Western Skies: Mountain Home Near Wolf Creek

They charged us cleaning fee for gas grill and outdoor fire pit that we did not even use. There were broken toys and pool equipment that was also charged to me. I never had such an experience with any vacation rental. Had I known I would have taken pictures of all the pre-existing damage.

Host, good location

We loved the peaceful setting and the gorgeous views — such a perfect spot to unwind. Lots of space and separation between rooms. The home was spotless and modern, with everything kept up to date. This was an excellent location for us to stay for a local wedding ( not far from paradise ranch at all), and close to town and the springs. Two great outdoor spaces to gather, two very large common areas to hang out. Two sets of washer and dryers, plus tabe top ironing board. Really loved it here, nice and cool in spite of summer heat. Great to watch local horses ( they say don’t feed ‘em!) and wild life. Yes, big downstairs bedroom was below kitchen and our early rising East Coast coffee drinkers…. but very little noise transfer throughout the house. All the big bedrooms really really nice and comfy, the twin bedroom was pretty small and probably better for a teenager/child. To me it was hard to picture the layout from photos and we were really surprised by how darn large it is with separations on bottom and main floor. Really private. House would be great for a retreat. Really appreciated the hosts’ responsiveness when we thought we left something at the house. They were very quick. The house cleaners, who I met when I went back, were AWESOME! Our whole stay was really nice and interactions really low key. Loved it!

Paradise! Big wonderful patio! We spent all our time here! House was beautiful comfortable welcoming!

The house is very large and surpassed our expectations. We were 3 families and we liked that we could spread out with each family on a separate floor. The house had everything we needed and plenty of communal space in the family room, kitchen and dining area, and on the deck. And the location was fantastic - we spent time in Pagosa Springs and Chimney Rock, but also did day trips to Mesa Verde, Durango, and the Sand Dunes. And we loved all of the nearby restaurants (Kips, Riff Raff on the Rio, and the Rose.
