We did a sibling get together there for a thanksgiving celebration. Everything about the house was top notch. We would all go back there again in a heartbeat.
There were 10 of us that stayed at Adeline's the week after Christmas. It was my first VBRO experience. It was a great stay. Brian the owner called me the morning of our check-in to introduce himself and let me know if we have any questions or issues during are stay that he is available to be reached any time - a very nice touch. Tom - the property manager was very helpful as well. I'm not going to post any pictures because you need to see this place for yourself. Everywhere you looked, you saw something you have not seen before. The hot tub is huge! The parlor/game room was great. Huge bar, pinball, pool table, etc. Plenty of beds for the 10 of us (6 bedrooms total). Kitchen was fully equipped with enough room for all 10 of us to eat at. This place had everything needed for a nice fun and relaxing time away from home. I can only imagine that spending time there is the summer would be a blast with the huge yard and lake access. If you're looking for a place to getaway and recharge, you should try Adeline's.
This is the fourth year that five other couples and us have taken a long weekend getaway to Adeline's House of Cool. Each year it is as amazing as the last!! To be honest, the first year that I planned this weekend getaway, I had thought that we would go to different cabins in different locations each year. It turns out that I have yet to find any other cabins/hotels/resorts that come remotely close to as awesome as Adeline's House of Cool is!! We absolutely LOVE it here and recommend it to everyone we know!
Wow, this place is one of a kind!! No picture will do this place justice, you just have to see it for yourself. It's perfect for large groups get aways. We traveled with small children and everyone had an awesome time, I can only imagine how much fun it will be for just adults, will have to come back in Spring or Summer, but Winter is just as great ...from ice skating to ice fishing to a relaxing time in the XL Jacuzzi and drink by the beautiful fire place (there are two) We didn't have to go anywhere, this house provides non stop entertainment! Brian was a pleasure to deal with and so was Tom, the caretaker. We will definitely be back!
Adeline's House of Cool definitely lived up to its name! We spent a long snowy weekend at the house to have some lazy winter days with the family. We brought our 4 adult children, niece and her baby plus our moms and two dogs. We were greeted by the caretaker who had a roaring fire going to warm us up after our snowy drive. He took enough time to show us everything in the house and made sure we had his phone number in case any questions came up during our stay. The house was fantastic with so much room to spread out. There were cozy little nooks if anyone wanted some alone time, but we mostly hung out in the game room. Our favorite game was I Spy- we played it on and off all weekend because there is so much to spy! The upstairs living room was warm and inviting. I spent a few hours curled up by the fireplace reading while the kids played video games and watched movies. The six bedrooms gave us all enough space that made it feel more than a home away from home. Because the temps were sub-zero during our stay, we didn't do much adventuring outside. Our daughter took the dogs for a walk on the channel a few times. If it had been warmer, we would have been out on that lake ice skating. I would recommend this house for any family gatherings, couples weekends, girlfriend getaways etc. Brian was easy to deal with and answered all of our questions before our stay. It was a nice, easy drive from Northern Illinois. Our family wants to go back to explore this house again!
We rent a cabin with 5 other couples every year, traditionally in the summer; because of conflicts, we weren't able to meet until January this year and I considered that a blessing in disguise because it let us spend a weekend at Adeline's! It was easy to forget how cold and gray it was outside, because the inside is so colorful and warm, and there really is so much to do and see. We spent the entire time playing tons of games, eating great meals that we were able to cook on site, and exploring all of the amazing decor of the house. The highlight is the absolutely stunning hot tub, which is more like a small pool (it's so big we all easily fit in it!)... pure Midwestern decadence to be able to soak in a hot tub when there's snow everywhere outside. Some of our more adventurous members went on hikes during the day, admiring the property and nearness to the lake. With 6 comfy bedrooms, numerous fireplaces, and all the eye candy you could want, Adeline's is the perfect getaway for a break from the snow.
Just got back from an amazing weekend at the House of Cool and already making plans to visit again! We rented the house as a Christmas present for my husband's parents so the whole family could spend some nice time together. When we arrived the house could not have been more cozy and welcoming. The greeter was there and had already started a fire in the beautiful fireplace. He showed us around the property which is absolutely amazing. He made sure we knew how to work everything and made us feel right at home. With 6 bedrooms we had plenty of room for everyone and once we were settled in we never had to leave. The game room and hot tub were definitely a big hit with everyone, especially the kids. The pool table was almost constantly in use and the bar is huge. Plenty of room for everyone to hang out and play games. The upstairs great room had a huge selection of movies and was another comfortable place to kick back and relax. We also spent a lot of time exploring this place. Even when we were getting ready to leave we were still finding things that no one had seen before. Every single room is special in it's own way. Pictures and descriptions really don't do this home justice. It is just something that you have to experience to truly appreciate. The owner was a pleasure to work with, answering all of our questions and making sure we had all we needed for a great time. We highly recommend the House of Cool for anyone looking for a unique, relaxing and extremely memorable getaway. Can't wait to go back!
We had 12 guests stay in early February and the location was excellent. We were able to walk out to the lake from the water channel access and cross country ski and snow shoe to our hearts content. The Hot Tub was the perfect evening cap to a fun filled day. With a surprise and marvels around every corner, Adelines House of Cool is a must stay and for us, the Winter months made it even more comfortable. What a great place to get away for a weekend or longer. We will be back soon. :)
My sisters and I just came back from a great family trip. My mother was turning 50 and we threw her a surprise weekend party. We were a little skeptical about bringing smaller children, but they did great and there was a ton of room in each area to just drop a large pack and play. Mom had a great time and was so pleased with the antiques all around. My husband and brother in laws actually caught some fish right in the channel that the house is on. Brian was so accommodating and gave us great suggestions for going out to dinner and antiquing in the surrounding towns. It was a great time for the family to get together and just slow down and connect. We will be going back every year for a reunion!
It was a great weekend I spent with my family at Adeline's. The pictures don't really express how cool and fun this place is. My kids stayed busy the whole time we were there playing hide and seek, exploring all the decorations throughout the house, playing arcade games, etc... Brian - the owner has mentioned he build the House of Cool for his own family. This place is truly a family weekend getaway. We were all thrilled while there and sad when it was time to come head back to reality. I recommend Adeline's house of cool for anyone looking for a quick weekend getaway in Wisconsin or a place that is a short distance from Chicago.
