic Gilder
We stayed at Spice of Life for 15 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the villa. It has a beautiful terrace with splendid views across the countryside to the coast, just as great at night with the stars and the moon reflecting off the sea. The pool was excellent and used by all 7 visitors almost daily, the morning sun making the pool area a great place to relax. The main lounge was a great size and very comfortable and all the bedrooms were a great size with very comfortable beds, we all slept well. The gardens are a beautiful feature and the rocking chair allowed us to watch the birdlife at close range. All in all an excellent villa The place is well maintained and cleaned and tidied daily by Pauline, The on site manager, Bonnie was great at ensuring we did and saw the right things and booking anything that we wanted, We took advantage of the excellent cook who came in twice to cook meals at the villa - the seafood and fish dishes were excellent and the local vegetables were all a revelation, Thanks Kyran for an excellent stay and your help and we will certainly recommend the place and may well be back soon ourselves, a great escape from winter in Northern Europe. Recommended restaurants within a 20 minute drive are the Fox Grove, Debbie's and the Reef The pizza delivery knows how to find the villa and even the pizzas were fine. A little further afield don't miss the bar at Ladera for a sundowner with a brilliant view of the Pitons. Lunch at the Hotel du Chocolat was an experience try the chocolte making beforehand, not cheap but a great experience enjoyed by all.. Thanks for a wonderful time GTW
We spent two weeks in this property. Very close to the International Airport and you arein less than 10 minutes at home. Beautiful and very upscale property with an excellent on-site management that is available 24/7. Good access to all attractions and Rodney Bay is 45 minutes away. The same time you drive when arriving after a 12 hours flight. The house is very well equipped and you will find almost everything you have back home. Ideal to relax with the family and to enjoy sunny days in the well maintained swimming pool. Almost ideal to detox from work but the wireless connection is too tempting not to connect to your work email. All in all a very nice experience with very accommodating landlords. See you in Castle in Paradise
We have spent almost 2 weeks in this villa and were blown away by the location , views, amenities , superb service and pretty much everything about this place. What was very unique about the location is that we felt very safe and secure at all times without being isolated from a local life. Everything that you read in the description of this property is true, and there is more ; the hummingbirds early in the morning around the house enjoying flowers meticulously cared for by a gardeners , the stars you can watch from the roof terrace at night ( be sure to come with plenty of wishes , I've never seen so many falling stars ) , the morning coffee you can enjoy watching the Savannes Bay from huge balcony two steps from your bedroom. There are beautiful beaches , waterfalls , gardens, scenic viewpoints all within 10-15minutes drive. The entire complex is well maintained and cared for, the stuff was extremely friendly and helpful and so were the owners – Thank You. I’m already planning my next visit and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody. Marius - Chicago
