Stayed Jul 12, 2025This was a lovely spot and staff were nearly always immediately available to help (make sure you have What’s App on your phone). We had a little trouble getting to it initially, as Ocampo is a one way street. It’s helpful to know to access it from the Carreterra (main highway) by turning left - towards the lake- on Rio Bravo, then left onto Ocampo. The first night was really noisy with motorcycles, but quieted by 10:30 and that was the only really noisy time. Street noise is evident most of the time but nights are quiet. We learned later there was a festival in Chapala the night we arrived that involved the noisy bikes. Ocampo is a Main Street and serves pedestrians, cars, buses, and horses. There are a number of really good restaurants in walking distance, even for old folks like us. The cobblestones and broken concrete of the sidewalks are challenging but we learned to take the malecon into town center and occasionally caught a bus or used a taxi. The ads we saw featured a swimming pool but this is no longer accessible. We didn’t care but someone else might. Wi-fi is good. There is no television so we just pulled up movies on the internet when we were ready to wind down. There are many spices, herbs and condiments in the kitchen and all the appliances work well. If you like to cook, you might want to bring a knife sharpener, but there are plenty of cooking tools. We enjoyed our stay.
