Stayed Sep 15, 2024The tide surge was amazing to watch. The view is stunning. Lots of birds and animals to observe. Great sunsets and sun rises. There were only 2 restaurants open but the food was good. Also half the shops were closed. We took a day and drove to Bar Harbor which was very nice.

Stayed Aug 23, 2025Our family of 6 and 2 grandparents really enjoyed our stay at this property. We loved watching the tides go in and out, combing the beach (could be little steep of a clamber down for some but it was just fine for our age ranges and abilities), and hanging out. There were loads of windows and natural light, and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. It was a perfect weekend getaway. We hope to come back again some time!

Stayed Aug 12, 2025We could not have had a better experience renting this property. The owners were extremely reachable, both in coordinating details in advance and to answer any questions during our stay. The location could not possibly be better - what a view! We truly felt at home there. You could tell it's a house that is used by the owners and not just some generic rental property. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with useful utensils and pots/pans, the living room area was comfortable, the dining area is surrounded by sea views. Having the beach right there to explore was such a plus - the kids loved the tidal pools, rocks, and sea glass and of course being able to access Dog Island at low tide. We biked into town and enjoyed the fantastic book store, coffee shops, souvenir spots, and other points of interest. It was extremely easy to take whale watching excursions right there from Eastport Harbor. We also took the ferry to Lubec one day and had lunch there and went to the farmers market. Another night we drove into Calais for dinner and enjoyed an outdoor concert on the green. Truly a fantastic and memorable trip.

Stayed Aug 14, 2024This lovely home was exactly what we were looking for! Perfect location, we walked downtown for coffee, cute shops, very friendly place! We did do the whale watch which is completely Worth it!!!!! We saw everything they listed-whales, porpoises, seals and bald eagles! We also got up close with the Old Sow which is amazing! We could see the eagle, whales and porpoises from the house, low tide we were able to walk to the island and explore-we found shells and sea urchins! Clean home, stocked! The only thing, that my kids would have liked is having a tv, however, we were pretty busy with playing board games, exploring, animal watching and had a couple fires!!! :) Thank you!

Stayed Aug 1, 2023We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house at the end of Water Street. It is ideally suited for viewing of the Old Sow turbulence. I don't think there could be a better viewpoint from the American side. There are at least three lighthouses which can be seen from the house, and both the rising and setting of the sun. And then there's the Bald Eagle which likes to sit on Dog Island and think about life for hours every day.

Stayed Aug 14, 2022If you are looking for a serene escape it doesn’t get any better than this. The meticulously kept house is located at the end of a quite cull da sac which provides you with endless, unobstructed panoramic ocean views. Inside the house is an understated, cozy and clean place for everyone to gather comfortably. The spacious kitchen was fully stocked many of the items from home you may need should you decide to cook- spices, kitchen utensils, and serving wear. Most importantly a coffee pot and filters. The layout of the house worked perfectly for our family of four and the set of grandparents in tow. Both the first floor and second floor flowed beautifully- with every room boasting a gorgeous ocean view. The back deck was an oasis in the morning as you sipped coffee and listened to the birds and the sounds of the ocean. It was a respite in the afternoons after hiking, whale watching or exploring the beaches. In terms of location this house was perfect. You can get down town in about a three minute drive. Which means you are close to the grocery store, can browse the quaint shops, taste some local beer, catch a whale watch boat and eat at the few restaurants available. Further away you can access the Roosevelt Campobella State Park in Canada or stay state side and check out the Quoddy Head State Park in Lubec. This is a place we would return to time and time again to create lasting memories.
