Stayed Sep 24, 2025We had a wonderful time in Yellowstone with our base being at Marcia's House. Marcia and her assistant Julie made sure that everything was in order and that our stay would be as expected. You simply cannot ask for a better location if you are in Silver Gate for a Yellowstone visit. My wife and I spent 5 glorious days fly fishing and exploring the Serengeti of North America. We saw two grizzlies, two black bears, multiple pronghorn, and hundreds of bison. The Soda Butte provided some great fly fishing, though it was quite technical being late September. We still caught our share, and did so in some of the most beautiful expanses in the world. Marcia was a wonderful host. Her book and back story made the trip even more special for me and my nature loving wife. We hope to come back for more adventures in the future.

Stayed Aug 10, 2025Marcia was a great hostess - very communicative, helpful, and responsive. The cabin is comfortable and spacious. We had less than 5 minute access to the northeast entrance of Yellowstone national park and were able to drive through the Lamar valley early every morning and see tons of wildlife, including bison, foxes, coyotes, grouse, and grizzly bears. Awesome trip of a lifetime!

Stayed Jun 22, 2025This cabin is just lovely! It is in a beautiful location and allowed easy access to Yellowstone. The owner is so sweet and made communication easy. My family highly recommends this cabin if you are looking to experience nature! Be aware that drive time to near by towns is long.

Stayed Sep 22, 2024This property sits right in the small town of Silvergate just outside the entrance to the park. It was a perfect rental if you want to enjoy beautiful surroundings in Montana and Yellowstone park. Marcia, the owner/host could not be friendlier and more knowledgeable about the area. She was fantastic and everyone in the area knows her. The home was comfortable and welcoming. I would definitely look to rent this property the next time we visit this area!!!

Stayed Sep 10, 2024The property was great, very clean and roomy. We are three seniors and two were first time to Yellowstone. Great little kitchen with a roomy fridge and a huge grill out back on a nice deck. Water was hot and shower was great. Used the fireplace on two nights and the little furnace in the family room was impressive. It got down in the 30’s two nights and snowed in the mountains but we were warm and cozy. There are electric heaters in every room but we didn’t need to use any of them. House is well insulated. The host was warm and welcoming and answered all questions we has regarding check-in/out processes and those regarding the local establishments. Silver Gate and Cooke City were great little towns to visit. Finally, the reason for staying here was location to Yellowstone and the Lamar Valley. We saw elk, grizzly bear, black bear, moose two days in a row, pronghorns, mountain goats, bald eagles, and bison. My wife saw a white wolf and there was a pack of 14 wolves operating in the Slough Creek campground valley that we visited three days in a row. This was all within 1 hour of this cabin. Would definitely stay here if location to wildlife is high on your list.

Stayed Jul 28, 2024We had the very best time at Marcia’s place. It was immaculate and had absolutely everything that you would need for cooking, showering. She even had the fire all ready to be lite. We didn’t end up needing it but it was ready to go! The outdoor space was fabulous. The view from the backyard can’t be beat. We watched the hummingbirds from the dining room table. Marcia is the kindest sweetest lady and goes out of her way to make sure you have a wonderful time.

Stayed Jul 5, 2024Great place to stay and be in the Lamar Valley in 10 minutes. Look this is not the 4 Seasons but we didn’t expect that. Steep stairs to the bedrooms and one is like a loft bedroom bc it isn’t walled off. But it was just what we needed with our kids. Marcia is very nice and accommodating. Great place to rest after a hard day in the park. Bring your own grociers cause there is nothint close to get much of anything. Grill was used and we cooked a meal every evening. Nice having 1.5 bathrooms too. And she had Bear Spray for us to borrow. Ice cream place in “town” is great.

Stayed Jun 15, 2024Very comfortable, had everything I needed and more to enjoy my stay. Bed was comfortable, nice big fridge if I wanted to do cooking, roomy and great access to both the park and any needs in the small town. Marcia was a fabulous host, showed me everything I would need to know, and helped build a fire in the wood burning stove when the power went out due to weather. Outage didn't last long, but had everything I needed to get through it. Marcia is a fabulous host, as sweet as can be! Would definitely stay again!

Stayed May 30, 2024It was a blessing that we found this great vacation rental! The home was exactly what we were looking for. It was just down the road from the northeast entrance to YNP and had everything needed to make us feel right at home. The weather was a little cold for us with lows in the 30’s (we had come from 100+ degree temperatures in Texas), but the house was well insulated with a great heating system and toasty fireplace. The large comfortable sectional sofa was a favorite spot for relaxing after a long day of hiking. The internet never failed us and it gave us the opportunity to catch up on work emails and binge-watch shows. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook big breakfasts and the back deck had a grill to cookout in the evenings. Sitting on the deck was a treat because we were able to relax listening to the little brook that ran behind the house, play cards at the patio table, and watch for mountain goats on the nearby mountain. Marsha was an amazing host! She had a great personality and provided everything we needed to have a pleasant stay. She even took time to come by and greet us when we arrived offering suggestions on things we didn’t want to miss. We left with beautiful memories of an awesome vacation spent at the perfect vrbo. We’ll be looking to stay here again on future trips to Yellowstone.
