Beachfront Retreat with Staff

We had a great time in the villa. Everything was perfect .

A beautiful property perfect for our family to get together. The pool is amazing, staff are friendly and accommodating, and the place is very comfortable. If you are looking for a place that is a bit off the beaten track, this is the place. Most activities will pick up from accommodation,so if you don’t want to drive you don’t have to. However no shops or restaurants are within walking distance, so you may want a car for that. Loved staying here.

We stayed in this beautiful villa for nearly 2 weeks in July 2023. The villa itself was amazing, well laid out and kept spotless with the daily housekeeper and regular pool maintenance. The pool was a perfect heat and a great size. The location on the beach is amazing, it was lovely to sit and watch the sea, although the tide often didn't come in until late afternoon, so as other people have commented, it is not really suitable for swimming, also there was quite a lot of glass along the beach so you really need to wear something on your feet. Whilst we could just about walk along the beach/ through some shallow water (dependent on the tide) to the local reggae bar (which was really lovely) you would really need to hire a car or use local taxis as the location is quite remote. We used the 'grab' app for both taxis and food delivery which was a brilliant service. The island is about 35 mins from north to south so you could probably get to see all the tourist spots in one day. Kasia the Villa Manager was so helpful in making local recommendations and general advice about the local area and was extremely responsive and on hand when we needed her for anything. We stayed at Baan Tawan Chai for a month for my 60th birthday. We had some time on our own and then the children and other halves. Then a second batch of visitors which were friends. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I was emotional when I arrived, couldn’t believe how lucky I was to be living there for a month. Then when I left, I sobbed!!! It really was perfect in every way. The Manager was top rate and organised stuff for us (car, taxis, chef, in fact anything she can arrange). She gave me a wonderful surprise on my actual birthday too! If there was a problem, it was sorted within minutes! Nothing was too much trouble. Thu Thu the chef is a must. She is an extra cost but well worth it. Just delicious, everything. The beach even though only at high tide was sort of swimable, didn’t matter at all. We kayaked. And we walked in it either at high tide or low tide. I surprised myself by realising I loved the beach because it was ever changing. It was quiet too! We made good use of the beach bar which was a 15 minute walk away. Excellent Pina Coladas! Lovely sundown rock to watch the sun go down. The Buddha on the beach is an hours walk so a lift back is needed due to the limited time being able to walk in the heat. And you definitely need a car. Although Mr Jo and his taxi service were brilliant when needed. Can’t recommend this place more highly, we and all our guests had the best time, and will never forget our time there.

Our stay at Baan Tawan Chai was truly special. We were there for 5 days with our family (of four) visiting from the US. The property was beautiful, tasteful and stylish, immaculately clean, luxurious and at the same time homey and comfortable. The location felt secluded but was minutes away from shops and restaurants. We had spectacular views and being on the water we took gorgeous walks on the beach. As the listing states, the beach itself is not ideal for swimming but there are some amazing beaches close by that were easy accessible. Each bedroom was private and cozy, (each with its own indoor and outdoor shower). The open layout, with the central pool and inviting kitchen and living areas, naturally brought everyone together. Hawa, the property manager, is exceptional. She immediately made us all feel at home. She gave us perfectly spot-on recommendations for local beaches, attractions, restaurants, and nightlife. She was so helpful and flexible in helping us to make plans. She also offered to arrange dinners and fun nights at home, which we didn’t have the chance to take her up on. Also, prior to arriving, the property owner Zu was extremely helpful with answering all our questions and even helped us plan some of our itinerary for places to visit (such as the elephant sanctuary) for our trip. Went far above and beyond what we have seen or experienced before at other properties. I have stayed in 5 other properties on Koh Samui during prior trips and this one is by far my favorite! Looking forward to staying here again on our next trip back. Thank you BTC for an amazing experience!

This is a beautiful home in a quiet part of the island, just what we wanted.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were treated so well. We were a group of 6 and the villa was accommodating in every way . The Staff were outstanding, friendly and their cooking was superb. Breaky was excellent and abundant. We had the villa taxi which looked after us with all our needs. The pool was superb and the beach near the back gate was an added bonus to sit and relax. Thank you so much ?‍♀️??

Our first experience in Thailand (2 families with kids 4-10 years), one week stay in July. Overall experience was above expectations: perfect service, excellent cooking & quality of food, place is spotless and very well maintained. Toy and Jay were very helpful & supportive. Be aware that beach is not for swimming (at last during summer) therefore car for visiting places aroung island is a must. Rental car arranged by staff delivered to place and without any issues, as well as other agreěentd during our stay. We can highly recommend this place and we would be back next time when at Koh Samui.

We had a very great time in Baan Tawan Chai Villa. Positive Points: - the rooms were perfectly clean - the staff was better than in most 5 * Hotels - the area was beautiful - cool dog Negative Points: - beach (next to ocean) is dirty and rocky (when tide). private area is kept clean by staff - location is not ideal. relatively far to lamai (15 minutes) and chaweng (30 minutes) - had to pay extra for electicity, when we checked out, even we didn't use it extraordinary But I have to say the negative points were very small, they didn't bother too much

We were a group of 4 couples in our late 50's who spent a total of 3 weeks in Thailand - this was our favorite spot! Zu was very helpful right from our first contact, even going so far as to call a few weeks in advance to ask about things we wanted to do and what was important to us about our stay so that she could recommend activities or locations we might want to visit. She even went so far as to offer to research the availability of special food for my husband. Jai and Dhoy were amazing!! They were both so sweet and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We decided to hire them to cook dinner for us as well - the food was delicious, as good as we had anywhere else in Thailand. They also did grocery shopping for us, provided directions to a tour company that was picking us up for a day on the water and drove us to a silver shop so we could do some shopping. They even arranged for us to have massages at the house which was a great luxury. The house was beautiful. The grounds are colorful and very lush. We had been at a VRBO in Phuket before coming to Koh Samui. That house was very large and grand. Our group agreed that we enjoyed this home more because it had a much more intimate feel, everyone was closer together and it was more focused on outdoor living. The beds were comfortable (VERY important to me) and the outdoor showers were great - so nice to look up at the blue sky and palm trees. The beach is great for walking and watching the fishermen. Overall, I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our 5 nights at this house. If we were to return to Thailand, we would definitely stay here again.
