A charming cedar shake house perched on a bluff overlooking the Tanana River with a view of the Alaska Range mountains when the weather permits. About 2000 square feet with 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed plus a sofa for overflow sleeping. Total of 5 people can be accommodated in winter.
I have lived at Casa Tanana for the past 18 years and have enjoyed it immensely. I recently retired from the Univeristy of Alaska Fairbanks and would like to share my home and its ambiance with you

Stayed Oct 19, 2025The house is comfortable and well maintained. Spent most of my time going out to the atrium. The views are amazing. The mountains, the water running by, the wildlife. Brad (the host) was very informative with his binder. Easy check in and easy checkout. Close to town. Well stocked. Brad has thought of everything that you would need during your stay.

Stayed Oct 12, 2025This was a wonderful place to stay. The view was terrific. The place was everything as described and more. We seen the northen lights from the yard. We had a beautiful sunrise from the atrium. No problems at all. Highly recommend.

Stayed Apr 21, 2025Really a lovely place to stay! This is coming from a seasoned Fairbanks visitor. Probably will stay again in the future. Nice to have odds and ends stocked already in the kitchen and bathroom. Perfect location from my family’s home. Little snafu with checking in was quickly resolved. Very first time seeing a red fox on the ice… and I have been visiting for 20 years :)

Stayed Mar 12, 2025Dennis was a great host and the house was perfect. Cozy but roomy, well-stocked, and gorgeous views. We had a perfect view of the total lunar eclipse, dramatic mountains, and beautiful sunrises. The house was easy to find and it was a short drive from town. Thanks Dennis!

Stayed Oct 20, 2024The property was clean and as advertised. During our stay, a bad snow storm knocked out the power and we ended up having to spend one night in a hotel. The host stayed in communication with us the whole time and was more than happy to refund the one night we could not stay in the cabin. The rest of our stay after the power came back on was great!

Stayed Oct 12, 2024My husband and I had a terrific time. We saw Denali on a clear day. It was so beautiful. We went to a reindeer farm and walked a reindeer through the woods. We also went to Chena hot springs and saw the most beautiful sunset at Murphy dome. Unfortunately, it was too cloudy for the Aurora. It was totally worth it. The house had an amazing view and it was centrally located to all the places we when. It was cozy and had a fully stocked kitchen.We had great commutation with the host.
