Charming Stone Villa- Cottage with Private Heated Pool and lovely ocean view

I was extremely satisfied with the villa - it was cozy and clean.

Our family stayed for a week and had a lovely time at cottage Maika. Very well equiped and excellent communication from the owner. The pool was fantastic and well needed in the August heat! The track up to the cottage is fairly narrow and steep and a bit scary the first time but we took it carefully and had now issues with a standard saloon car. We hired a boat for a day from Venisce charter which was fantastic to visit some nearby coves and beaches on the islands around us. We also visited Krka national park. All in all an excellent holiday enhanced by our stay at cottage Maika

A perfect place for get away. There were almost 5 star feeling. I recommend any family or group to rent this beautiful place. To be 5 star: No available vaccum cleaner in house (problem when kids moving around) Small bin for rubbish and only emptied once a week. Some pipe issue in bathroom upstairs made bad odur now and then.

A lovely property, nicely finished with quality fittings. The internet was good and the bed was very comfortable. We rented 2 of the 3 cottages with some friends and it was ideal. Each cottage had privacy but were close so that we could easily go from one cottage to another. The pool(s) were wonderful, large enough for two people to swim laps, with amazing views and almost complete silence, no traffic just the birds singing. The road up to the cottage was challenging first time, but we soon got used to it, just make sure your car has a decent amount of power to get past the steeper parts. We had an Audi Q3, a small SUV, and it was more than enough. The cottage was very well situated for day trips to Split, Trogir, Krka and many other interesting day trips. The town of Vinisce had several nice restaurants with many others a little further out. We loved our time in these cottages and would definitely rent again if we are in this area.

Lovely property and helpful owners.

The villa is located on top of a hill (steep road,not convenient to access) nearby a lovely village. The charming villa, the extremely peaceful area and the beautiful sea view have definitively made the success of our holiday in Croatia. Two minor critics: - The swimming pool of the second villa is located just above the terrasse - It was otten stinking sewers in the bedroom downstairs

We loved our stay at this cottage. The pool is beautiful and we used it often. The cottage is in a peaceful and scenic location and is well appointed. We enjoyed excellent dinners at Restaurant Kupinica and did day trips to Split, Salona and Trogir. Vinisce Boat rental wasn't ready for the season, so they referred us to a boat and skipper from Trogir. It was an excellent experience. We hope to return.

Looking for a place to stay away from the the “hustle and bustle” of the tourist locations on the Dalmatian coast, cottage Maika caught our attention … and we were not disappointed. Combining a rustic charm with stylish, modern amenities Karin and Dominik set-up a unique place in which we felt home right away. The floor plan provided ample space to accommodate our family of four comfortably. However, our favorite hang-out area was the spacious outdoor living area with its good-sized pool and stunning views. Being located secluded in the hills, the cottage is still in close proximity to Vinisce with its small supermarkets, restaurants and beaches. Major tourist attractions are also easily within reach via car. We can definitely recommend visiting Split, Trogir and the Krka waterfalls. However, our favorite thing after a day of excursions was taking a dip in the pool and seeing the sun set over the bay. Cottage Maika provided a sense of serenity that made this one of the most relaxing vacations we ever had. If you are interested in exploring Dalmatia off the beaten track – this is definitely a place you should consider.

My family has just returned from 18 days at Cottage Maika in Vinisce, Croatia and I am already dreaming of when I can return. Karin and Dominik have created a beautiful place by renovating three cottages in an old shepherds village. There are ruins of other cottages all around. Cottage Maika is just as it was advertised. The interiors are clean and well appointed with everything you need in the kitchen and very comfortable beds. We spent most of our time while at the cottage outside on the terrace by the pool, which has amazing views of the Adriatic Sea. From the house we walked down to the sea for swims or just took long walks through the olive orchards while taking in the amazing views of the sea and mountains. For much of the time we used Cottage Maika as home base while we toured around the area. We visited Split, Sibenik, Trogir, Primosten, and Krka. All are within one hour or less and well worth visiting. We also rented a boat in Vinisce and had a wonderful day touring the islands. I was always happy to come home each afternoon to Cottage Miaka to cook a seafood dinner. Ingredients were purchased in the markets in Trogir and were as fresh as can be. We occasionally ate in Vinisce where the restaurants were as good as ones we tried in Split and Dubrovnik. Vinisce itself was a lovely throwback to an old American seaside town where families walk along the waterfront in the evenings with ice cream cones after a day swimming or boating. It was a lovely town. All of the people were so nice. I felt that all over Croatia. Thank you to Karin and Dominik for a fabulous vacation. Also thank you to Marino, the wonderful manager, who was ready at any time to help with anything….even how to use the washing machine!! When I go back to Croatia I will definitely be staying in Cottage Maika! I must add that this was my first time renting a cottage through an online site and it was fabulous!

This is a great place to stay if you want to get off the beaten track and discover an uncrowded corner of this beautiful country. We chose this house because we didn't want a long drive from Split Airport. The house is splotlessly clean, modern and very comfortable. It is so well appointed, it's like home! The highlights are the pool area with its dining table and outdoor sofas and also the big comfy beds - with amazing pillows! We also loved Vinisce village with its excellent restaurants, stunning views and selection of supermarkets. There's also a must-visit ice cream parlour and a nice bakery. The only downside is the very steep walk to the village from the house - with children (9 & 7) it took us 15 mins down, 20 mins up. You must be physically fit and have sensible shoes! You can drive to the village but this takes longer. This did not detract from our enjoyment of this house, we would definitely come again, especially as the owners are so helpful and have thought of everything.
