House was in great condition and perfect for our long weekend with a large group of 3 families!

This home was absolutely perfect. Not a detail was missed. Our family so enjoyed being together and making memories. Thank you! The host was quick to respond when I asked a question.

The house was huge with plenty of space for all our guests. The kitchen was remarkable! The large island was perfect for people to sit around and visit while staying out of the way of the people cooking. The two refrigerators were very useful as well.

We were very happy with our stay! Our family of 16 spends one fall weekend each year in northern Michigan and we are ecstatic to find this home! It had everything we needed and more! Very comfortable and perfect location!

We booked this home for a weekend getaway with friends to celebrate milestone birthdays, and it was absolutely perfect! The location was ideal, the house was beautiful, and there was so much room for entertaining. Everyone had their own comfortable space to sleep, which made it even better. We also enjoyed a fabulous wine tour nearby. The host was wonderful to work with and even allowed us a later check-out, which we greatly appreciated. Definitely keeping this place in my favorites for future trips!

Absolutely gorgeous!

This house is perfect for big groups or families. Lots of open airy spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, laundry and expansive outdoor space. The beachfront location is ideal for watching the sunset (or sunrise!), jumping off the dock for a swim, or skipping stones. Our young granddaughters loved this home...and so did all the adults. Home was well supplied with kitchen extras (spices, etc.), two refrigerators, a grill, and enough dishes for your entire family. We would book this home again.

We had a great trip! We had 6 kids from ages 17-9 with 4 adults. The house is well laid out to accommodate everyone sleeping and the beds were comfy. House was clean and well maintained. It’s located in a great spot between Boyne, Charlevoix and Petoskey.

This was the perfect home for our family reunion consisting of 10 adults and 4 children. All amenities were provided. Hard to find a home with enough bedrooms for each adult or family, but this was just right. We loved the water access with dock and kayaks. It was a fantastic week. Thank you!

We took a golf trip to Boyne and this was in such a great location. The lake is gorgeous, we had plenty of space, and the home had everything we needed.

This house has a bed for everyone! The bunk room has 3 queen over queen beds alone. The kitchen is well appointed with appliances to accommodate large groups. Communication with host was very quick and thorough. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect house for a large group. Best stocked house we have ever rented. We had 10 people, 6 of which were from South Africa. It was February and they had never seen snow. We had a ton of snow. Access to attractions and restaurants was great. The snow kept us from leaving while waiting on a plow, and we had to shovel a few times. However, as mentioned above, the house is great.

We liked everything. A nice, cozy, clean house. Lots of sleeping places. Convenient for a large group of people. Good location. Nice property manager

The house is beautiful and very spacious. It was very clean and was great for large groups. The communication with the property manager was great and easy check in. I would definitely recommend this property.

Our stay at the he Shire was very nice for our group of 10 friends. The location on the lake was beautiful and convenient. The house was very well equipped with all the kitchen necessities and accessories which made our stay very easy. With lots of room to lounge and relax we all enjoyed the time together..

Three brothers and their adult children spent a weekend here for a family wedding. There were 14 of us in total. We had plenty of room and just about every convenience we could think of. We had other family members join us for dinner and games and had plenty of room, plates, cups etc for 22 one evening. The check in process was very easy. We did notice a musty smell in the basement and the ceiling fans needed a good clean but other than that our stay was fantastic.

We had a great stay! The property was beautiful! We couldn’t have asked for a better home to get together in. Easily accessible and close enough to wineries and town. Would definitely go back!

We celebrated a special family celebration ! The house was perfect for our family of adults and toddler children.

We stayed for a week for a family reunion. It was a perfect house and a great location. Easy drive to downtown Charlevoix and Boyne City (by care or boat). The house had plenty of room for 10 adults and 4 young kids. The big front yard was perfect for the kids and the firepit was great for early evening smores and drinks. Communication with the property manager was efficient and timely. We all agreed we'd definitely stay at The Shire again!!!!

Loved the setting and the home, especially the very well-equipped , spacious kitchen. Plenty of room for our family of 12. Kayaks were great. Lawn for wiffle ball games. Wonderful fire pit for evening gatherings. Spectacular sunsets. Grill was a bit wonky, with broken rack. Basement area smelled musty, a problem for those with allergies. Permanent dehumidifier would be helpful.
