Stayed Dec 31, 1969I had a dream to take a house for the summer and invite my family and friends to join us. I dreamed of lazy days, cooking and enjoying the wine under the Tuscan sun. Well we found the Villa Miglianrina and stayed in Suite Alloro for two weeks. My eldest and youngest son and one of the girlfriends stayed for the first week. My closest friend and her friend from New Zealand stayed in another aparment close by and my middle son and his fiance stayed for two weeks. It was lovely having everyone around and I especially loved showing off Tuscany and Rome to family and friends. Suite Alloro accommodated us very well and it retains much of its bygone elelgance although a little tired around the edges - after all we none of us are getting any younger. Be prepared for the mosquitos though!!! Antonio made us very welcome and the whole villa had a relaxed family oriented atmosphere. None of us we afraid to sit on the sofa. The pool was wonderful on those very hot days and a welcome relief after a days sightseeing. Migliarina is well situated to see Tuscany from - only 4 kilometres to the nearest railway station with trains that ran on time and which took us up to Florence and down to Rome. It's only an hour from Sienna by car and an hour away from southern Tuscany where you can sample the wonderful wines in the hilltop towns of Montalcino and Multipulciano. Antonio offers a great wine tastng session too so you can sample the wines made on his estate along with the olive oil which I recommend. We all had a wonderful time (once we had learned how to cope with the mosquitos) agreed that Suite Alloro would be great for a family Christmas so watch this space. Caio
