Green Forest Villa la Fortuna

We had a wonderful, relaxing, fun stay. The pool/hot tub was awesome!!! The entire home was inviting and comfortable for our family. It was a bonus to have the restaurant close by: they even delivered.

Loved this property. Great place to get some seclusion. The family loved the pool, table tennis and pool table. The trails by the river were amazing as well. I’d definitely recommend this property!

We had an amazing time during our stay in La Fortuna! Danny was very responsive and easy to get in touch with. Our original property that we booked, the pool was not ready, so we were moved to a different property. It definitely felt like an upgrade though! The property and was gorgeous and brand new! Each room was its own casita and the layout was really cool! We all loved it so much!! Excellent experience!

My friends and I had a great time here...the property was well maintained and clean...the host was on pointe and covered our every need. Only complaint was the beds were not comfortable. Overall, we would stay again

I can’t say enough great things about this house and the manager. It was exactly like the pictures and more. Danny helped coordinate a private chef and all our excursions and transportation. It was such an amazing time and we felt taken care of our whole visit.

This place is spacious, with shops and restaurants just a 2 minute walk, while still being secluded and private. The hot tub was definitely a plus. Lots of wildlife visits, and we found a sloth with a baby in the trees by the river, just a short walk away.If we weren’t sleeping, our entire group would be hanging out on the SPACIOUS patio, playing pool and ping pong, having drinks and snacks. Our host Danny, was responsive to any needs we had, but we didn’t need much. Completely satisfied!

Our group of 11 absolutely loved our stay at Villa Tortuga. The host, Jackie, was very communicative and checking in was a breeze. Everything inside and out was beautiful and clean. It truly felt like a luxury resort! Plenty of space for everyone to gather together for dinner or playing games, and a unique multi-level layout to give privacy as well. The property is well-equipped with A/C, an amazing chef's kitchen, and tons of towels.The location is spectacular with a stunning view of the ocean, and close to shops and restaurants. There was wildlife everywhere -- little anoles flitting about the property at night, sounds of monkeys calling to each other, and toucans flying right in front of the huge picture window! The kids had a blast playing in the pool and the adults loved getting massages and hanging out on the huge covered outdoor patio. Of course, all the other reviews are right -- the highlight of our stay was Chef Ricardo and his wife Alba making us amazing meals every day, even on Christmas! Our group is all vegetarian, and they were able to accommodate effortlessly. Every meal (breakfast and dinner) was delicious and unique, and they made a special Anniversary dinner one night as well. Not needing to cook (or clean!) kept us in vacation-mode our whole stay. They were wonderful company, and even allowed our 5 kids to help them make dinner one night, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.If we are fortunate to return to Costa Rica, we would 100% stay here again!

We loved our stay in this home. Pictures don’t do it justice. It was clean, peaceful, well-appointed. There’s a little river out behind the property that gets a lot of sloths in the summer. We had rain every day during our stay, so we didn’t get to hear any monkeys. We did see a few toucans and macaws flying by.We hired the chef to make us breakfast daily. We also used their tour office to help with transportation and activities. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. Then again, that’s everyone in Costa Rica!

The location of this house is perfect - it's only a 15-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna. We had tons of privacy for 8 adults and 3 children to celebrate the holidays and a retirement. The hot tub and pool were great after a day out and about, plus the grounds are lovely! Danny kept in touch with us throughout our entire week stay to make sure we had everything we needed, plus more! We were also put in touch with tour organizers and a private chef for wonderful meals. The restaurants in town are so delicious and Pollo Chachagua will deliver plated food right to your front door! The bakery, sodas and shops in the small town were all wonderful. :) Just a few things to note: The two downstairs rooms are accessible that way only - each has an en suite bath and one of them opens up to the pool area. The other room/bathroom has a few screens only so they hear all the noise. Better lighting, a nightstand here and there, some lamps and storage for the downstairs baths would be great. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time at the Green Forest Villa!

House was super clean and Danny took care of us really well and the communication was very good at anytime of the hour u call or text . The jouse is located with good access to grocery store and restaurents . I really liked the stay

This was a big house with more than enough space for the six adults in our group. We especially loved the pool and hot tub, and we could see hummingbirds from the back porch in the morning. Table tennis was a hit with some people in our group as well, and the food at the restaurant on the property was good. The listing description is generally accurate, and we'd happily stay here again. But the house could use a little TLC (minor repairs) in places, and some brighter lighting, and the kitchen isn't especially well equipped (but we're a family that likes to cook in).

We were looking to stay in the La Fortuna area and stayed at the property from 5/24 - 5/27 with a family of six because of it's unique location and layout. It was a perfect spot to hang out between excursions to the Arenal Waterfall and surrounding natural spots. The property is expansive and has wonderful meticulate landscaping. Lots of birds and wildlife all around. There is even a creek that runs through the property with trails for evening or morning walks. You truly feel like you're in the jungle. We spent most of our time in the upper pool, which was the perfect temperature for soaking through the jungle heat. Can't say enough about the pool! Each room has air conditioning, which provides relief from the sometimes intense heat and humidity outside. Be sure to watch the video Danny provided to access the property, as it's tucked behind a restaurant and a little tricky to find. The roads are a little scary to navigate and the place comes up on you fast. Also, we ate at the restaurant next door one evening and the food was excellent and much cheaper than tourist locations in La Fortuna. In retrospect, we should have eaten there each night. It's a great spot for a family, with the pool table and ping pong table on the patio. It's off the beaten path a little, but that was exactly what we were looking for. *Note: If you are coming from Liberia at night, consider driving the route that does not go around Lake Arenal as the road is narrow, and very windy.
