Nice and close to beach

This was a very nice house and we enjoyed our stay very much. The house showed a little wear with some worn paint in the kitchen and some stains on some of the furniture, but overall it was a great central location for our vacation with lots of things to do in nearby towns. The walk to the beach was a little difficult due to the dunes, but on the last day we finally found a boardwalk about 1/4 mile away. If we had known about that, we would have enjoyed the beach much more! We said several times that we wished there was a notebook that would have explained little details like that, how to run the hot tub, what are some good restaurants nearby, etc. There were instructions about the trash and laundry, but having it all in one central location would have been helpful.

I’ll start with the good stuff: this was a cute little place with a neat feel and great decor (really liked the art). Beach access and location was fantastic. They provided a ton of towels which was much appreciated. Also liked the availability of washer and dryer with laundry soap. The bad stuff: When we arrived, the code they had given us didn’t work and there was a brief delay getting in as the management provided us with a new code—this wasn’t a huge issue. there was a large ball of hair on the shower wall and another on the shower drain . As if this wasn’t disgusting enough, one of the bedrooms reeked of urine. It was the little area rug which I rolled up myself and removed from that room. I opened the windows and scrubbed the floor with cleaner. After a second cleaning and a day with that window open, it was tolerable. I did mention this all to the manager and there was an offer to remove the carpet but no profuse apology or offer to have someone come clean the place. There was food in the freezer that wasn’t removed from previous guests. They also didn’t provide coffee—this was the first vacation rental I had been to that didn’t provide coffee.

This is our second time staying at this property. My kid loved it so much that he was packed and ready for the trip on Monday night when we weren’t heading to the coast until Saturday afternoon. The loft is his room when we stay there and he loves everything about this place. The kitchen is easily the most well stocked of any vacation rental we’ve used to date. Everything is clean and comfortable. Host was very organized and responsive, and the welcome materials are thorough to the point that I’ve never needed to get in touch once our stay begins. Highly recommend this rental for a great beach getaway.

Stayed at Whimsical Dunes for a little mini writing retreat with my friend. We wanted a cozy place to write and we got it! The house is decorated so fun and cute with adorable colors and great artwork. The location is steps to an amazing beach, and even though it rained most of our week (forced us to stay inside and do more writing!) we did enjoy our walks when it was sunny. We brought all our food for the week and planned on cooking all our meals, but we did have trouble with the oven not working. When we notified the owners they sent someone out to look at it and while it wasn't an easy fix they did issue us a bit of a refund which was nice. The only small things we kind of struggled with were the TV was hard to figure out, there were multiple remotes and no instructions. Also the kitchen utensils and dishware could be updated, it was mostly cheap but we made it work. All in all we had a lovely stay!

My husband and I stayed for a little getaway and had a perfect time. The beach cabin is cozy, well remodeled and very comfortable. Bed was comfy, which is something most rentals lack. We squeezed in one beach walk before a massive storm hit. We did lose power, but we made the best of it. Would be a great stay for two families. Beach access is top tier.

Perfect place for a relaxing Thanksgiving getaway at the ocean. Loved the sunset view, from the deck and hot tub. Amazing selection of DVDs. The shower and tub were fun and truly luxurious. We brought wet suits and really enjoyed the easy access to the beach and waves. Thank you for the camp chairs - they were great to take in the sunset from the top of the dunes. Our pup Sebastian absolutely loved the beach! Another magical stay in Waldport - worth the drive!

Property is as advertised. They were very clean. They could use a little WD 40 on the hot tub padlock, fix the microwave since the single digit minute is hard to see, and tighten the legs on the dining room chairs since they were wobbly (my husband did some). Great supply of towels. We only used one of the beds and it was comfortable.

This house was everything we hoped it would be and more! It was charming, clean, and so comfortable. The beds were seriously the best we have ever experienced. The kitchen and the bathroom were both amazing, and we loved sitting on the deck enjoying the view. A lot of effort has clearly gone into the home decor, it’s definitely whimsical! We loved our stay, thanks so much!

We had a very nice time. Clean, roomy, close to the beach. We would definitely book again.

Good location, short walk to the beach, quiet town.

The house is in a good location, with a short walk to the beach. The house itself feels a bit worn and we couldn’t get the fan in one of the bedrooms to work (we had messaged them about it but didn’t hear back). The hot tub was nice to use, but it smelled strongly of chemicals and looked very worn. It was also very hot in the house. We were happy with the amount of space, the location, and how the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. .

Lovely property a short walk over a couple dunes to the beach. The hot tub is a great amenity. I was even more stoked for the foot shower. No AC, but you don’t need it. Windows open in 65 degree July evenings made for perfect sleeping conditions. Highly recommended

Great property! Dog friendly, room for six, hot tub, sunsets, and lots of beach memories made. Great communication from owner & location is a plus! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stay!

we loved our stayed and loved being so close to the beach! our only complaint is that the tech was lacking. so hard to watch anything and so complicated with 4 different remotes.
