Eastham, Massachusetts
This cottage in the woods offers privacy and serenity in a natural setting, while still near all the fun Cape Cod has to offer.
This home sleeps 4 most comfortably. The main level offers sleeping accommodations with a queen bed or full size futon, a full bath with a stand up shower, kitchen, living area and slider to the deck. You could enjoy your entire stay on one level.
The downstairs offers a large bedroom with a ceiling fan with accommodations for 2 and a large full bath with a tub. Washer and dryer on lower level.
The stairs going down are tight and may not be suitable for young children as they are difficult to gate off.
Outside shower (hot/cold) helps clean up after a day at the beach. New outdoor landscaping upgrades this season. Bring a basketball and other lawn games - an elementary school is right next door offering fields, courts and a playground. WIFI offers the ability to stay connected if you like.
Mid week rentals and long week ends may be considered.
We have had the property treated with an organic pest control. You should find that flying bugs such as mosquitoes are drastically reduced in the yard, though it is impossible to eradicate them completely. There should be no ticks!
This house is registered with the Town of Eastham as a rental property and complies with all town rules and regulations. This home is also connected to the municipal water supply.
This home is NOT allergen free - owners have pets.
Recent updates include outdoor landscaping (still a woodsy, natural setting!), new outdoor furniture and picnic table, new and additional lighting and other fixtures.
Off season trash disposal is at your responsibility. The Town has a transfer station where all garbage and recyclables are collected. There is a $10 fee to enter, payable to the onsite attendant. Summer rentals will have trash and recycling pickup.
The road the residence is on, as well as the intersecting streets, are private dirt roads. These streets are not maintained by the town of Eastham and do not have street lights. Though they are privately maintained by the homeowners, during severe rain storms, wind storms/hurricanes, and/or snow storms, the streets may become partially or totally impassible, especially for those without 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles. For this reason, we strongly recommend that those renting during the winter months in particular use 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles. Please drive slowly!
Beach Stickers: Eastham Town Beaches (bay side) can be accessed with a weekly sticker (ask for further information) or by a daily pay as you go fee. Town stickers do not provide access to National Seashore beaches (ocean side). National Seashore beaches are pay as you go only, unless you have a national parks membership. Beach stickers are not required in the evening. Bayside sunsets are beautiful!
Rental tax in effect as of July 1, 2019.

We had a great stay , great location House is spacious
Great beach house in a great location. Right near bike trail, beach and beach shuttle. Nice sized deck for grilling or playing cards, etc. Homeowner was helpful and gave great suggestions for local restaurants and activities. Highly recommended!
Great location, clean property, excellent communication. Wendy knows the cape and is helpful with the tips. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay again.
This is our 2nd stay here. The house is always ready and beautiful. The owner is always helpful and quick with responses if you have questions or concerns. We will definitely be back again next year. The area is quiet and peaceful. I highly reccomend choosing this home to stay in!
This was our first visit to the Cape. We loved the house setup and location. We were close to the beach and stores, but felt far enough away to relax and enjoy the peaceful nights. Wendy was very helpful and promptly answers all of our questions and even forwarded any town information that might affect our stay. We would definitely recommend this property to other families.
We had been to the Cape before ,but not for about 10 years. We always stayed in the Eastham area close to the National Seashore. The house was in a quiet wooded area less than a quarter mile to Park visitors center. .We knew where winter to go and what we wanted to see so the location was perfect. The owner readily available for any concerns or questions we had. She responded within minutes of any inquiries. Thanks Wendy for a great vacation.
The house was perfect - close to everything but tucked away down a dirt road - easy kitchen to cook in. Cozy bedrooms - short bike ride to the ocean, bay, swimming ponds rail trail, restaurants, etc.
Wendy (the owner) is so kind, polite, accommodating, patient. The privacy is incredible. Alone in a nook with no disturbance is a soothing summer escape. All the amenities are excellent. Everything you need is right there. The AC is perfect. On a hot, hot day (especially after the beach) you need that in this day and age. The available TV technology is superior. That’s also a plus when you have young adults and men who love viewing options. It can get complicated if you’re not savvy with technology, but the owners answered immediately with instructions to accessing different viewing options. Again, in this day and age you have to keep up with technology and these owners are the BEST I have seen in my 30 years of Cape summers. Oodles of viewing options and I think gaming too, but we didn’t use it. The downstairs bedroom offered my son the privacy he wanted and was a good distance from the upstairs bedroom. The upstairs bedroom was beautiful and the windows allowed the light to shimmer all day even though you’re surrounded by trees and woods. The owners left ample supplies in case you run out (we did, but we replaced what we used). The outdoor shower was amazing, private, enclosed and we all used it everyday. The proximity to the beaches was excellent, just a short drive, and frankly we could have biked or walked. Also, being near to the visitor’s center and town access was a plus! The bathrooms were spotlessly clean as was everything in the house. To me a spotless toilet is important! I would only recommend to the owners to tell the cleaning company to mop the floors thoroughly, because floors are important! We noticed some stickiness in spots (and some crumbs) that indicate they may not have washed the floor on the way out. The fridge had a few crumbs left, but that’s probably an oversight from the previous tenants. Really though these are things that did not take away from the cleanliness as a whole of the house and the work of the cleaning company. The home is definitely worth the rental fees. It was everything I hoped for. It met every priority on my list when searching for a rental. Again, the owners are very accommodating and just good people. It’s nice to still have a personal touch, as we have seen that become lost somewhat on Cape Cod over the last 30 years. Thank you sincerely to the Gamba family for providing an extremely enjoyable stay!
Great place, close to Arnold's, rode the bikes there! Cool AC. Only correction was I had to baby proof the railings to the stairs. Toddlers get into everything! Other that great rental.
I vacationed with my adult daughter and 2 year old granddaughter. Proximity to playground, lack of traffic and choice of open ocean or bay beaches were phenomenal. Outdoor shower, deck, and clothesline were awesome amenities. The two upstairs “bedrooms” are only separated by a curtain so not private—ok for me and my granddaughter. Also, the white couch made me a little nervous but otherwise 5 stars plus!
