The place was large and homey, we had a big snowstorm, and the owner was a good communicator, but there were real drawbacks that need addressed. The heater would not come on for ages when it descended into a Arctic-like cold in certain rooms, but then when it did come on, it would stay on forever until we sweltering and had to take all our blankets off. The heating system and thermostats hopefully can be adjusted to come on for shorter periods of time and extra thermostats added in bedrooms. The hot water heater was not working properly when we were there. We were unable to take even a 10min shower without the water turning cold on us for our rinse off. We thought maybe it was a capacity issue, so we avoided running the dishwasher or hot water in sink for an hour before a shower but that didn't work. The owner seemed like he wanted to address it while we were there which is a plus for responsiveness, but it would have been nice if it were checked/addressed before our arrival. The oven was not working properly at all during our stay. There was some problem with the knobs. After buying an oven thermometer, we were able to approximate the temps we needed to cook Xmas dinner, but it was a hassle. Also, toward the end of our trip, I became suspicious of the oven seal that was flaking off onto the floor. After checking the model, we found out this oven likely has an asbestos seal common during this era, so we had to stop using the oven immediately to prevent further exposure.

The location of this cabin was ideal for us. We love being in walking distance to the beach, having the par course close, and trailheads nearby (as well as the Old Post Office Cafe). The place is rustic, and not terribly clean, but it's a good price and the neighborhood is safe and friendly. We had everything we really needed.

Great property and location. Exactly as advertised on VRBO. Short 10 minute walk to the lake in a quiet neighborhood. Very much enjoyed our stay. Owner was very communicative and was easy to reach and work with prior to and during our stay.

This comfortable older cabin felt like a longtime family cabin with generous owners: holiday decorations all around, super well-stocked, plenty of food staples in kitchen to share, laundry soap for the washer and dryer, tons of blankets, pillows, etc. Check-in and check-out was very straightforward. Owner replied to inquiry within an hour. Easy access in the snow with a fairly level neighborhood and circular driveway; short walk to lakeside beach and breakfast/sandwich shop that also rents watersport gear. Our family visited both Squaw/Palisades and Northstar; perfect location right between them.

Cute & affordable rental home in north Lake Tahoe. Close to everything in a good neighborhood! We loved it! Can sleep 8! The owner was attentive and easy to reach. It was stocked up well better than most rentals. I read reviews about people complaining about the stove but I loved using it & had fun cooking in it! Loved the set up of the bathrooms too! Highly recommend this rental!

Really thought the place was great. Functional and affordable. Would definitely rent the home again, -It's a 1970's home that has been well maintained!!! -Layout of living room, kitchen area, dining area was great. Has a large front facing deck off the living room . Large kitchen area for prepping meals. Bedroom size great with dressers and plenty of lines. -Inside washing machine/dryer great for washing laundry on extended stays. -Storage shed has extra tables and extra chairs for deck. -The bathroom set up was adequate and served three couples with no problem. We did run out of hot water, once, for showers so recommend if every one is going to take showers watch hot water usage (we think it was because we cleaned kitchen using hot water prior to showering) -It does get warm inside the home during the day in summertime, but if open all the windows it cools down nicely in the evening. -Its a 5-10 minute bike ride or 15-20 minute walk to nearest beach. Home is up a hill so bring bike with gears or E-bike -The hosts instructions were perfect. -Only bummer about our stay,( not related to home) was there was NO Fireworks Show on 4th of July on North Lake Tahoe. The county did a drone show but you had to be in Kings Beach which we avoided. Happy Travels- The moses family
