Spring Hill, Florida
CALLING ALL FISHING PROS!!! This home has everything you need for a phenomenal weekend or your well deserved family vacation. Nestled on a quiet canal, this home is minutes "The Weeki Wachee" and a 5 minute kayak paddle to crystal clear water. This River Camp has a rustic feel with it's minor imperfections and throw back feel that will help you relax and bring you back to a simpler time, turn off those phones and kick back at the Camp Fire!!! We have 4 kayaks up to 150lbs and two that are up to 250.
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the ease of accessing the weeki wachee river for kayaking and paddle boarding. The dock was perfect for evening visiting. One take away from this property was the misleading photos for the condition of the structure. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay. Recommendation: have some type of launch area for easier access of kayaks etc.
Love the area close to everything, nebors super nice . We kayaked everyday and went to Weeki wachee state park very low price for a all day adventure,, Ate at Greek city , lei-lo tiki hut and the polish restaurant Cracovia they are all very good place and good prices ..we hope to come back next year all we were missing is more kayaks seat cushions
Just wish the ac was running when we got there and didn’t smell of mold the whole time. Other than that everything was great. Fishing was a plus of the dock, kayaks were used. We rented a John boat and went exploring. Rogers park was nice too. So close to Buccaneer bay. Grill worked great but burned the wood block it was on. Neighbor was upset the wood was blowing smoke in her yard. Maybe get a grill table. Inside/Outside fridge was stocked with all the essentials.
Checkin process was great. Upon checking in the house smelled like someone smoked in it previously. The air filters were not clean i cleaned two of them. I was unaware one of the bedrooms didn’t have an air conditioner in it. But we were able to make do. The back yard was perfect. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Just not the smell
We had a wonderful stay at Mud River Fish Camp. We were on the river most of the trip. The house is large and had plenty of room for the 4 of us. The only issue we had was upon checkout. We reached out to the owner several times but have still not received any response on how we left the home. We wanted to make sure we left everything as expected. Did the towels, swept up and cleaned everything but still dont know if we did something to upset them. They were very nice upon check in and we were very appreciative.
Things that I liked.: Very clean, excellent internet and many streaming apps on the TVs. Very comfortable beds. Jacuzzi Tub. Excellent location for fishing and kayaking. And Tessa is a pleasure to work with. Please know that the description is very accurate: when it says: “It’s rustic with minor imperfections.” One imperfection is very noticeable on your initial walkthrough. The floor in the master bedroom. However, you quickly get use to it and won’t notice it.
I would give this place a 3. The place was very clean. There were several things that we had issues with. The inside had a very musty smell as soon as you walked in. The air conditioners were window units and had issues cooling the bedrooms. One bedroom didn't have an air conditioner at all, and it was warm even for Feb. One of the units only blew out semi-cool air. Thank goodness we found a fan for the bedroom that didn't have an air conditioner at all. The shower/tub in the master bath was interesting. It was a garden tub with a shower head in the middle but no shower curtain and no step to get in the tub/shower. The floors in a couple of places had buckled so you had to be careful when you walked on them. The electrical breaker shut off 2 times while using the blow dryer. A couple of the bedroom doors would not close, so we had to place a bag in front of the door to keep it closed. I also think a hand rail coming in the front door would be a good idea. The place was clean and had no insects. I would not stay here again.
We had the best host! Very thoughtful. The location is great for those who like to be right on the water. The home is older and floor was uneven and buckled. Which made us a little nervous in shower. Overall, our family had a great vacation and made some core memories that we will never forget!
Highly recommend this place...
House was very nice and had plenty of space. Nice dock area too!
We had a fantastic stay. The only minor issue is the umbrella on the patio needs replaced. The kayaks were fun. A manatee visited the patio. The beds were very comfortable and the place was clean. Thanks for the great accommodations.
Six adults and two kids, three days of kayaking, swimming and playing games. Great deck multiple grilling options. Plenty of space to relax.
Everything we needed for a comfortable stay! Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had good supply of basic items. Plenty of gathering space around the table and living room. Washer and dryer is a definite plus! Loved the jacuzzi tub!
