All of the reviews were right on. Where our visit is different is we had two days of snow. It was beautiful. The best thing were the electric rubberized mats on the stairs and walkway. Melted off all the snow and made it safe. Not what you would expect from a beach review but I think it also goes to show how Jane takes care of her guests.

We really enjoyed the location and the house. Very well appointed and the host was very communicative and cooperative. We loved all the little notes around to help us navigate the heating system and kitchen.Because of WA state beach ownership rules (in other words, NOT the fault of the host), you can't walk far on the beach in front of the house. BUT, Driftwood Beach is a 2 minute walk away and it is a part so you can walk for a couple of miles towards the Port Townsend ferry dock. Plus, towards the rear of the property is another big park/natural area with wonderful birdwatching opportunities.Walking or biking to the ferry, and the restaurant there (great food, though service speed can be... 'variable'), is possible. Decently wide shoulders on the road, but 50mph speeds. You could get there by the park on either side, we think. We stayed in late December so wind, cold, and rain had us driving. There is an enormous amount of driftwood piled up in this rea, but you can still see the water from the house.Marrowstone point, Port Townsend, and many points southwest are visible. When we were there, the sun set stright out from the house. Lovely. If you're staying during the cold season, make sure to let the hosts know when you plan to arrive. They will remotely turn on the propane stove for you and heat the house. I forgot this and it was pretty cold when we arrived. 100% my fault. Just sharing as a tip so you don't make the same mistake. We'd absolutely stay here again.

Host responded quickly and I appreciated the fact that she made sure that everything was in order for our stay. The cottage was well-equipped, and it was clear that the host tried to think of everything that might be needed for an enjoyable stay. Cottage was cozy and clean with large windows so the view/sunsets can be enjoyed. Nice deck, comfortable beds and clear directions for operating the thermostats, appliances, TV, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for the Memorial Day weekend. The beach cottage is very clean and simply cozy. Rain or shine there is always something to do or see. This was our second time staying here and plan on coming back again soon. Highly recommend it!
