The property is clean and beautiful. We just happened to be their season opening customer and ran into a bit of heating issue. But they resolved it right away and compensated with flexible checkout. Very friendly and responsive.

The house worked very well for us! It was easy to get to, clean and comfortable. Gary was a wonderful and welcoming host—-he answered questions promptly, made it easy to come and go and was flexible. We enjoyed our stay and will consider returning in the future.

The house is clean and comfortable for a family or group — we had seven adults. We appreciated the large couch and dining tables for socialising inside. The kitchen was stocked practically for cooking up meals. The deck chairs outside on the water are a gem for enjoying the location. Even though close to a main road and bridge, it is quiet and has a neighbourhood feel. The caretaker and house owner were both helpful and friendly. This property has multiple units, which is great if you’re travelling with other families or a large group.

Clean, cozy and welcoming home. Kitchen was equipped with all of the essentials. Beds were comfortable. View was gorgeous!

We had a great stay at Gary’s. Walking distance to town and Bahr’s restaurant. A hop over the bridge to Sandy Hook!

Enjoyed our annual family stay at the Waterfront Cottages. Love, love, love everything this host provides for the stay.

Everything was very easy and uncomplicated. Our host, Gary was very kind and helpful without being over-bearing The house was comfy and better than the photos showed. There were ceiling fans in 2 of the 3 bedrooms, good AC and easy access to amenities (and just a short walk to restaurants and ice cream). Parking was convenient too. A great spot for a long weekend by the beach with friends. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was perfect for our family. We appreciated the expansive space on the first floor for our family to eat and socialize together. The central A/C made the house very comfortable on hot days! The house is very convenient for going to Sandy Hook or to NYC via the Seastreak ferry. It is also walking distance to businesses in Highlands. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

We were visiting for a high school graduation and found this as a central location between Middleton and Sandy Hook. We couldn’t have picked a better location. I booked a hotel for our late arrival and a hotel for our early morning departure flights and the beach house was our in-between stay. If I could have done anything different, I would have booked more days at the beach house. The home was set up to sleep 6 and for the two of us it was like being home away from home. The home has everything you need. We spent our free time exploring the neighborhood and posted some pics. Can’t wait to do it again. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

The place had the perfect location being able to walk to restaurants/shops/parks and right on the water for a great view! Beach pass included for easy access to a beautiful nearby beach which was great for our family. Parking was a breeze and the home had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Gary was so communicative and responded right away to any questions I had and even let us check in early/check out late when I asked him! We will definitely stay here again!

My husband and I along with our dogs stayed at this property for an extended weekend. The house was a perfect size for our family and was in a great location. Plenty of restaurants and super close to the beaches. The views from the house are gorgeous and you can smell the ocean when outside. Gary is a wonderful host and responded quickly to our messages. The check-in and check-out process was seamless. We look forward to staying here again!

This house was a perfect location for our extended weekend girls trip! Close to the beaches, and not far from multiple small towns with things to do. Gary was responsive, the check in and check out process was a breeze, and there's ample parking for this house. We'd definitely stay again - maybe a bit later in the season, so the beach wasn't so cold! But if you don't NEED the beach and just want a waterside getaway, this is perfect.

We spent the weekend at this house, which we have stayed at before, and as always it was a wonderful experience. The weather was perfect and allowed for us to enjoy the nearby beaches. Being right on the water was relaxing. The house is spacious and has everything you need. The beds are comfortable and the house is very clean. We are looking forward to next stay!

Perfect location and very comfortable for our two night stay at “the shore”. Weather did not cooperate however, so we spent extra time on the couch! Kitchen is well equipped and everything worked. We would certainly book this again.

Really larger space than it looks in photos. Large main level has everything you need for communal hanging out. House is in great condition, doesn't feel like it was thrown together with odds and ends. Cute little park and mini-beach a 30-second walk away. Parking very easy. Does take a little local knowledge to navigate some one-way streets, but totally worth it once you're there. Communication with the owner was flawless - couldn't be better. Absolutely would stay here again.

Wonderful space and especially the kitchen and living space. We had room to cook together and play board games. The rooms were wonderful and they were well decorated.

We’ve been staying in the Highlands for years and this is one of our favorite spots. We enjoy cooking and relaxing together in the open concept downstairs. The host is always available to answer questions or help out in any way. The area is safe, quiet at night, and walking distance to several eateries and bars. We appreciate the reasonable rates and the overall experience and will continue to stay there w hen it’s available.

We stayed here to attend a wedding nearby and everything about it was so convenient. Easy check-in and check-out, easy parking, easy access to nearby restaurants and the Sandy Hook beach! The place was clean and had enough towels for all the guests. The kitchen has a few basic cooking supplies b

I rented this home for a Friday-Sunday. On Saturday my bridesmaids got ready in the house before our wedding. The open floor plan and incredible location on the river made it the perfect spot. Check in was incredibly easy and we were greeted by the property manager when we arrived. There is access to the riverfront with chairs and it was a great place to get photos with my bridesmaids. I highly recommend this home! The house was clean and is close to everything Highlands has to offer.

It was so nice ,and Gary let us check in earlier , let us keep the beachchairs and towels , because we were still staying at the beach , and he responded soooo fast 👍👌 it is nice that there is still some affordable nice places to stay , and that’s why we are coming back
