We loved staying at Villa La Memoria dell'Acqua! Our hosts were gracious and greeted us with a welcome cake and bottle of wine. The house was perfect for our two families of 4 each. There is a barbecue area. Two kitchens, a new ping pong table. The pool area is well equipped with 11 pool loungers. There is a private access to the beach which is very sandy and shallow without much dropoff and very private with very little people. There is also a little beach storage shed with chairs and other beach items. A perfect location for day trips to surrounding towns. Scicli is very close with great restaurants and the neighboring beach town has a number of restaurants too. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, the house is well appointed with attention to detail. Beds are comfortable too. There is aircon in every room. We will definitely be back!

The property is actually better than the pictures. There’s a short walk on a private path to the beach (200 meter?). And the beach is clean, with fine sand - good for all natural beach activities. A large supermarket is 2 min drive away where we could buy everything we needed. Bedrooms are large, kitchen well equipped.

We had THE BEST time at this house. As a party of 8 including our 6 yr old granddaughter, we found the accommodations fully suited our needs. We especially enjoyed the pool (clean AND the perfect temperature!) as well as the private access to our own beach where my children and granddaughter spent most of our vacation. My granddaughter particularly enjoyed clamming (with a rake provided by our hosts) in the shallow water and collected enough clams for our dinner. Some of our neighbors, who were experienced clam diggers, gave us lessons in efficient clam raking technique - they were much more successful, but we had more fun. The house itself was large enough to accommodate all of us comfortably, especially since we had really hot weather and spent our whole time outside. There is no indoor living room, although there are two kitchens. The air conditioning was more than adequate in the bedrooms and everyone slept comfortably. The bathrooms and outdoor shower were great and we never ran out of hot water. The pool was very popular for day and nighttime swimming as it was very warm. The house has several fruit trees on the well fenced property allowing our granddaughter to roam and provide us with unlimited fresh figs - they were delicious. The kitchen(s) were well equipped and were fine for preparing breakfast, lunches and a few dinners on the barbecue. There are nearby supermarkets, fish markets, bakeries as well as pharmacies. Don’t miss the Cannoli in Sicily, they are nothing like what you have eaten at home. BTW in Sicily, it’s Cannolo NOT Cannoli. Also, the local wines are very good and very reasonably priced. Drink a lot of water - it’s hot. Most of all, everyone from our hosts to the neighbors to the shopkeepers and clerks, were friendly and welcoming. Our hosts were easily accessible and more than willing to share their in-depth local knowledge and contacts. They were extremely helpful when one of our group got a little sick. He was sent to the Emergency Room in Modica where the owners sent a friend to check on him. The friend knew the nurse in charge - our friend was treated like royalty. He’s fine. There are many restaurants and beach clubs in the area that serve great food and can provide diversions for the family. Suggest you seek out the “no traffic” streets of Scicli’s old town for its' shops and restaurants. Go wandering. Maybe you’ll run into a shoot of Inspector Brunetti - we did.
