Wintersun.. A World Class Private Estate Atop A Mountain 15 min from Asheville

Great place to enjoy with family. This was our second time traveling to Wintersun and it both times were great!!

We booked Wintersun for our wedding, and it was the perfect choice. Every detail of the stay was so well thought out by the hosts. My husband and I immediately felt at home.

This property is breathtaking!! Regardless of the rating I provided for cleanliness, I would stay here over and over again!! I came with 7 other ladies to spend a weekend to celebrate my sisters 60th birthday and Judy worked with me to even allow an earlier check in time. I highly recommend this home and to sit on the porch early with a cup of coffee and just take in the sounds of all the birds and the turkey just living their best lives! Beautiful property with great views

We really enjoyed our stay at Wintersun. The front porch was our favorite spot to sit by the fire pits and enjoy the sunsets and mountain view’s. The hiking trails and the labyrinth were also highlights of our stay.

This house is so amazing! Its like the Biltmore on a smaller scale but so incredibly beautiful. So peaceful and the front porch views are nothing short of breathtaking.

Another great trip to Wintersun! Six years and counting! Judy was awesome as always to work with! It was a little chilly this trip, but that did not keep us inside the entire time. We enjoyed hiking the property and trails as well as the daily walk to the road each morning to get your heart going! Lot's of deer roaming the property. Lots of fun things to do close by and in Asheville,. Our trip to Little Biltmore was wonderful and we will be back next year!

The property is so beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed dinner in the formal dining room, relaxing in the spa, and lounging on the veranda. Judy was friendly and communicative. We will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed the warm, homey, fully Christmas decorated ambiance of this lovely Inn. The setting was like that of a Hallmark Holiday Card. The owner and property manager were prompt and responsive to our every whim. We will definitely be back. Thank you Judy Carter for having us.

The pictures don't do this property justice. This was absolutely the best place I have ever stayed. The staff were so friendly, and the grounds are just so very beautiful. I can't wait to go back.

Wonderful mountain property, outstanding views, comfortable, spacious and ideal for my three partners, their wives, my wife and me to gather for our annual get together. We particularly enjoyed having our morning coffee on the huge back deck while watching deer feeding within a stone's throw in front of us. Our hostess was gracious and at our beck and call should we need anything. Would highly recommend and have already booked my return trip.

We love getting away as a family. North Carolina as been one of our favorite places to head. We booked this beautiful home, due to it's location. The home, the grounds, and the homeowners are amazing. The home and the grounds were beautiful, peaceful, and left you not lacking in anything. With in the first hour of being there, we all stated we were staying again, no ifs ands or buts. If you get a chance to stay here, DO IT!, you want be disappointed!

Beautiful property, completely private and a house full of character top to bottom! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone traveling with a group.

This property is so big you might not see your kids except for mealtime! It's a gorgeous property, but not for those that have troubles walking up hills. We certainly got our exercise exploring the estate! My 13yr daughter had 15,000 steps one day....that'll keep them off the devices!! One of my favorite memories will be sitting on the front porch watching the lightning bugs in the evening with my kids.....they've never seen them before!!

Amazing property and beautiful place- very responsive hostess/manager. Would recommend a new grill as we planned to grill one evening but it was not as clean as we would have expected so we changed plans.

Everything is so comfy at this house - great location - easy to get to Asheville and beautiful grounds to take walks and enjoy mountain life. Every state room is perfectly appointed.

This was our fifth year at Wintersun! What a wonderful place! We always look forward to our stays at the big house! Roaming the grounds and trails and heading in to Asheville and the surrounding areas. Just too much fun! We will be back!

The host and caretaker were amazing and very responsive. The property was even more incredible than the photos could show. Nothing beats having acres of land to yourself allowing you to laugh loud and enjoy your music late into the evening. Plenty of kitchen space for the private Chef we hired for a speacial dinner.

Winter sun estate is truly magical! Not only is the setting tranquil with stunning, hiking trails and rolling hills with a magnificent porch front view… It truly feels as if you have stepped back in time with its grand architecture, furnishings and setting. Perfect for hosting multiple family’s and friends as we did for our weeks stay celebrating our friends and family coming in for our sons wedding. We hosted an intimate Rehearsal Dinner which all of our guests really enjoyed . The host has such a beautiful array of dishes, stemware , silverware etc to easily host an elegant dinner party! Beds were comfy with very spacious rooms and en-suite bathrooms that made it perfect for 8 of our family members to move in for the week. We didn’t want to leave! The only “tweaks” I would recommend would be a supply of a few more towels per guest

We did an extended 13 day stay and enjoyed the property immensely. Judy is easy to communicate with and she went out of her way to upgrade the wifi for us since we were working remotely. The grounds are beautiful for hikes, frisbee golf, or walking with dogs. We’ll likely return.

We reserved Wintersun to celebrate our mom's 90th birthday. The porches, views, trails, and wildlife made the celebration extra special. We found most of the trails to be very well maintained. Landscaping is also quite impressive. (Nice work, Alex and crew!) We enjoyed seeing wild turkeys on the main lawn each morning/evening. Staff were very responsive and helpful (no problems, just questions!). Neighbors stopped to help us take photographs. I can't wait to go back. Judy and her staff have earned all the accolades possible.

Wintersun met all our expectations. We were looking for a place where our family could get together and enjoy all that Asheville has to offer and reconnect with friends. The property has many hiking trails and provides plenty of space for guests to enjoy quiet time.
