Evergreen, Colorado
Mountain cabin in Evergreen, Colorado located close to all mountain activities including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, gambling in Central City, Red Rocks Amphitheater and only 35 minutes from downtown Denver. This home offers 2 bedrooms, two baths, deck/balcony, full kitchen, and a wood burning stove. Property has a brook running through it, is nestled in the woods, and is just a short distance from I-70. Perfect for a family getaway for skiing or enjoying the mountains in the summer.
Property relies on cistern for wastewater. Conservation is key to water usage.
The property is the quintessential log cabin on a Colorado mountain. Clean with quite a few amenities, a couple of games, small DVD collection, puzzles. The MBR bed was incredibly comfortable. Pet friendly with a fenced-in yard. Things to know: It's on Septic so the conservation requested was a little over the top for us. I would have preferred to pay a little extra and be able to wash dishes normally and take a bath in the jacuzzi tub if we wanted. Not a lot of pans to work with if you intend to cook while there. 2nd bed mattress was hard as a rock. Adult daughters did not sleep well. Pretty quick access to Evergreen and shopping and fun. Property manger communicate extraordinarily well. The internet was not good when we got there (we were warned), but they did have a tech out to install new internet while we were there and was good from then on. Did enjoy our stay!
Very private. We loved it. Would stay again.
We wanted to escape the everyday work world and relax & recharge. And that is what we did. The weather was not in our favor as it rained everyday and was colder than we had hoped for. Thanks for letting us stay.
Awesome place for a quick getaway!
Nice cabin. Amazing location. Easy check in.
The Gardner cabin in Evergreen, Colorado was perfect for what we needed. We were spending Thanksgiving with our son who lives in Denver and wanted a mountain cabin away from crowds but close to Denver and could accommodate our dog. We were able to cook the full Thanksgiving meal in the stocked kitchen. The cabin has a fenced in yard and a walking trail that was perfect for our lab. Scott was available, answered our texts promptly, and, best of all, he didn’t have a list of things that needed to be cleaned-our new gold-standard for VRBO’s! We would definitely stay there again!
I had booked the cabin for my daughter and I, along with our dogs, for a week of mountain air, beautiful scenery and excellent hiking, and we weren't disappointed! The location was perfect - close enough to visit family in Lakewood throughout the week, but just far enough away so that we could immerse ourselves in our mountain getaway. The hideaway home embodies authentic, rustic mountain living, and since it's built directly into the rock, we really appreciated the extra blankets provided to stay warm and comfortable at night. Of course, rustic living isn't complete without a septic tank, an accomodation most aren't used to, including us. Fortunately, the owner pays close attention to it during your stay to ensure there are no issues. I would suggest, however, that if a property visit is needed, depending on the duration of their stay, that any visit by the owner be scheduled in advance and the guests informed via note upon arrival. I believe that most guests would prefer to remain isolated with little to no interaction with anyone outside their immediate party. As a vacation rental, part of what you're paying for is peace and serenity, and to get away from the outside world. Just my two cents. Last thing I'll say is that with the incredibly steep flights of stairs to get up to the cabin, those with any disabilities or physical handicaps in the legs or lower back may have a difficult time with this property. Carrying our luggage up and down was the least desirable aspect of our visit, although, I did add some much-needed muscle in my calves and quads, so, I won't complain too much. :) All in all, it was a great visit and we really enjoyed it! Thanks, Scott!
The Gardner Cabin was perfect for our stay in Colorado. Very close to Red Rocks Amphitheater, breweries and distilleries in Golden and Evergreen. The cabin was clean and was fully stocked! Scott was a gracious host and we will definitely recommend this location to others.
I absolutely loved the location of this property, up in the high mountains with a brook nearby that could be easily heard from the house. It was a very peaceful property.
Nice property on quiet road, but still close to the freeway and just a few minutes from greater Denver. We enjoyed the sitting on the porch in the evening.
A cozy and clean home. Enjoyed every second.
Really nice place. Clean. Off the beaten path. If you're looking for a quiet place in the woods, this is it!
Great spot if you want to get out of the city. House was great and the location was even better
The house we stayed at was perfect.-- two bedrooms, two baths, great kitchen, comfortable seating., We never left it to hike to the reservoir! I highly recommend it for a quiet get-away with easy access to Evergreen and Denver.
