Woodshores Retreat - walk to beach, hot tub, pets

The spacious kitchen and seating area was great for our large group. The windows make it feel like you’re in the woods with all the conveniences of home. Would stay again!

Such a great place!! Our son was ready to live there forever and my husband wants the griddle. The views could not be appreciated with our late arrival but was so what we needed the next morning. Owners were great! Directions they provided answered all.

Wonderful house ! Plenty of room and everything you need for a vacation. Kitchen was fully supplied.

Lots of Beautiful space for family to gather!

We enjoyed our stay! The house was spacious and a great place to gather with family. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, and communication from the host was clear and timely. There are a few minor updates that would make the house even better (some loose tiles, a broken toilet handle, etc.), but nothing that impacted our overall experience.

Great house to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday. The walk-out lower level, with screened in hot tub, living room, bathroom and bedrooms, was a perfect space for 6 teenage girls. The large upper living space was perfect for the adults and for all of us to gather and eat and hangout. Twelve total in our group and plenty of room for all of us. The walk through the woods to the beach was a fun adventure. Would stay here again. Highly recommend!

Great house for a large family. The host was very helpful and responsive. Nice proximity to the beach. I recommend Silver Beach about 15 minutes away, but our dogs loved the closer beach, Hagar. That beach was so nice and close , but my parents could not handle the almost 100 steps to get down. It was our first time to Lake Michigan and I would recommend this house! Just don’t go the Waterfront Restaurant unless there is a big sign reading under new management.

BIGGEST ISSUE: Just hours before we were scheduled to check on, we were notified by the property managers that the house had no electricity due to a storm the night before. We were driving from 7 hours away and planning to stay with my sister and her family, so I told them if them if the power doesn't come back on we will need to cancel our reservation. They said power outages are NOT a reason to cancel and we would still be charged over 1,800 for the 2 nights even if we didn't show up and the house had no power. I inquired if they had a generator and if the house was on city was or a well. No generator and the house is on well water. Let that sink in... No power no water! How can you except someone to pay to stay at your house but not take a shower or flush a toilet?! The power was restored so we ended up staying but the rediculousness of being told we couldn't cancel is the biggest part of this low rating. - Second, the shower in the master bedroom has blinds that you can 100% see through! This is a huge safety and privacy issue. At night, you can stand outside the house and see right into the shower. - There is a security camera INSIDE the house not mentioned in the description - The beds were very uncomfortable.- lacked common items like cooking oil.The PROS: the space is very large and pictures matched the description.- lots of windows and the house was clean.

We had such a great time!!! The house is so pleasant to hang out in. The main rooms are surrounded with windows. It almost feels like you’re in a treehouse. I would definitely stay here again even though it could use a little freshening up .

Liked: ample seating for all in an open concept home. It was spacious but still felt cozy. Hot tub was great and property is secluded. Weather was uncooperative for us, unfortunately we couldn’t explore but did walk to the beach which was empty (late November). A few odd/not great things. Our kids wanted to watch a movie downstairs while the adults were upstairs. The Roku remote is a rechargeable remote, it was dead so I reached out to ask about the charging cable.Response was “don’t know, guests lose them all the time”. My husband had to go to the store anyway so he bought one. Shortly after we arrived a repair man came to look at the washer/dryer. There was no previous communication about this. Apparently he was meant to have come earlier, but there was a mix up. Luckily he didn’t stay long. Last, the checkout time of 10 am is too early. The home accommodates like 15 people - there was zero time for relaxation in the morning and enjoying the house with trying to get the kids fed and still clean up the house according to the required checklist (strip the beds, start laundry, do dishes, take out trash). It’s a great house, but maybe consider the early checkout time if you’re booking.

I cannot say enough good things about this property! The house was beautiful and spacious. Valerie was extremely helpful and accommodating. We asked to have our wedding rehearsal dinner at the house and she had no hesistation what so ever! Our bridal party stayed the entire weekend and had plenty of space. My makeup and hair artists had plenty of space to work and amazing natural lighting. Everyone that came to the house complimented how gorgeous it was. Everything was clean and we had everything we could possibly need. The location was only 13 minutes from our venue so was perfect. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to host a large group of people!

The property was well maintained and stocked, nice location. Close to everything we wanted to see. Clean and would return again.

Great location a short walk to beach with a playground close by. I’m a woods so it was quite and secluded.
