My partner and I had such a lovely getaway in El Museo. We were looking for a place to escape for a week, where we could check out all the excitement that Puerto Vallarta has to offer (we'd never been before) but also have ample peace and quiet when we wanted it. El Museo was perfect. Susan went above and beyond as a host, and her property is truly magical.

Couldn't have asked for a better host. The house was comfortable and filled with wonderful art and books. Quiet, as we had hoped. Susan had suggestions regarding activities and services that were spot on.

When I started my search for a place to stay in Puerto Vallarta after a 12 year absence I was shocked to see how few of the places available looked like Mexico to me. The new trend seems to be for sterile condominiums with infinity pools at the top of the roof which is great — if you are in Miami? Casa de los Arcos is another world, filled with the vibrant color and artful fabrics I remember and treasure from my earlier years of traveling in Oaxaca, San Cristóbal and San Miguel de Allende. The reality of the apartment ( I stayed in Museo) exceeded my expectations. The rooms are spacious and stunningly beautiful. I woke every day to the sound of birds in the palms and cool breezes. The temperature is a good 5 to 10° more comfortable up on the hill than it is in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. The walk into the busier parts of town takes about 13 minutes (and be advised, is somewhat rugged.) All the streets in Puerto Vallarta require alertness— no texting and walking!! You will need to have good shoes. A taxi to Zona Romantica beach area is about 10 minutes and costs $3-$6 US. I bracketed my stay with a dinner and a breakfast at the Serrano Grill which is midway down the hill and absolutely delightful. Views were spectacular, food was great, reasonably priced and service was very sweet. Hosts Susan and David are welcoming and helpful and made me feel immediately at home. I was a solo traveler taking my first trip after pandemic, and it was lovely to have their personal guidance on learning the city after so many years away. Water is purified throughout the villa and the kitchen is spacious and efficient, should you choose to cook. I recommend the Casa de los Arcos to anyone looking for the authenticity, and charm and romance of old Mexico.

First time user of VRBO had more than a few reservations (pun intended). All I can say is that it's better to be lucky than smart. I cannot tell whether this is representative of all your properties, but our stay at Museo Weisman in PV could not have been better. The owner was attentive without being too hands on. The staff were delightful and did their jobs seamlessly and never once did we think they missed anything. Other guests that return year after year only served to confirm our opinion. The pool and jacuzzi were the icing on the cake. Will definitely recommend to others and will be back ourselves.
